It sounds so much better than the currently popular digital audio modes ... thanks for this short summary.

I just put mine together and got it all working last night. Pretty happy with it. 73!

Not strictly a SHARI/AllStar comment (though, good job...), I've been meaning for awhile to leave a comment thanking you for having such consistent audio levels in your videos; the rest of TH-cam should take note...

Thanks Jah! I like to think my content is good for learning, and having bad audio can really make a good video bad. So I invested in my audio gear in the attempt to make my voice as clear as possible. Thanks for watching 🙏

I sent my Shari back to kits for hams and having them assemble it for me. I am too unsteady to do the precise soldering that is needed here. I should have it back by next weekend.

The Sound is fantastic compared to a lot of radios on Digi modes but what I discovered is that by using Blue DV and the DVMEga DV Stick 30 and my Bose bluetooth headset the TX and RX audio quality is much better, People have recorded me and played me back, when using my Anytone 878 and openspot 3 the sound quality on Blue DV was vastly better. I get compliments all the time on Air. Blue DV sounds a lot better than my FT-3D too.
Pity the Openspot 3 can't do allstar!

Thanks for the update on the hat. I have been wondering about this as I have been very happy with my Shari Pi3U. Maybe time for an upgrade.

As always thanks for the great video! I will have to revisit mine today as I was having an issue where it seemed like the USB wasn't working. Obviously beyond the scope of this video though.

I hope this catches on as a replacement for this DMR stuff... I run a node here into a linked repeater system and it's so robust!

I just came across allstar yesterday. Been out of the amateur radio for 15 years. A lot has changed. I’m using EchoLink on my phone, back in the day, it was just computer. I’m interested in allstar. Not electric included nor how to install software. I don’t have a hand held radio. I’m planning on getting the Yaesu ftm 400xdr for my first radio. I’m looking for something plug and play. I am get my node somehow, my IP address for my home internet. Allstar seems far better than EchoLink. The Wisconsin repeaters I want to connect are either on a RHRL or allstar. Or I need a actual radio

What are some popular and active AllStarLink node numbers?

Hubnet in the UK is extremely good and popular.

Well, you can run an EchoLink node on this. :)

Lots of repeater owners use all-star as a repeater controller and URI to interface between the radio and the pi

I hear many stations on Allstar that use their mobile phone as internet hotspots, so yes, definitely achievable.

@@TechMindsOfficial Sure those US guys wil. But then im paying €50 + Euro more to UPS or DHL. Vat Tax , 18 euro customs clearance fees. Netherlands and US packages dont go very well with costums. We need retailers in EU and for sensible price, since its just a simple pcb. .
