I am so happy you are actually following the timeline. I get so annoyed when people miss the Wedding of Sarah Jane story as part of the final stories of 10.
Oh man, you’re in for a treat with Children of Earth. I remember July 2009 so well because of two things that coincided for me (well, three). I spent the week that CoE aired in hospital recovering from surgery. It was also my 20th birthday. I remember watching Children of Earth every evening on the ward TV absolutely rapt with attention. It was SO good, and distracted me from the pain! 😂
I've mentioned this in the comments before, but there are two animated David Tennant specials. They're *The Infinite Quest* (set during Martha's era) and *Dreamland* (which aired between *The Waters of Mars* and *The End of Time Part 1).* I know it's optional content, but if you want more Tenth Doctor, it's there to watch. Maybe once you complete Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures, you can watch some classic Doctor Who? There are so many great stories from the classic era. Don't rush through the new stuff, there are lots of other Who content. Off the top of my head, these are the ones I'd recommend, regarding what you have watched and what is coming (I'll try and avoid spoilers, while hinting at why you should watch them); There is a dvd boxset called *Doctor Who - The Beginning* which I'd recommend picking up, which features the following three stories; *An Unearthly Child (four parts, 1963)* - Introduces the First Doctor. The first ever Doctor Who serial. *The Daleks (seven parts, 1963-1964)* - Features the First Doctor. The second ever Doctor Who serial, which introduces the Daleks. *The Edge of Destruction (two parts, 1964)* - Features the First Doctor. The third ever Doctor Who serial, kind of a coda to the Daleks. Hey, it's in the boxset. And then after that boxset, at least to begin with, I'd recommend the following; *The Dalek Invasion of Earth (six parts, 1964)* - Features the First Doctor. The second Dalek story. And features another important moment in Doctor Who history. May have been referenced in this story. *The Tenth Planet (four parts, 1966)* - Features the First Doctor. Introduces a classic recurring Doctor Who monster. *The Power of the Daleks (six parts, 1966)* - Features the Second Doctor. Dalek story. Partially lost, so some episodes have been reanimated. *The Invasion (eight parts, 1968)* - Features the Second Doctor. Features a classic recurring monster. Officially introduces UNIT. Partially lost, so some episodes have been reanimated. *Spearhead from Space (four parts, 1970)* - Introduces the Third Doctor. The first Doctor Who serial in colour. Introduces UNIT as a recurring element. Introduces a classic recurring monster. *The Terror of the Autons (four parts, 1971)* - Features the Third Doctor. Features a recurring monster. Introduces a classic recurring villain. *The Time Warrior (four parts, 1973)* - Features the Third Doctor. Introduces Sarah Jane Smith. Introduces a classic recurring monster. *Genesis of the Daleks (six parts, 1975)* - Features the Fourth Doctor, and introduces Davros. Features the Daleks, and their genesis. *Doctor Who: The Television Movie (movie, 1996)* - Introduces the Eighth Doctor. The only official story released between the classic series getting cancelled in 1989, and being revived in 2005. So, it exists between both eras. I totally skipped over Doctors Five, Six and Seven. And they're great Doctors. But a lot of their stories reference and continue earlier stories. The ones I've suggested either introduce elements which reappear in the modern era, are interconnected in some way, or feature historic moments in Doctor Who history. I'm sure others would have other recommendations, but that's my two cents. I really hope that at some point you consider going back to the classic era.
"The man who keeps running, never looking back because he dare not out of shame." That montage of the Doctor's fallen comrades gets me every single time.

As much as I love Doctor Who I’ve literally never heard that, however that’s now absolutely my head cannon. The Doctor and Rose still got to go on their travels❤️
@@phantomsidious2934 Unfortunately, a Doctor who knows he can be taken out by a virus or a stray bullet isn't going to be nearly as effective, especially when he's got a family to go home to. It was a nice resolution for Rose, but that Doctor is going to be fairly toothless.
This is my favourite double episode. This one is incredible. The fact that Donna and the Doctors timelines were manipulated by Dalek Khan. He giggled when the Tardis came back!! He was also able to enable the other doctor to destroy the daleks !
