I know this is old, but this amazing, thank you for sharing your process in such detail. These live performances often seem like a black box, having a step by step breakdown like this is really informative.

Watching this now. You are the only one besides Tube Digga that really dove into the DJS-1000. Its criminally underrated. I want to buy a second one just in case they decide to stop making them. Its a classic that people are just sleeping on IMO.

Thanks! There are quite a few artists/djs using the DJS in their sets, it's just not being shouted about all that much. I'm definitely intent on doing a dual DJS set though!

Dubby Labby compared to what? What other HW does what it does with its feature set geared towards live resampling and playback? It’s unique in that feature. I also think it’s reasonably priced too - given the build quality and features.

Very well done video, I subscribed so that I can learn more about the DJS 1000 and what I can do with it. Thank you.

Really good video, very impressed with your performance! you explained everything very well. I have had my DJS for three months along side the XDJ-XZ, its certainly a great piece of equipment, your videos have really helped me out especially grasping the basics! Im trying my best to delve a little deeper into the capabilities of this unit. Looking forward to more content mate! Keep up the brilliant work 👏 👏

Nice one - really appreciate you explaining all this! I’ve got the SP-16, so useful for me too! The Scene feature os still something I’m trying to wrap my head around, so hopefully you’ll include something about that in your future videos. Thx again!!

I suppose you can think of the scene feature as if you were playing the SP-16 in a band. So for your first song (scene 1) you’d have all the sounds for that then for the next song you’d switch to scene 2 for the sounds for that. It becomes a little trickier going from scene to scene instantly and making a smooth transition.

Dirty Secretz ok, thx. I’ll need to experiment more to get it working. Thx again!

How do you get the sequencer in time? I tried Quantize but I have to keep going to sequence and hit Quantize each time I record. I just want to Quantize and not stopping to Quantize each track. Kills my vibe

If you turn global quantise on whatever you play will be automatically quantised to that setting, it's down the bottom where it says "Quantise"

Dirty Secretz Thanks I figured out the issue. I was in 1/8th instead of 1/4 Quantize. Thanks!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I've got a djs1000 now and Wow ..... Does anyone have a clue how to split the samples into separate pads I'm struggling getting the pads signed to different notes

You can either put the sample onto one pad and then use the slice or hot slice function or you can load the same sample into different pads and then edit each one in turn to just play the parts of the sample you want.
