      I too take phots of paintings to make giclee prints. I have been using a Nikon D800 and Nikon 85mm f1.8 lens. Get great images for printing with this. Just done a big job to photograph 60 17th Century Dutch old master marine paintings. I too have this M1 mkII camera with the fabulous 12-100 Pro lens. I never considered using it for photographing paintings - but after watching this video I gave it a try. Pretty amazing. I really must take a closer look at tis as the way to go forward. Will do some comparisons and see if the images overall are as good as I get from the Nikon - pixels aren't everything.

    Thanks for this, I was wondering how to get it to take a RAW photo in HR mode.

    I just tried Hi Res to get an 80MP raw file image on my EM1m2. On a tripod of a 100% non-moving image, it worked beautifully! I'm actually very surprised it would turn out so well. I think I'll try using it for the gigapixel landscape panoramas I like to do (if it fails I can still use the single image .ori file it also takes).

    What software other than the adobe plugin can be used to process and edit a high res RAW file? Thanks

    I've recently bought the M5 MkIII and it has this function too. But you cannot open the resulting RAW file in Lightroom or Photoshop. Do you have to download and use the Olympus Workspace program to see and use the High Res file? How are you supposed to do post-processing on it and print it?

    Hi Gavin. IBIS off for this if using a tripod? Thanks.

    How long does it take for the whole process? Could I take a shot with an individual, if it's still enough? Are we talking a few seconds? Miliseconds?

    Can it be used with a flash?

    • @fluffosoftisch
      @fluffosoftisch 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can! You can specify an interval between the eight exposures if you're using a flash with a non-zero recycle time. I've used it with a Neewer TT560, and I usually set the wait time between exposures to 1-2 seconds, depending on the power setting of the flash.
      Obviously it is not going to work very well if your subject is likely to move between the exposures.