I really like how the episode ended off. No crazy surprise leading into the Christmas special with Tennant repeatedly saying "What?!" Just pure, somber loneliness. It really drives the tragedy home.
And it is such a contrast to the previous scene when you compare the fully occupied controls (with the companions gathered around it) vs the end with just the Doctor by himself in the control room😢
The interesting thing is, they did film an alternative ending which did have the Cybermen appearing in the TARDIS behind The Doctor when he says 'What, What?, What?!' but they cut it because the pacing and also the tone just ruins the sombre ending of the episode, so they left it with him alone in the TARDIS. You can probably find the alternative ending on youtube.
It's interesting how her losing her memory is essentially a mirror of regeneration. In timelord regeneration all they can keep is their memories. For Donna it's the one thing she couldn't keep.

We were shouting at the screen all series when you kept calling them The Doctor The Donna, as we knew what was coming! I love how Rose's story ends, it gives fans the happy ending without spoiling the Timelord-Assistant dynamic. Bernard Cribbin's Wilf is definitely the NPC of the show, so many guest appearances (including one in Old Who) and such a loveable character. I can't wait to watch your reaction to the specials - thank you!
This was so great! All of the companions coming together. Donna's fate really is tragic. All of her character growth through travelling with the Doctor gone. RTD was the showrunner for the 2009 specials.
Donna's fate wrecked me. I hadnt even thought of them just being a one series combo. I identified with her so much , not to overexplain, but at the time I was in a similar place in life to her , this was somehow worse than dying. Being sent back to your old self. But at least The Doctor gets that little dig in at her Mam to do better. Oh Donna. The moment in the Tardis when she starts glitching, I always want to turn to a Reactor, if they were with me, in that moment and say 'I'm so so sorry I couldn't warn you or prepare you for this !' I ugly cried.
One of the saddest endings of one of the greatest series ever. There have been some fantastic Tardic Crews during the years, but the Doctor-Donna were, to me, great. Thanks for a brilliant reaction 🎉
Them ending this immense amazing episode on a down is surprisingly impactful. So much joy but not without tragedy. I am always glad the Doctor kind of tells off Donna's mum for always being down on her. And Wilfred is still just the best character I'm glad to see all the episodes of the spin offs lining up with the specials. I was hoping you'd get Sarah Jane lined up especially 😊
"It was so much!" And there we have it, in a nutshell! So many highs, with all the past companions coming together to save the universe - the 'towing the Earth back home' scene is so incredible from a fan point of view! And possibly the lowest low of the whole DW universe. The 'death' of Donna Noble was so INCREDIBLY HEARTBREAKING!!!!! It still had me in floods, even seeing your edited down version. Singing songs of The Doctor Donna! A legacy she will know nothing about, but so fitting. It's been brilliant being able to watch you discover this programme that was a central part of our family life at that time - and see your emotional reaction to things that were so important to us back then.
Dnna's ending always makes me sad and the music "The Rueful Fate of Donna Noble" gets me every time. You can actually hear it in a few of the episodes this season when something sad was happening with Donna.
Thank you so much for your reaction, it was so emotional. In all this Doctor Who's journey, Donna was one of the most moving companion, probably because she never thought she was important or special. With her and her grandfather, the Doctor found almost a true family. I miss her so much. Be patient, there will be great moments with Eleven too. But we'll never forget Doctor Donna 😊
I just love Donna so much, or maybe more correctly Donna & Wilf. Such a beautifully tragic ending, and I love it because of that. Donna deserved a spine tingling exit, and she gets it. It's so much worse than dying for me, and more impactful because of that. I still well up, and when you get a reactor who you know has signed onto the series and Donna, and you know what's coming - perfection. Loved it.
From starting out with plastic Mickey and giant farting aliens, no one is ever prepared for the moments that just rip out your heart and stomp it into the dirt. The show really does have a huge variety and no other show can make me cry like a baby no matter how many times I watch it.
Chris, Thank you! I was away and didn't get to see this until tonight. It was a wonderful reaction. Thank you for watching with your heart. Thoroughly enjoying the journey with you!
