Try training Lucy with multiple shots before you send her. Sometimes there’s a break in shooting of a couple of seconds when multiple people are shooting. Also, try multiple shots and multiple dummies falling.

Lucy did really good. She has improved a lot. Fetching frogs was impressive.
They have these big brushes you can install on a wall, or into the ground. If you look up "cow brush" on amazon you'll see what I'm talking about. Beware the sticker shock though, good luck.
Here's some dog training tips,
With talking, try working up instead of starting with high expectations
Instead of expecting her to sit through 8 minutes first try, slowly build. First time could be "sheww", pause, then give the command and send her out. Do that till it's consistent, and build from there. Adding more and more time.
It might be easier to do with the launcher and then once she's got a few minutes down, move to the gun just to cut out other possible issues. It should also clear up confusion and solidify the fetch commands more.
If you want to switch command names, start with fetch then in this case Lucy. So "fetch! Lucy!" Said immediately after. Do this a few times, like 10-15 rounds, just make sure it's really solid. Then flip to "Lucy!fetch!". Do that a few times. Then after that, switch to just Lucy.
Another way to transition, help with understanding the word & paired command is a clicker! If she does well with treats, you'd give a click and immediately give a treat. After a while, she'll think click= treat, making a great communication tool.
When she sits, the moment her butt hits the ground, you'd click and treat.
If treats are your deal, then every just petting her and loving on her and clicking will work. It's a reward system, and making learning new things or cleaning stuff up clear for the dog
I recommend it because she might not know the command is "fetch" and instead be thinking it's you talking.
Also with a ecollar, I recommend low shock over vibration. If you get a proper e Collar (safest brand out there is the mini educator. They cost a lost, but are extremely safe and last a very very long time) the vibration can actually be more harsh then the shock (as the vibration is a set level, and the shock is very adjustable). To set it, start at level 1, then work up. Stop when you see a ear twitch or some other indicator she's felt it. Most dogs tend to react around level 4-12.

Hey, Flair. Labs have dichromatic vision and red-green color blindness. This could be the reason Lucy was running right by the frogs. Our black lab, Goose, is the same way. He was professionally trained by Scott Greer at North Fork Kennels/Team Avery Waterdog. I mention that to say that even the best trained labs have an issue picking up certain colors and rely more on scent and seeing an object/waterfowl fall. Blind retrieves they’re relying obviously on mostly scent. By the way, Lucy is a heck of duck dog/companion with a great drive to please you. You have the best of both worlds and have done a great job training your first duck dog. Most importantly, you’ve trained her without breaking her spirit by scolding and using a shock collar as a remote control like some dog owners unfortunately do. There’s a time and place for the collar for sure but you’re doing great with a great duck pup!
I wouldn't use a shock collar, its scares the dog most of the time, even if it's on vibrate or a beeper. She responds to you really well so I would just keep working on communicating instead of getting a collar.
Where's Lucy's treat Flair? She deserves some..good frog shooting dude. Lucy deserve some of that frog clean, catch, cook..

When you're practicing and when you're hunting have someone sit next to her and hold her collar. It will train her to stay until she has to leave and fetch.
I've been watching the training progression from day 1 and it gas come full circle.. she has improved 200% from the retrieve and now bringing them all the way back vs stopping short to breaking all the time to almost 100% no breaking and now in less then 10min one trip she's gone beast mode on frog duty.. That is hard to top... You both are doing great and she is gonna be a great hunting dog probably a 3 yr master .... Great job ...remember it's all about repetition repetition repetition

When you mess with pond filters some particles they have taken our end up getting pumped back into the pond as you move things. Turn the pump off when messing with filters to prevent this a bit

Hi flair, I just want to say that American bullfrogs secrete this slime , that may cause your dog to foam at the mouth or leave a really bad taste in their mouth, I just wanted to let you know just in case her mouth seems to get foamy after these bullfrog hunts but it’s also why she is sorta resilient on picking them up. I could be wrong on the whole toxin thing but just wanted to give you a little bit of info so you aren’t alarmed

Take catfish fillets cut them in to nuggies do just under 3/4 parts franks red hot wing sauce to just over 1/4 parts butter milk, add some of your favorite seasoning, put in a Ziploc bag in the fridge for 5ish hours, then bread them with mosses spicy breader mix, mixed with cornmeal and your preferred seasoning it's KILLER!!! (my preferred seasoning is cavender's greek seasoning put it on literally everything)

Plant plants in your small pond stream to help keep it clean
What happens is the filters get clogged up and nasty and when you lift them up you knock all that gunk and poop loose and it becomes captured in the current and runs through the pump back up to the waterfall. You need to stay down there one day and just clean the filter out as soon as the water starts to clear up clean the filter. It will filter out the goop but when it gets too full then it falls out or off the filter, it happens to my big tank. I have a submerged pond filter in my 125 gallon tank and the filter media is submerged. If i bump the filter it will let out the debris it caught in the top layer of the filter media. I have to lift it straight out. When you get behind on cleaning the filters it takes a bit of time to catch back up to get back ahead of it. Most of the time when ponds are clear people think its clean but the sediment just sank to the bottom, a little movement blows it all around again. You probably would have to at least dump out the sediment and large debris filter every two or three days and only worry about the bacterial cleaning like dealing with nitrates, nitrates, and ammonia like every 3 weeks to a month. You will need a water change schedule on that pond just way less than on a small fish tank and never use straight tap water, it had chlorine and metals in it that kill the fish.

He commented on one of his video responses and said he’s talked woth other you tubers that used Ed the pond professor and they said they have had the same problems and he builds people ponds and when they don’t work he doesn’t come and fix them

Flair, try using pebbles and tossing them near the thing you want her to grab. It works for my dog in water and I’ve seen a hunter on TH-cam (Joseph carter) even use it for mink.
Great Video!!! The way I do wings which I think frog legs would be fire also, would be to actually boil them in hot sauce/ wing sauce. Then grill them. Base them while you grill to get a good carmel coat. FIRE!!!!
When you boil them only hot sauce no water.
You can also train certain words my puppy knows wait and I'm working on right, left and behind you. It's about repetition
