A floating rubber worm works for frogs. Cast past them by ten feet or so then slowly reel it close to them and stop and just vibrate the worm to just barely make ripples. don't get in a big hurry to set the hook they will use their front legs to get it all in their mouth. i found some hooks with a foam ball by the eye of the hook that floats the hook and put it in a floating worm and had a good time catching frogs when the bass weren't biting. four or five inch worms seem to work the best. if they are on the bank cast past them and slowly walk the worm in front of them when the have all the worm in their mouth set the hook. keep reeling till you get them off the ground.

Use a piece of black red orange of pink fishing yarn wrapped around a treble hook in into a gumball size. And twitch it on top of the surface. Drives em nuts.
I have not gone out for bullfrogs in decades so maybe things have changed, but we liked to use pink flag tape with a small split shot to help get it out there. No hooks used, but it would definitely increase the odds! My cousin liked to use a little top water mouse lure, but it was always getting choked out with grass... Good luck! I love the frog fishing vids!
Those floating flies from the last video work well. I used to use a cane pole and a may fly sim and slay. Give the ranch pond a go when you do the "target buck" pre bow update. You may want to put some "new" cameras out in different tight areas now that Trapper J put the full loop in. Those old bucks are cam shy.
As right of passage. Every spring break from the time when I was 12 to 17. I would spend a week alone in my Dads cabin, which was more like a shack, every spring in the mountains. Nothing but a hunting knife. There was a spring that came out of the mountain higher up. Where it came out, there was a small pond. I'm talking about a small pond way up on the side of a mountain. About 10 by 20', maybe a foot deep. Merky blue water. It was full of hand sized frogs. I ate good and there's way more meat to a frog than just legs. And it does kinda taste like chicken.
The thumbnail and bullfrog hunting takes me back to the 2019-2020 days!!! Cant believe it's really been 5 years sinced I first subscribed, that's actually a little frightening 😂😅
Ribbit, y'all really need to plan a trip to Louisiana, there is a very cool camp/guide and they are family friendly in the middle of the swamp/river,, it is basically a fishing camp with all the amenities with bedrooms kitchen and you can do different things like bullfrog hunting etc.
You should try tacos. But take softshelled tacos dip in hot sauce then coat with crushed Doritos. Place on an oven rack to bake/dry into a cheap version of a gordita crunch shells.
Dark colored whopper plopper with treble works insanely well for frogs. Started by watching you guys and using frogs myself but the plopper gets a lot more in the bucket
Y’all are the reason i even tried frog legs in the first place! Side note Small yellowish/gold top water frog always does it for me! Them kitty cats go straight to it!

I've never heard of anyone around here catching bullfrogs, so Googled it. Apparently we don't have them here in Alberta Canada. That's too bad because I'd love to try one. They do look really yum! Heather🇨🇦
If you ever come out with a cookbook I’ll definitely be purchasing it. I love your videos. I want to order your merchandise but I currently don’t have the money to.
When I was a kid, we would walk around a pond with a long cane pole with just a small piece of red cloth on a treble hook and dangle it right above their head. Also caught them on plastic worms. Hilarious to see them use their front legs to stuff a plastic worm in their mouth. They will also eat a feather crappie jig held above their head.
You need to go at night time with a spotlight and catch them off the bank. Once you shine the frogs with the spotlight it blinds them and most of the time you can walk up behind them and grab them with your hand. Would make for some good content, that's how we do it in south Louisiana except most of the time we are jumping out of boats or picking them off of lily pads! And for frying them try a wet batter first or an (egg wash) add milk and an egg along with some seasoning, let them marinate for about 30min in the fridge then use your cornstarch or fish fry it will stop the batter from falling off!
Flair you guys need to try your fly rods with flies on them for the frogs. The long rods help keep your distance and then dangle your bait in front of them.
Try to use cane poles or fly rods with flies for the ones close to the bank. You can dangle the flies in their face, if it’s open water you can work the fly normally works great.

Not a mosquito, it’s a robber fly. They eat mosquito’s, horseflies, and many other flying bugs
In Wisconsin we call them mosquito hawks. They eat mosquitoes and flies, so we leave them alone. Anything that eats mosquitoes needs to live!