I couldn't help but smile this season every time you called her "The Donna"... I wouldn't dream of ruining your current feeling about the show. Regardless of what happens in the future or not, enjoy the now.... There's another show that I watched and after season 4 something happened on social media and the actor was fired... and because of that, it ruined my experience with the last two seasons since his character was such a big part of why I started watching the series in the first place.
I am relatively new to your channel. However, wow your reactions were my reactions and I really appreciate seeing a fellow person appreciate Donna the way I have. Many British people do not like her and she is my companion favourite forever. Weekly viewings of Dr Who is genuinely the way it was suppose to work so you do you! I am just jealous you don't have to wait for the Christmas specials like we did cause that was forever!! Also prewiring your tears are going to be free flowing as you keep going I have constantly cried watching this show but David will always be my Dr. Thank you for doing such fantastic reactions. Cannot wait for the next one.
Even though I enjoy others... David will always be my Doctor as well. No better team-up than Tennant & Tate as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't say that a lot of Brit fans hate Donna though. In late 2022, she was voted favorite companion... getting 23%. Captain Jack came in 2nd at 21%... 3rd was Rose at only 11%. It was a Radio Times poll... which is mostly a UK publication... with thousands of votes. So it's fair to say that those who dislike Donna are a minority.
Absolutely loved this video, and really loved your reaction and thoughts afterwards. Really appreciate being able to relive my favourite show through your reactions like this
I am 100% convinced you will keep liking the Doctor Who run, cause I watched your reaction to 'Fear Her' and I never forgot how that one episode I didn't like much, you gave me so much insight and suddenly I'm more okay with that episode. That's your power. Your Whovian soul is gigantic and I'm here to enjoy that. And ofcourse your mindblown reactions.
You are strong for getting through this. You’ve made it through Journey’s End. There’s more pain to come, but this is a rite of passage. You’re a real Whovian.
There’s been people talking negatively about Doctor Who for a long time. I feel ya. I just want to enjoy the show. Just keep an open mind through each season, and you can make up your own mind about what you like or don’t like. We’ll keep on journeying. ❤❤
The week-long wait after the previous episode first aired was mad. Everyone in the UK, including me, was going completely insane guessing at who the next Doctor would be! Such a massive victory followed by such a devastating loss. Donna's fate here really is the worst of any companion, in a way. If she had died, at least she'd have died with all of the wonderful experiences she had with The Doctor still intact for her. Now she has to live on without them, and she reverts back to who she was before The Doctor showed her how wonderful and brilliant she is. Turn Left showed us that she doesn't view herself as anything special or important and always looks down on herself. The Doctor being in her life fixed that, but now it's all come undone. Though with any luck The Doctor telling Sylvia to be nicer to her daughter will help Donna build her self-esteem. Wilf's promise to look out for The Doctor on Donna's behalf is beautiful. I think most of us were surprised there wasn't some crazy cliffhanger ending in the Tardis like there was the last few times! Just The Doctor, all sad and lonely, as he heads on into the special episodes...
So many EMOTIONS in this finale! Love all the companions coming together for an adventure. The Doctor -Donna bit with both of them saying “oy” like Donna does is hilarious. I still find myself saying “Exterminieren!!” randomly after all this time. This season finale is a great example of fan service mixed with a good story. Fans that have been watching since 2005 can enjoy many call backs and reunions, while the story keeps you entertained with plenty of mystery and tension. Love, love, love this season 4 finale. 🖤
Love your reactions. Whatever you think of what comes next, Dr Who was never bigger than it was at this time - that ep 12 cliffhanger had the whole country talking. They really were special times.
“Don’t you see what he’s trying to give you?” WEEPING!! Crying my eyes out. This goodbye is so hard. I think harder than their first goodbye. But also healing in so many ways. It’s very sad. Rose and the Doctor get their happy ending but it’s not really with each other. The KISS!!! Donna losing her memory of the Doctor is heartbreaking !!! 😢 Doctor-Donna forever 💙
I've never cried watching tv or cinema or anything. But that scene in the rain with wilf is just too much. I just can't help but tear up every damn time.
