I really love that you get to customise major components of the order. But I just saw the price for a custom 18650 rotary setup... US$515 for a well-built 325lm light is still hard as f to justify (i) pulling the trigger and (ii) telling myself it's bright enough to be deemed a primary light for anything serious (not becoming a primary light likely means it won't see much use and thereby become just a well-built pocket jewellery that may outlive me). 35,000cd @ 1000lm without stepdown with stepless rotary ring from 1lm + TA30C's UI minus the strobe would literally be a holy grail for me.

1000 lm with a 18650 without step down is impossible 😂…

      @@callofduty60There's been quite a few Weltools and nitecores that can sustain >1000lm post-stedown. P22R, MH12SE, T19, T12 to name a few.

i was wondering when HDS Systems would show up here. I've owned a 188650 Rotary 200 lumen High CRI for about 8 years. Just recently picked up a 16340 Rotary with the 5000K Hi CRI Samsung LH351D emitter. I have that emitter in other lights and love it.. A little bit brighter, and a bit more throw. Still built for long run times. That's why Henry takes an emitter that can produce 1000 lumens, but only drives them to max efficiency. At some point using power to produce lumens you reach a point of diminishing returns. These lights take a CR123 to maximum efficiency. That's why they are "The Light That Gets You Home.".

Great video. I have so far bought several of them starting from EDC Ultimate 60 in 2005. The rotary one is in my disaster prep kit. LE with long throw is part of my EDC, too. They are not the brightest, but they excel in the department of constant output through their runtime, dual fuel capability and reliability. Very unique and user oriented light with no frills.

Great video, as always. I think if you get an Eiger Ultra from Peak LED Solutions, you'll have a complete collection of every fantastic light that's made in America! The Logan 17500 from them with the battery kit might also be a neat choice.
Not only are you often to only channel reviewing these lights, but you've got really the most helpful reviews.

Solid upgrade is a streamlight protac pocket clip for better retention. The stock one feels to slick when pocketing and not very secure

SHAME THIS DESIGN AND TECH IS 20+ YEARS OLD..NOT TO MENTION THE INSANE COST.
    GET A FENIX

    • @BOOSTEDLASER
      @BOOSTEDLASER 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

TO BE CLEAR : NOT HATING,NOT AT ALL. BUT FENIX AND AT LEAST 5 OTHERS ( THESE DAYS) ARE SIMILAR QUALITY.SIMILAR REGULATION. U CAN GET BOOST OR BOOST/BUCK ON 100S OF LIGHTS NOW. SOME LIGHTS ARE EVEN POTTED. HE DOESNT USE THE BEST CURRENT LEDs (USUALLY).NO EASY TO CHARGE SYSTEM.
I DONT CARE ABOUT THE LOOKS, IM A FUNCTION OVER FORM GUY ( I THINK THEY LOOK COOL,NOT THAT MEANS A DAMN THING).
YOU CAN GET A LITERALLY A LIGHT AS TOUGH AND AS REGULATED FOR 20-30$ WITH THE SAME OR BETTER OUTPUT. IN THE END...300-400$ IS JUST SILLY. I GET KINDA SMALL BATCH/HAND MADE -ISH. BUT THIS IS JUST A RIPOFF. I MEAN YOU CAN GET A FENIX ( OR OTHERS) OF THE SAME QUALITY FOR 60 BUCKS OR LESS. HECK, FLASH SALE RN I SEE A LIGHT ( I HAVE TESTED AND USED) FOR 20 BUCKS THATS NICER. AGAIN ,NOT HATING. HENRY SEEMS LIKE A NICE GUY. EVEN AT 150$ (BASE) THESE ARE OVER PRICED. I MAKE STUFF, QUITE A BIT...AND MOD. I KNOW COSTS OF SUCH THINGS. I CAN GUESS HIS COSTS . PAYING HIM 300/HOUR FOR HIS TIME IS KIND CRAZY (IMHO).
I DO LIKE THAT HE DOESNT USE 5-10 SEC LONG DUMB "TURBO" MODES.
AT THE END, HE DOES THIS FOR MONEY.HE WOULD MAKE M U C H MORE IF HE HAD A PRICE IN LINE WITH OTHERS IN THE MARKET.YOU HAVE TO MAKE WHAT PEOPLE WANT.FOR 99% THAT INCLUDES USB OR MAGNETIC CHARGE.
ANYWAY MOST I HAVE EVER TYPED.
I HAD 2 OF THESE MANY YEARS AGO.
1 FAILED ON ME ( AT A BAD TIME)
THE SECOND HAD A MINOR ISSUE.
      PERHAPS 1 IN A MILLION ISSUES...WHO KNOWS.
(NOW) TO ME THIS IS LIKE BUYING A BRAND NEW 1988 MUSTANG 5.0 TODAY THAT COST 400 GRAND.
      SEMPER FI
      GUNNY
TO THE OP ( IF U READ THIS) NICE VIDS YOU DO.

Interesting light. I never heard of them but they are bulletproof.

LEO wouldn’t use a light below 500 lumens. It’s not bright enough. The light is too short for a tail switch/hammer fist use. The light emitter tends to be buried too close to the hand with the thumb awkwardly crammed.
The assertion that this a LE light shows the manufacturer/designer isn’t familiar with LEO needs and or actual LE experience.
Too many concessions in design for common LE usage. Could be a pocket backup, definitely not a primary light.
This light being impacting by shot fired from a shotgun is entertaining but ultimately unimpressive.

For regular law enforcement duties yes, but I know plenty of CPF members that use an HDS as their backup light. It’s not the city provided light but it is built with law enforcement uses in mind. Plain clothes and narcotics officers tend to use smaller lights, which are often personal preference for the officer

This doesn’t seem to be a long throw. Very low lumens. Candela seems to be low as well. I noticed you didn’t shine it up on the tower thingy like you normally do. This is going to be a hard pass for me.
