Hi Kobie - I'm not sure what they put in the core, but they use a recycled graphite and I'm thinking there is something added in that process that impacts the way it writes. Thanks!
Graphite sticks have been sold for years in art stores. It is interesting how this company has "greenwashed" the concept and glued an eraser to the end. Do you think this thing would break easily?
Hi RBS - this seems sturdier and more rigid than other graphite sticks I've tried. It feels more dense. I didn't try dropping it or bending it. I'm sure it would break at some point, but in normal usage it seems fairly strong. Thanks!
I am so disgusted with this so to say innovative and technological solo perpetual pencil. I bought it in Auckland Art museum as a visitor from South Africa as a precious souvenir to find out after trying it that it is so hard and not at all a 2b. It is actually scratching the paper while I try to draw. The claim that you can use it with water is not true with this B2 pencil. You just cannot do a wash with this pencil.
For an "ecologically minded" product that uses essentially recycled graphite scraps, this thing is *_hilariously_* overpriced. I'm no hustler, but I tip my hat to you, Perpetua.
Hi DFT - this is no cheap pencil, for sure! And I assume they pay little for the graphite since it is a by-product of a manufacturing process. I'm guessing the refining of the used graphite and manufacturing process is more costly, but it has a high price tag. Thanks!
I see they even make a model with a glow in the dark eraser! Thank you for the fine review.
You're welcome, Brian!
That is certainly a unique one. I'm unlikely to rush out to get one, but fun to see it in action.
Thanks, MAMO! It was fun to try, but not one I will use regularly. It's more of a novelty.
Well, I do have a vintage Castell 9000 in HB and its pretty haard. More of an H or 2H. So Im not surprised the Perpetua writes like that
Pretty on-brand for European graphite products.
I find that most of the European made pencils tend to run harder and lighter than the US or Asia made counterparts. Thanks!
If I would get that pencil, I would use it as a thumbnail or shading pencil
Thanks, immanuel! It would be good for those tasks!
Thank you very much for another excellent review!
You're welcome, mojahangard! Appreciate you watching!
Interesting 🤔 not sure I’ll be buying one anytime soon but I find my options to have grown 😊
Hi Ladythyme! Thank you for checking out Always Analog! I don't think this is a pencil I'll use often, but it was fun to try.
Light but yet not hard. They probably substituted the graphite and clay with something cheaper to cut costs?

Interesting review & enjoyed the commentary.
(…. I dusted off my ebay account & jumped into these Italian waters.)
Thanks, EP! Glad you enjoyed the video on this unique pencil!
As always, a great review. BUT...
Give me a Musgrave Tenn Red, and more sharpening every single time. LOL
Hi Chester - that Tennessee Red is one beautiful pencil - it would beat this one hands down! Thanks!
AA - Sent you an email. Check it out when you get a chance

Their profit margin off this must be _at the very least_ 600%.