I am guessing the secret not so secret is that you will be watching Classic Who since you if I recall correctly have already mentioned that in the comments of your last video. Also, The Donna being the one companion The Doctor ‘created’ that did not turn into a ‘soldier’ but approached all situations with the maximum amount of empathy for everyone makes her being the one that had to ‘die’ all that more tragic. I am glad I got to experience all the emotions of this episode again with you as nothing beats seeing Who through a fresh set of eyes, all the more through a set of eyes that really ‘gets’ it.
You are AWESOME!!! I only discovered your videos yesterday and I love them. Watching you react to doctor who Is amazing. Seeing g you experience the show for the first time is so beautiful. You have such wonderful reactions it touches my heart. You make me laugh and cry at the episodes all over again. Experiencing the show with you I am having the best time. Thank you for the joy you are bringing me and so many others.
these 2 are my favorite episodes. just brings back memories of the old youtube. i remember watching these when they were uploaded by people in england and watched like 2 weeks before america got the episodes.
Oh man I was so eternally pumped watching the last episode that I forgot to comment -- it was SO difficult to watch this episode come out for members. One of these days you will see me join your channel, I promise. Making a review series of CoE so I really can't wait for your reaction!
Oh my heart... I felt so much with this and hugging my coffee mug is as close as I can get to finding comfort after these losses. I don't know if I'd watched 4 again after the first time (back when it originally aired) but seeing it now after all these years, yearning all episode for that kiss, aching with his reborn passion and anger, and knowing what's coming, especially with the goodbyes I never wanted to see again, I just...I feel it all again like it's the first time. Oh the feels, big BIG feels!!
If you want more of Tennant and Tate, check out their performance of Much Ado About Nothing done in 2011. (You can find clips of it on TH-cam, and sometimes the whole thing...otherwise you can rent it). It has become my absolute favorite version of one of Shakespear's plays. It's the original, but set in the late 80s/early 90s. From start to finish, it's incredible. The Bard would be proud. 😁
Yes Russell T Davies is the showrunner for the David Tennant specials which are must sees for continuity. (They are: The Next Doctor, Planet of the Dead, Waters of Mars and the final two parter :The End of Time). Stephen Moffat's tenure as showrunner begins with "The Eleventh Hour".
I had so much fun rewatching this vicariously with you! And definitely take your time, it’s so much better that way. You have to sit with DW to appreciate it, especially all of the stuff coming up for you 👀 Just want to say it really pays to remember some of the themes and ideas brought up in this finale and keep them in mind for later stuff. Moffat carries forward a lot of interesting themes with 10 into 11 and especially 12 that make such an interesting throughline. I won’t say more than that but I’ll be back for your reactions to the specials!
There is this deleted scene of after the doctor says goodbye to donna and speaks with Will and takes of, the sound of the TARDIS is heard and Donna slightly turns around and stops talking through the phone for a bit
Literally binge watched all your doctor who reactions. Only found you yesterday and I’ve been looking for a channel that reacts to doctor who for quite a while too so I’m very happy I’ve found you. Also love the content and I like the fact your not afraid to show emotion in your videos too. Now I’m off to watch your torchwood playlist.
I usually stop this episode before the end because it is so heartbreaking, even all these years later. The bit the gets me every time is Wilf's goodbye on the doorstep 😭
Donna is and will ALWAYS be my favorite companion, there is just no one else in the universe like her. And all i can say about her and Tennants return (since u already know it happens) is that it brought me soooo much joy and i cannot wait to see your reaction to it, There is just so much magic with those two.
I found Donna’s send off more traumatising than when 10 went. I was a big advocate for CT when she was cast in Runaway Bride, I think one of my first TH-cam squabbles was calling out people slagging her off before she’d even been seen in the programme. Ah happy times😂 I knew she would knock it out of the park.
Good on you! I was prepared to like her, but hadn’t seen her. Then she was SO good inThe Runaway Bride. & I love, love, loved the miming in Partners in Crime, just set the seal. I’ve still seen very little of her comedy show, wasn’t at all keen on Granny.
@@judithstrachan9399 I wasn’t actually a big fan of some of her comedy characters but I saw her range, comedians usually turn out quite good at proper acting and I’d seen her in other things that were more subtle so I was confident she’d be fine.
