    Hello. I just wanted to thank you for the video. Especially the part where you tested the amperage. I too, made a video about this meter because I was impressed in its performance for the price. However, I wasn’t able to show precise amperage readings. Seeing your video makes me like and trust the meter even more. I use it for quick diagnostics on cars. Usually, if I have to be really precise of a reading, or maybe a much lower reading, I’ll use my oscilloscope with with a high amp or low amp, amp clamp. Like you said, for most hobby work, and I’ll add a lot of automotive tests, this meter is more than capable. Thanks again for the video. I’ll check out some more of your others videos.

      While the color video display is flashier looking and a plus if you're inclined to always be working in the dark, the 206D is more easily visible under all conditions, particularly out in sunlight, which renders the 208D display measurements nearly invisible.
      However, the only real deficiency of the 208D lies in the design of the min max. It can only toggle between display of min or max, and won't show the current reading. I was surprised they did it that way, considering how well designed everything really about it was.
      Usual implementation of min max allows display of the ongoing readings, and additionally an average reading as well, in case you don't trust your own eyeballing the numbers. Maybe they just felt it better to simplify by having only two displays to cycle through instead of four.
      Niggling details might also be the battery door and screw, which could have been done with a self latching slide or clip on design, with a captive screw just as backup. As it is, the screw has to be used because the door falls off otherwise, and the screw is free to get dropped and lost if you fumble it during a battery change.
      The draw on the batteries is probably mostly from the display, which cannot be turned off or dimmed if using it for extended periods like a min max measurement, where it's pointless to look at the display except at the very end anyway.
      Current measurement mode draws slightly more current than the other modes, so don't use that mode if you're only turning it on to use the flashlight 😉
      Don't know what the run time of the 208D batteries are, but I'd guess it's over 50 hours. Likely longer on the 206D, but I can't find mine to make that measurement, misplaced it somewhere.
      If you can save up the lunch money to spring for the far more capable 208D, you'd be much better off.

      @@hwingerrr5680 if they changed the 208D display back to the old style used on the 206D and add an ongoing measurement display to the min max mode, it'd be perfect.

    35:05 The relative function from the Uni-T can be used to zero out in dc current measurement as well I guess ; )

  • @sadfur8728
    @sadfur8728 ปีที่แล้ว

    22:25 the low impedance voltage mode still doesn't apply much of a load in the battery though. The Low-Z mode is more to reduce the slight voltage induced in the probes from movement of the test leads, which some might find confusing. It doesn't really bother me as I can just check for zero calibration by connecting the leads together before measurements.
    I just got a low cost ANENG battery tester for under $3 which works well for testing, it applies an constant power 8mW load on the battery, which gives a better indication of the state of health.

    THAT was a reeeeally long video - but I knew that before it even started just by looking at the time index. And for those who at first blush might think it too long a video just for one multimeter, think again if you ever had any questions about how to use some of the advanced features on this multimeter or one's similar on a different model you might have. I already knew how to use a multimeter generically speaking, just for rudimentary reading voltage and amperage for non-professional and non-critical purposes, but having got this particular meter I did not understand some of the features, what they were for or how to use them. Being impressed with the efficient and logically ordered presentation of information in the first few minutes of the video I figured it would be worth it to stick with it all the way through even if 80% of it was stuff I already knew. I wasn't disappointed and there was well more than just 20% of it that was new and useful information to me - not only about the use of features specific to this meter but also about electrical theory, generally. Thank you very much to the producer of this video for the time and effort you put into it to inform and educate the masses.

      Exactly. It is quite unfortunate when somebody compares two instruments, but have no clue how to operate one of them. The UNI-T is very accurate as soon as you remove the offset by pressing REL/Delta buton. Makes me wonder if it was intentional as it is hard to believe that an experiences EE knows how the new instrumet can be zeroed, but pretends he does not know how to do it on his own instrument. Looked up a Benning DMM, the 26 position rotary dial design is the most I've ever seen. That's like a stick shift car in a sea of automatics 🙃

    i think the acuracy between the AGILENT at 1200€ and KAIWEETS HD 206D at 47€ is no realy different and final is not real multimeter, test your Agilent and Kaiweets 118A and see difference

    so the question is how can prestigious brand justify such a different of price even if their device are a bit more accurate . And that is true for many thinks in general...we are stolen every day

      Why not what do you think could happen?

    • @BKD70
      @BKD70 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      LOL... why not? In my younger years, I used to handle cables carrying over 1000A at 28.5VDC... multiple times a day. Every day. With my hands right on them... you could feel and watch them jump when the load was applied.

    • @hwingerrr5680
      @hwingerrr5680 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BKD70 was the concern the cable can jump and knock someone out hitting them on the head?
      Otherwise there's really more danger measuring voltage on a household outlet than using a clamp meter to measure 28V at 600A.

    This is for sure NOT a Cat III meter.....I 'd bet an arm for that...

    • @TRXLab
      @TRXLab  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'd bet an arm against your statement. It is 100% CAT III. European CE label is not a funny joke! Any product has to go for a certified type approval. If you as manufacturer would fake those labeling the European market surveillance would immediately find out and stop the product from selling. Additional to that it is a criminal act which would cost the manufacturer credibility and a lot of penalty payment.

    • @petrbrazda1064
      @petrbrazda1064 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TRXLab Dear Peter. I thing that this time is your trust for CE labeling a little bit overestimated. Also mobile phone chargers have this same label and you know that they are not safe. Capacitor dropping, not enough insulation between transformer vindings, etc. Same stuff as European BIO label, wich allow meny toxic substances in a grow-conservation process.

    • @TRXLab
      @TRXLab  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well it is not the required and accredited procedure to be compline with the market rules it is rather more fraud and yes you are right there is fraud withe the CE label but if you require a constant market entry you simply can't risk to get blocked.

      @@TRXLab You underestimate what Chinese sources will do. Kaiweets?!? Come on. If *they* get busted, the label just gets changed to some other random string. Introducing: the Ubgertts clamp meter! I'm not saying this *isn't* up to par...just that there's a good chance of it.

    Good morning sir,
    Thank you very much for your demo work, it's really nice to share your experience (expertise more exactly).
    I regret not having taken seriously the learning of the English language at school, I would have understood the subject, I am ashamed.
    Perhaps you realized the subject in writing and I could have the French translation?
    If you don't mind of course.
    I placed an order 2 days ago directly on the manufacturer's website, I am awaiting delivery.
    On the other hand, I would like to be able to exchange in writing with you, I have a burning subject to submit to you, only an expert like you could allow me to understand a very surprising phenomenon that is happening to me.
    If you agree I will send you my email address.
    Thank you for your attention.
    Good for you,
    Jean Pierre
