Mötley Crüe performing live (not really, check out that lip sync job!) on the 1997 AMA's. This was their first official public appearance together following the MC94 album.
I remember watching this! In the era when Alternative Rock was getting outta hand and controlled the airwaves and Music TV, this was a breath of fresh air!
I love Motley Crue, and this is a kick ass rendition of the song. But anyone who has heard Vince Neil actually sing live knows that it sounds nothing like this polished prerecorded audio track, with fully enunciated words LOL.
I remember it like it was yesterday, that reunion brought happy tears to my eyes. I was alone in my living room celebrating like a crazed animal, and im pretty sure the entire rock nation was doing the same thing. I would be very surprised and disappointed if it wasnt the real deal. Any real Crue fan would know that they would never in that situation represent any thing less than perfection. Sound and sight travel at two entirely different speeds, until one of the sound crew or any one that was back stage for that performance comes forward with any evidence (which obviously would have happened long ago) i cant go with the conspiracy. SHOUT FUKURS
Dude, the fact is Mick Mars can only play one guitar part of a song Live at a time. You hear both rythmn and lead guitars... Dude, this was not a fully live performance. Just a fact. Suggest you live in reality bruh!
Nikki Sixx said in the past that they had played to a track of the song, and the producers I think demanded it be done. It happens more than you think with some of these shows. Usually the band has no choice if they want the slot.

Lars Ulrich even commented on it which started a little bit of drama that didn't last too long between them. I think it was even as late as 2016 (could have been earlier) that Vince defended it, saying lip syncing isn't "rock and roll."

Anyway, one of the Metallica fuckboys accused us that night for trying to fit in with the times given the fact that "Shout" had been remade into a more industrial sound. They were right to a point but they seemed to forget that those two "Load" of shit records were doing the exact same thing. Nikki called them out in Motley's defense afterwards questioning Metallica's recent use of eyeliner and leather pants.
That's the great thing about music or any other art form. Beauty is in the eyes or in this case, ears of the beholder but in my opinion, I will take Motley over Metallica any fucking day.

We finished this remix two days before this show. They literally decided the day before to do it because they loved the remix Rave and i did.