I'd strongly recommend you go looking for the production of Much Ado About Nothing with David Tennant and Catherine Tate. It's the most fun version of a Shakespeare play that I've ever seen.
the most devastating thing about what happened to donna was that she became such a good person because of her travels. This was my favorite duo. 2023 ended up being a pretty good year on my doctor who front lol

*The Dalek Invasion of Earth (six parts, 1964)* - Features the First Doctor. The second Dalek story. And features another important moment in Doctor Who history. May have been referenced in this story.
*The Tenth Planet (four parts, 1966)* - Features the First Doctor. Introduces a classic recurring Doctor Who monster.

Can't wait
"You're the destroyer of worlds!"- Davros, just minutes after attempting to delete all of reality
Oh he's a scamp isn't he 😅
Well, he attempted and the Doctor did. I sense envy.
He'd make a good Dalek
He was a psychopathic race-supremacist _before_ he went insane, don't expect his logic to make sense.
It's because the doctor asks davros in genesis of the daleks if he had the power to destroy the universe would he, and davros said yes he would
I giggled to myself every you called her, “The Donna” and how you struggled with it. It’s almost like the universe was telling you the future.
The incomparable, legendary Bernard Cribbins. Rest in Peace, wonderful man.
and have another cup of tea
We all cried in this episode. Every time I watch, my heart soars then breaks all over again
*getting the tissues ready. Still cry over Donna all these years later.
"The man who keeps running, never looking back because he dare not out of shame." That montage of the Doctor's fallen comrades gets me every single time.
specifically the ones that willingly died for him 😢
It really hurts when you also remember that most of them didn't die for him, they died to protect other people.
This is a case and point on why every doctor who fan ever worships Bernard Cribbins, he really is an angel.
Case and point is yet to come, but this episode is pretty great
I grew up in Canada, so I didn't know of him til Doctor Who. But what a career he'd had!!

"I saw the truth of us, creator, and I decreed: No more!"
Interesting choice of words there, Dalek Caan...
My thoughts exactly!
@@ziggythedrummer and mine. Almost like he’d heard them before somewhere….
Well, after, anyway.
Dnna's ending always makes me sad and the music "The Rueful Fate of Donna Noble" gets me every time. You can actually hear it in a few of the episodes this season when something sad was happening with Donna.
Thank you for releasing your reaction to part 2 so quickly, big support to you 👍
Russell T. Davies doesn’t leave until David does. Though the incoming showrunner tends to write their incoming Doctor’s regeneration
Hey, I like your emotional reactions, it shows how you love those characters! Big hugs from France!
The music. The drum beats just before he wipes her mind. Murray Gold kills this episode. So many beats.
The Rueful Fate of Donna Noble 😢
I just love Donna so much, or maybe more correctly Donna & Wilf. Such a beautifully tragic ending, and I love it because of that. Donna deserved a spine tingling exit, and she gets it. It's so much worse than dying for me, and more impactful because of that. I still well up, and when you get a reactor who you know has signed onto the series and Donna, and you know what's coming - perfection. Loved it.
Donna’s ending is the saddest of all the companions. She really was brilliant and to have that all taken away 😭
Cut to: a broken gold star lies on the ground
From starting out with plastic Mickey and giant farting aliens, no one is ever prepared for the moments that just rip out your heart and stomp it into the dirt. The show really does have a huge variety and no other show can make me cry like a baby no matter how many times I watch it.
Been watching Doctor Who since the Tom Baker years.
Seeing Sarah Jane and Davros meet again sent chills through me. 13:22
Finally! The Donna! I swear you're a little bit psychic, you pick up on these things it's wonderful ^-^
"I decreed No More" well, he was sent back into the Time War, makes sense he would use the words No More...iykyk
@@anomalysakawendy5096, good to hear.
"Will he regenerate into more David Tennant?" More and more David Tennant, actually.
That “the Doctor’s soul is revealed, see him, see the very heart of him” moment is amazing.
Thanks for loving Donna!
Absolutely loved this video, and really loved your reaction and thoughts afterwards. Really appreciate being able to relive my favourite show through your reactions like this
Oh I just want to give him a hug!
I love your videos, you are a very genuine and open person, which makes your reactions great. I look forward to seeing your reactions to season 5-6!
