    Stunning Motorhome but the Habitation door is on the wrong side, can you speck this with the Habitation door on the UK nearside

    • @MotorhomeCampervan
      @MotorhomeCampervan  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, like most imports it has the habitation door on the continental side. But does it matter? You have a door each side and, surely, you'll use the 'van in the UK and on the Continent?
      If you MUST have an A-class with UK-handed layout, try Roller Team and Mobilvetta.

    I would say 2 things....weigh up the high cost together with the practicalities of how much you are going to use it. This seems to get overlooked, in the adrenalin rush to buy a nice big flashy toy. . Usage is important, particularly in the UK where the weather is hardly encouraging. We went for the Adria Compact and its brilliant....lower spec but much lower price (even has a bigger fridge freezer believe it or not!). Ultimately it all depends on your resources !

    Hi Peter great video
    We went to buy a pilote and the supersonic 780 SL kept looking at me and we fell in love with it and now waiting for delivery in late July / august also it has the new levelling system approved by Mercedes which also weighs your van loaded at an extra cost £168k

    Once again Peter, many thanks for another informative video. However, I could tear this Adria to pieces, mainly due to the value. No way is this Motorhome worth over £154. Or even euros. 🤔🚍⚓️🇬🇧

    • @MotorhomeCampervan
      @MotorhomeCampervan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe it's just not the 'van for you. There are plenty of A-classes that cost a LOT more and, if you compare it with its rivals, then I think the Adria looks good value. Unfortunately, prices have risen by around 20% in the last year or so.

    Enjoyed the test Peter and loved almost everything about the Supersonic especially the comprehensive spec.....but for a 7.8mtr motorhome there is pitiful external storage or internal floor storage. There must be loads of lost space in that Alko chassis with a small fresh water tank and the externally mounted waste tank. Adria are a really experienced builder, but have somewhat snatched defeat from the jaws of victory here.

    • @MotorhomeCampervan
      @MotorhomeCampervan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it's a pity they didn't go for a full storage double floor (like Frankia, Carthago, etc), rather than a technical double floor. I wouldn't say 150 litres was a small fresh tank, though.

    • @peterfoster161
      @peterfoster161 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Did you not notice that massive garage? Small freshwater tank? It’s 150 litres for god’s sake. I’ve had a couple of m/homes with internal underfloor storage and rarely used it, just can’t be bothered to keep lifting the carpets.

    • @richardturner681

      @peterfoster161 Thats not a massive garage - look at the Hymer BMLi 780 for a massive garage. proper Alko under floor storage and a water tank at 180 litres

    This seems to be a really good motorhome. I ask myself what would happen if you went into one of the big companies in Germany and said you just wanted the basic van with zero options. Bet they would say sorry, we don’t do basic. Thank you for the tour.

    • @MotorhomeCampervan
      @MotorhomeCampervan  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Actually, I think the Germans buy their 'vans with less kit than we do. One van conversion specialist brings everything here with alloys, metallic paint, colour-coded bumpers, etc, but German buyers don't bother apparently.
      Even if you could buy a German 'van with zero options, though, I'm not sure you'd ever be able to sell it again...

    Some of the smaller vans only have 150kg capacity in the garage, 400kg is huge! Love the foot stool. They've got the table size right for once, but the oven is tiny. Great that the toilet is at a sensible height. Are those cupboards in the bedroom at head whacking height? I assume you were still having sound issues when driving, it sounded like a bag of nails.

    I own an Adria Matrix Supreme and love it. This Adria sadly wouldn’t please the wife because of the tiny oven. Adria must know that we Brits tend to cook inside because of our poor weather. Nevertheless the spec is, as usual for Adria, top notch and knocks spots off that ridiculously expensive Frankia you reviewed. Adrias do tend to rattle which is annoying and this issue should have been addressed in this flagship model. That aside it looks like they’re onto another winner here. This is not a German motorhome, they’re made in a huge state of the art facility in Slovenia. I love it.

    • @MotorhomeCampervan
      @MotorhomeCampervan  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As ever, it's designed to suit the whole of the European market, of which we are only a part. But at least Adria fits an oven as standard for the UK!

