Excellent job and thank you. Use your 'feel' when it makes contact and go another 1/4 turn.

    Good judgement call.
When I tightened the valve cover on 99 Camry, the spec says 17 ft-lb; but I felt very tight already at 14 ft-lb. So factoring into the torque wrench precision, I decided to stop at 14 ft-lb instead of taking unnecessary risk to reach 17 ft-lb. I can always go back to tighten more if it leaks.

Yes, common sense & experience trump everything

You are quite right. The Denso spark plug for my 1999 Lexus and 2015 Camry seems quite the same especially for the compression ring, however the Lexus only needs 13 ft-lb. I am wondering a lot of info (including Microsoft AI CoPilot) copies one another. So, the error propagates.

I know this is pretty late, but the Denso website says that the torque should be 15-22 lb. ft on aluminum.

What is the part number for the spark plugs?

Yeah I didn’t use torque wrench I just snug tighten it . I do have a 3/8 inch drive torque wrench from HF and I’ll check it tomorrow. If it feels too much torque at 18 ft pounds then I won’t tighten it to that . 11 Camry LE 2.5 L. I just used a 3/8 inch drive ratchet

As someone commented earlier, for such low torque, the torque wrench to be used should have max setting of maybe 50 or less so that its within the 80% of its full range, thus ensuring accuracy.

      @@akhaqan you’re certain it’s 18 ft lbs ?

Doing tune-ups on the different cars i've owned in the past did make a big difference in power. Does the Camry make a remarkable difference after the tuneup?

Not anything that I could feel, I was actually surprised to see them in such a good condition even after 120k miles, these could easily have gone 20k more.

well an 18lb torque on a torque wrench that goes from probably 10-150 is not the best selection as you are working in the bottom approx 10% of the range of the tool. Much better to use a smaller torque wrench built for the smaller forces as an fyi, but great job on the video.

Yah I’ve got a HF torque wrench with 3/8 inch drive

Well first of, after removing the ignition coil you need to blow out the pocket where the spark plug sits at, to remove any dust or trash that could be in there. So know your taking a chance of getting trash into the cylinder walls now. Also anytime you install a steel product into aluminum you need to put some type of anti-seize on the threads. Please becareful who you get mechanic advice from, as they can cause you more problems in the future

My name is Robert I just looked at your video you made a year ago on replacing the spark plugs on your 2011 Camry. I have the same car And I am mechanically inclined like you. The reason that you were having problems with the torque wrench is because you were using the wrong torque wrench. You was using a foot pound torque wrench you are lucky that you didn’t strip the cylinder head bolts. If you stripped the head bolts then you would have to remove the cylinder head that’s a big aggravating job. Sorry for me running my stupid little midget dwarf mouth. Next time use an inch pound torque wrench not a foot pound. A foot pound torque wrench is for large nuts and bolts. For small light little nuts and bolts you have to use an inch pound torque wrench. I was looking at you on TH-cam and I thought to myself o my gosh he is going to strip the cylinder head bolts. Here I go again running my stupid little midget dwarf mouth. I hope that you learnt something today

Thanks Robert for taking out the time to educate me on this, I wasn't aware of the inch-lb torque wrench, will definitely get that now and yes I was lucky to avoid stripping the head, my years of experience saved me from over tightening no matter what the torque wrench was saying. Stay blessed.

The specification says: 15 to 18 foot lbs
inch-lbs and foot-lbs are not the same.
Per Google: If you want to convert inch-lbs to foot-lbs, you take the inch-lb number and divide it by 12. Likewise, if you want to convert foot-lbs to inch-lbs, you simply take the foot-lb number and multiply it by 12.
I noticed that Toyota has a crazy high spec to bolt down the throttle body too...

This place has a lot of the correct Torque Specs:
2020 Toyota camry 2.5L Complete Torque Specs List
      Toyota Camry Spark Plug Torque Specs : 13 ft-lbs //Other places say 18 ft-lbs!
Toyota Camry Oil Drain Plug Torque Specs : 30 ft-lbs -- With crush washer; this is correct. Get out that torque wrench to put on your oil drain bolt...
Throttle Body Torque Specs 7 ft-lbs //Other places had this at 18 ft-lbs!
