Bro, you are right. We may not only soon import drinking water but our cash crops WILL be below acceptable consumption levels internationally. The serious problem with us is that we ascribe almost everything to “spiritual “. In the end we will blame spirits and go to church and mosques to pray. This galamsay issue can be solved by both dominant parties if and only if they put Ghana first. NPP and NDC members are the major beneficiaries of this dangerous practice, depending who is in power. And most of our chiefs are as toothless as it is because they sell their conscience for peanuts. The most dangerous part of it is that the contamination of mercury into our waters will end most of the inhabitants developing dangerous health issues.
The Ghanaian government could initiate a National Water Policy and undertake Rainwater Harvesting by constructing tanks and check dams on a mission mode.
