@@danielthemaniel1697 I agree with you, assuming your comment was facetious? Fanboy & ChumChum is many things, deep isn’t one of them. Still, it’s a really great cartoon. It is both simple and erudite. Mostly simple.
Not to mention how Chum Chum, who is the younger friend, wears orange and yellow. Orange and yellow are warm colors, showing his naïve and optimistic views. Fanboy, on the other hand, wears cooler colors with purple and green. Fanboy is the older of the two, and shows how he has a colder or harsher view on how society treats outsiders. Fanboy and Chum Chum is outright showing how the younger people in society are carefree and try to think the best of everyone, whilst the older people can see through society’s rouse and are more jaded and harder outlook on society. This is also reflected with the character Yo. She is constantly happy and a bundle of joy, wearing skirts and bright colors. This is society’s expectation for women in this world and she is content with following it. In a way, she is society. She also takes a liking to Chum Chum since he is the younger partner, and is more susceptible to changing his ways to fit fit into what society deems “normal”. This is shown when she captures him and treats him like a tomogachi pet; keeping him captured and blocked off from his true creativity and passion. Fanboy can see through her scheme, however. Fanboy is used to how society works and thus exploits her weakness. He then takes chum chum back in cold blood, showing that society’s norms are doomed to crumble eventually...and also that women shouldn’t be allowed to own property. This show was truly ahead of its time. Programs like Steven Universe and Gravity Falls merely leached off of the important life lessons it brought up. They are very much the society in this situation, taking an idea that is unoriginal to them and rebranding it as their own...perhaps it was best this show was short lived though. It prevented the influx of fake fans who don’t understand the complicated stories this show weaved. “You either die a gamer, or live long enough to get bopped.” - Boog, 1821-2015

How the fuck can you as an adult like this absolute piece of shit of a show. Seriously. Like I understand some adults finding some cartoons entertaining, but this has literally got to be a joke. Only the intro gives you headaches. It makes you physically sick having to watch one single episode. I absolutely despise this show and so should you. Nice try, but Fanboy and Chum Chum is clearly an allegorical framework for a postcolonial critique of contemporary media culture. Truth is, most pop media IS pointless because it’s supposed to be- no one wants to contemplate their existence after finishing a 12 hour shift.
