Nice video, but I would argue against some of the statements here. An all medic paradigm was very useful in late and post game for heavy hitting enemies. I remember even finding all sentinel paradigms to be useful for survivability from those usual one hit KO attacks from super bosses. Which then would shift immediately into all medic paradigm to quickly heal and get rid of multiple debuffs. Countless specific battles where you quickly want to debuff the enemy so an all saboteur is useful. In late game especially, having buffs on you at all times is super useful and at times essential. An all synergist paradigm was a priority. Also, one of the more personal scenes with Lightning she literally mentions her parents dying when she was young. So she basically had to raise Serah. So her parents were definitely mentioned. The story I found to be interesting. For me, story fails in the way it’s presented. And by that, I mean the majority of the backstory is found through lots and LOTS of reading. Oh god the amount of reading. But the story definitely suffers with the sequels. I would say the sequels significantly improve the combat system with each installment while simultaneously making the story worse and worse. Heavy disagree on your stance on Lighting being a “one of the worst protagonists of all time.” Quite heavy actually especially when Vaan exists. And she definitely has more interesting characteristics than Noctis for me. If there is anything that actually pushed this game going longer than it should have, it was Lighting as the poster child. But all in all, I respect your opinion. I can very much see why this wouldn’t be someone’s cup of tea. I personally like Final Fantasy XIII. I definitely don’t love it. And I find a lot of the criticism here valid, I just don’t see it to be as negative as you put it out to be. But that’s the wonderful thing about video games, I would say. There’s at least one for every type of person. I’m glad FFXIII exists, but I’m even more glad Square has moved past it.
Ur right about Paradigms. Vaan is more like a historian who rides the journey and the player views the world and story from his eyes. Vaan is not an interesting character, but he's consistently being Vaan, while some would argue Lightning is not very consistent on her moods.

You're not "grinding for nothing". You can still store up crystarium poiints (even if the game blocks you from using your entire stash of them at certain points), and use them after you beat the boss Also I prefer this system because it adds an element of challenge so everyone can't just cheese everything overlevelling too much.

It's in my top3 favorite games ever, along with Nier Gestalt and Persona 5. Edit: OK I have to disagree on some points. FF15 story is nowhere good as 13. The whole Luna and Ardyn arc (plot twist) makes no sense. The story is complex and confusing, I agree with that, but there's like 8-10 hours of cutscenes, including in-game dialog, there's actually a lot of character development going on. Hope being a 14-15 year old iirc having witnessed his mothers death before his eyes and having to deal and overcome grief at an young age, Vanille putting facade to hide her guilt and shame for all she's done, Fang being her counterpart and reminding her to stay strong and stick to their focus. Snow really is annoying, there's no denying that. Dysley is like an authoritarian figure who reinforces the hate towards Pulsian people (which Fang and Vanille helps to break during conversations and during their visit to Pulse) , establishing this nihilistic plan to make a mass sacrifice to summon the maker and restart the world. Just like Persona 5, it's just Iike you said, it's about defying fate, changing their destiny, it's very rebellious in nature, showing the characters inner struggles while having to deal with being chased by the police in their whole planet and dealing with a death sentence tattoo. In these circunstances, it makes sense why everything is so dramatic, and why the game feels rushed, they're being constantly chased after all. That's why they only get some brief rest when they arrive in Pulse, reforming their plan and assaulting Eden with full force. Anyway, have fun with 13-2 :)
FF15 story is worse than FF13 we agree there, i just said that Noct, ignis and Prompto were better characters than any char in FF13. Well i don't feel that most of the game was so dramatic, maybe the start of it a bit mid-late game i can't feel to share those opinions. This reminds me to return to PS5

In 13 I love the conflict between the characters like Snow vs Hope, Sazh vs Vanille , Lightning even thought doesn't know about the things that happen around them seems one of the best real party leaders in the whole series and love every time Snow get punched in the face, I hate that guy so much and every time he call him self a hero. My favorite Rock album is Reckoning Knight of Sonata Arctica, I hope I don't need to explain why.
