DDFF - A brief guide on timing Jecht combos

A quick little video to help with some (but not all) combo timings. Please use the playback speed function for more thorough digestion. Video runs at 60 fps, game runs at 30 fps, used the DualShock 4 controller and OBS studio + input viewer for input display. Played on PPSSPP v1.1.1-222 build.
A more in-depth guide on DDDF Jecht may come out at a later date.

Years after not playing for so long, still managed to do his midair combo but not his ground like last time. Man i swear i got surprised i can still pull that shit, now gonna learn to perfect the ground moves from this vid

Jecht was an absolute beast of a character.
Even without a bravery-to-HP skill, he's still pre-built to combo into an HP.

I know I'm late but when I run the game on PPSSPP it's very pixely, probably because it's upscaled that much. How did you get that relatively crisp graphics/textures? I'm pretty sure it wasn't as bad back then as it's on my emulator right now...

These combos can be completed without charging Jecht Stream or Jecht Rush in advance. Carelessly spamming Jecht Stream can be quite dangerous however, due to it's recovery time.

3-frame input combos still exist there, though they're a bit different in application!

How did you get japanese audio??

I used an undub maker, a japanese version of duodecim and american version of duodecim to achieve the result. The undub maker is not very easy to find these days though.
Chinese version of the game has japanese voice-over along with english text if you're interested in alternatives.

Just found out about the combo and trying it for two days but not even once I succeed. I think its impossible

Even with visual aid, the timing can feel counterintuitive. I remember struggling to complete a single combo in quick battle all those years ago on the PSP... that's not to say they're impossible, but I want you know that it's okay to feel that way and that it can be overcome with more practice.

@@Muggshotter Thank you. I'm still trying and sometimes I can do the Air combo but I can't connect to HP attack, I just throw the opponent. Yeah and since I don't understand anything about this game, I just found out that I haven't even completed this game😂. I thought I completed this game storymode years ago but no. No wonder I don't have Desperado Chaos.

@@NeZGaEE The air combo into downward finisher is one I'd recommend practicing first. The two "hammering" hits makes it a bit easier to time the HP button press and the timing window itself is larger than most other combos. But just getting the full BRV combo is pretty good already! It's plenty of work just getting that far.
The story scenario 000 is a good opportunity to practice the combo timing some more, as it lets you build a full party with most characters in the game. There's a lot to do in just that mode alone, so try to pace yourself if you can!

@@Muggshotter Thanks a lot. I was about to give up but, I will try the air combo one which you recommend. If I felt like its impossible I don't think I can continue but till I will try. I am not good at games so thats why I think its taking me a lot of time😂.
And I beat the Desperado Chaos two days ago😎. Im playing him as a character and holy shit he is so powerful🤯.