      Probably a Hymer ML-I that we had on long-term test a few years ago - great build quality and softer Merc ride.

    very good vid and review as usual but i just wish you would mention FWD or RWD from the get go then i can watch on or skip. there is just no way on gods earth i would ever contemplate buying a vehicle that cant be driven on wet grass or even wet leaves. i find the whole concept of FWD motorhomes ludicrous. the info is often deliberately left out of dealers adverts . i find it quite incredible that prospective buyers are more interested in the inside of the fridge than the running gear of a 5 ton plus vehicle.

    • @MotorhomeCampervan
      @MotorhomeCampervan  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want RWD, then your options are very limited. Auto-Sleepers and Frankia are the only mainstream brands building coachbuilts on the rear-wheel drive Sprinter now (plus just the ML-T from Hymer).
      You might find a few more options in panel vans, especially if you go 4x4.

    • @Rob-Lynn
      @Rob-Lynn ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MotorhomeCampervan it would help people to find more RWD options if reviewers gave the info out in the first place. After all it is a crucial factor for a buyer to take into account when making a major purchase. We aren't all mug punters at the end of the day.

    Really enjoyed your review, am i right in thinking that the heating and hot water is run by LPG. If so how big is the LPG tank as i cant find that info anywhere, plus how long would it last do you think? also was there much room left on the roof for additional solar panels. Thanks Darren

    • @MotorhomeCampervan
      @MotorhomeCampervan  ปีที่แล้ว

      The gas locker holds two 11kg cylinders; it's not a fitted LPG tank (rare on continental models). You can run the heating/boiler from gas or mains electric (when hooked up). Heating can use a lot of gas in extremely cold weather.
      I'm sure you could add more solar on the roof.

      I don't think there's any lack of storage inside the 'van but it is a technical double floor, not a storage double floor, so there's no underfloor storage.
      The premium for the Merc chassis used to be huge but it's quite small now as Fiat prices have risen so fast and Fiat charges quite steeply for auto, 180 engine, sat-nav, big touchscreen, etc, etc.

      But still, most C&MC sites now let you park either way around, as long as you're between the two marker pegs.

      Adria doesn't offer that, but maybe you need to watch this review - th-cam.com/video/lM94tJdVCw8/w-d-xo.html There aren't many rear lounge A-classes, but here's another - th-cam.com/video/X3Ec1QaszTU/w-d-xo.html

      @rscosworthfan I'll give that a look later, British vans don't really appeal to me though, none of the ones I've seen have the modern look that I'm after or the build quality.

    Great walkthrough as usual sir.
    Surely it would be cheaper to buy from the USA and get it shipped / drive over? So so much more for your money with change to spare. Definitely rip off Britain.

    • @MotorhomeCampervan
      @MotorhomeCampervan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Would you want an American RV? - wider, will need converting to UK/European electrics, parts supply issues... When RVs were imported here in any number (at least a decade ago), they often looked quite poor value. And the quality of many RVs is shocking in comparison with the best European brands.

    • @Cilmaen
      @Cilmaen ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MotorhomeCampervan Granted there are some cheap ones out there due to the RV craze, but there are many solid ones too, especially the new ones. I also find the same issue in the UK. How the European market hasn't adopted slid outs is beyond. I guess they are only interested in folk who are under 6' and 16 stone. You would have thought with their overpriced vans, they could at least include a TV at a decent size. Several Solar panels should be standard too.

      We own a 2022 Adria Sonic Supreme 700 SL. And I would not say the quality is bad, once minor issues is taken care of, it is rather good in my eyes.
      But there must be a lack in quality control at the factory.
      Our issues has been:
      1. Sentral locking not working. Bad conection between habitation door and connector in the door frame.
      2. Driverdoor sometimes opens when uncloking the motorhome using the sentral locking.
      3. Habitation door not closing propperly in cold/wet weather.
      3. Some gaps and missalignment in the interior.
      4. Bathromdoor touches the door frame.
      5. Broken garage door lock catch.
      6. Wood weneer is of a lesser quality than ealier Adria products, at least it seems so. I thik it will wear easier and is more prone to scratses.
      The biggest issue with Adria is that they don't have a wood free construction.
      You can't access the graywater tank for inspection, neither from inside or utside.
      There are several hidden spaces wich should/could have been used as storage space, and it seems that without puting too much more effort into it it could have been possible to add atitional storage space by utilazing the double floor.
      I could add that we where looking at Carthago, Malibu and Dethleffs also, but Adria was our choice because of the overall package.
      Since we need 5 belted seats we did not have the option to go for Super Sonic as it has max 4 belted seats.
