This is the first mowing of the year (Memorial Day Weekend) for a horse pasture. In the video I’m using a 570 Polaris Spirtsman and a 44” Swisher Rough Cut Mower.
I have the same mower and had to weld the tow bar back together after hitting a tree. My problem presently is chewing up belts from the original. Towed with a Suzuki 500 4x4 and going to try with my Artic Cat 500.
As you can probably tell my tow bar was repaired a few times and I finally just welded it (no more pivoting). Probably next year i think im just cutting the whole thing off and welding some strong tube steel to it to get rid of the bow in it. Are you chewing up belts on the mower or on the quad? If it’s the mower you can probably do something to adjust the idler pulley. If you go to my PTO repair video there should be a shot of how it’s setup
I do but only when the radiator sucks in a lot of seed pods. I keep a close eye on the temperature and make sure to flush out the radiator after summer mowings. I have another video on my channel where I show how I clean the radiator. I’ve thought about mounting a piece of plexiglass to my bumper to try to keep the seeds at bay.
This was in a horse pasture so the grass in it isn’t as thick as in the field. In a thicker field it will miss some, I have a video from last year where you can see some of that. The blades were freshly sharpened and I also changed the spindle bearing that seemed to help alittle as well.
