  • In this video I show how to diagnose and fix a common reason the carburetor leaks gas on arctic cat four wheelers with a primer.
This is a 2005 Arctic cat 500 it may be slightly different on other model years.

Very helpful. Mine's leaking around the float bowl. I was able to find individual parts for the float, needle, and gasket. Also thru in the primer parts to replace that while I am at it. In 10 years it could be twice the price to fix so I am taking care of it now. New OEM carbs are +700 bucks. Got all the parts for around 120. The wheeler has sentimental value to me as it was my fathers. After he passed I went to go for a ride and gas was leaking onto the engine. Looking forward to visiting his grave site on his old wheeler.

I have a 99 500 cat and it gets gas when it wants to when I pull the little primer thing no gas is coming out of don’t run etc I feel like buying a new car off of eBay offbrand one

I have never had good luck with the off brand carbs. It sounds like the in tank filter might be plugged or the float is stuck in the carb.

@@smallenginerescue I clean the carburetor and change the gas line. Problem solved.

@@upnorthvlogs Not sure if you were running cheap gas or the premium "off road" higher octane here but I have had to clean multiple carbs and replace worn rubber lines in the past several years. The premium gas that is meant for off road vehicles and older collector cars wont degrade rubber lines like the cheap gas will. I learned it the hard way.