The Donna is here.
Been a pleasure to go on this journey with you!
Am sharing this with some ladies I am in a group with. They will enjoy your reaction. 😊
Donna was my favorite companion of new who. Just the best. The two of them were fantastic together, best buds traveling together.
I feel that you need a hug after all this drama
You are strong for getting through this. You’ve made it through Journey’s End. There’s more pain to come, but this is a rite of passage. You’re a real Whovian.
There’s been people talking negatively about Doctor Who for a long time. I feel ya. I just want to enjoy the show. Just keep an open mind through each season, and you can make up your own mind about what you like or don’t like. We’ll keep on journeying. ❤❤
I was a wreck when these two episodes aired. Thank you for sharing your emotions with us. Had me welling up all over again.
Watching u cry at the end man, I just wish I could have given ya a hug man. 😂😢 I totally get how you feel. Peak Dr Who...
"I saw him! I saw the Doctor!"
"Yes, you did, Donna. And then you *forgot* ."
Donna is an will always be the best companion.
I sobbed right along with you 😭 Ugh
“Don’t you see what he’s trying to give you?” WEEPING!!
Crying my eyes out. This goodbye is so hard. I think harder than their first goodbye. But also healing in so many ways. It’s very sad. Rose and the Doctor get their happy ending but it’s not really with each other.
The KISS!!!
Donna losing her memory of the Doctor is heartbreaking !!! 😢 Doctor-Donna forever 💙
I just love your reactions! So glad you're enjoying the series so much. Keep up the wonderful work!
My heart aches for Donna, all she wanted was to travel with the Doctor
Ah, we’re finally here! It was so heartbreaking at the time!
Still heartbreaking, just not quite as much.
Yay!!! I've been looking forward to this! Such an amazing pair of episodes.
Imagine, with all this scale, it's not even the end! That's what fascinates me about this series finale every time.
These past 3 episodes are peak doctor who if you ask me. They’re always the ones I go back to if I’m feeling nostalgic
The only scene in Who that wrecks me more than Wilf saying goodbye, is the: "You didn't know I was coming. Why would you set a place for me?"
Spoilers aren't big or clever.
@@robvanriot just HOW is that a spoiler? Unless you have the context for it, it is an utterly meaningless statement you can't even see coming.
The Steven Moffat era - prepare a flow chart - you'll need it.
This episode gets me every time. Can’t help but cry
Glad you’re enjoying the content!
And again Jacqui King plays a blinder here, I totally get Sylvia’s attitude to the Doctor at the end.
I have seen the end of this episode so many times, and it still makes me weep!
I usually stop this episode before the end because it is so heartbreaking, even all these years later. The bit the gets me every time is Wilf's goodbye on the doorstep 😭
The music really just fits everywhere in this finale.
Donna is and will ALWAYS be my favorite companion, there is just no one else in the universe like her. And all i can say about her and Tennants return (since u already know it happens) is that it brought me soooo much joy and i cannot wait to see your reaction to it, There is just so much magic with those two.
These two episodes are my favorites, and they break my heart every time.
Palpatine is probably sooooo jealous that the Daleks outdid him!!!! 😏😂🙄
And Bad Wolf Bay is Southerndown beach on Dunraven Bay in the Vale of Glamorgan.
I’ve had to put this off for a week because I’m not ready to relive these emotions. But I’m ready now… here we go…..
Alternate title: The Doctor Donna or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Reality Bomb
Clever!
'and I decreed 'No more!'' Love this.
The German Castle is actually Castell Coch (The Red Castle) in Tongwynlais - in the northern outskirts of Cardiff.
that's it. 😭😭😭
I'd strongly recommend you go looking for the production of Much Ado About Nothing with David Tennant and Catherine Tate. It's the most fun version of a Shakespeare play that I've ever seen.
YES! I went looking for it. Loved it.
the most devastating thing about what happened to donna was that she became such a good person because of her travels. This was my favorite duo. 2023 ended up being a pretty good year on my doctor who front lol
-I'm just a temp!
Temp - temporary - temporal.......... just letting it that sit
Binary, Binary, Binary... Gets me every time
