Mark, thanks so much for this informative video. I put a new FTDX101MP on the air last Wednesday and began asking for comments on my audio. The best I could get was "ok". On Saturday I watched your video and now repeatedly get unsolicited reports of "WOW, what great audio". Thanks again, Merv, W2OE

Hi Mark. Thank you for briefing me up with your tutorial. Now it sounds really better. All the best to you. 73, DK4NS
Thanks for the great video. I have used your parameters with excellent results with the handheld microphone. Also with desk microphone MD 100 and M 70 Yaesu it's very good modulation. Congratulations for your job.
Hello Mark....I just wanted to thank you for this informative video. I have several Heil microphones from a few years ago that I wanted to use with my Yaesu FTDX 101 D, (Heil Goldline, Heil Pro Set Elite 6/Headset). Your video helped me get mine set-up so that I am getting regular comments on how good the tx audio sounds. Fantastic audio reports accompanied by phenominal noice reduction capabilities in this radio has made this the best radio I have ever owned. Thanks again Mark......Bob VA3TKO
Thanks Mark for this great tutorial! My audio was awful with the stock microphone, and now it sounds great on air. I am baffled how Yaesu could not get a normal sounding modulation out of the box.
Great video, and have watched a number of times. Can I ask what settings you use for the Heil Pro 7?? I have the same setup, but its hard to setup when you can’t here yourself
Hi Mark, thanks for all yours videos, Hugo here, CE3VEM , can you help me whit some recomendation for settings a microphone yaesu M-70 and , ftdx 101d, for DXs,?. I settings some valors but results are not good. best regards from Chile
Hi Hugo, I hope to be back with the MLS Team soon, so I will borrow a mic. In the meantime do try the settings I suggest. I will redo all the audio using a separate rx very soon, promise
Very complicated to tailor the audio. What happened to ease of setting the DSP audio like in radios such as the Yaesu FT-920? Menu of TX microphone DSP choices of OFF, 1, 2, 3, or 4. Simple. Non-confusing. Precise. OFF: DSP microphone equalization is disable. 1: Mid- and high-frequency components are enhanced . 2: A high-emphasis response is produced, ideal for pile-up or contest work. 3: Both low- ang high-emphasis response are produced. 4: A wide bandpass response is produced, emulating a “Broadcast” microphone audio characteristic.
Mark, nice explanations. i am going to buy this radio soon. Could we make a sked, so i can hear your audio ? I am on at the 80 DX windows nearly every night ( Dl9NDW ) in the DX Nets up there.
@@ackerkenton Hi Mark, i meanwhile have mine and according to my friends i seemed to have found a perfect setting. anyway, if you like we can have a sked. I am on 80 meters in the late evening nearly all days up there in the DX Window as DL9NDW . I use a simple Skype style light headset.

Hi ...any suggestions for AM settings ...I am getting reports of muffled audio on TX
what about on the new firmware, AMC is on always now, are these settings still good for the new firmware ? thanks
Do you use the same settings for the MD-100? And what settings in the mic itself?
We should all meet on radio to do a mic check event :)
Fixed the muffled low range on Ftdx3000, as the stock Eq was unfortunate. ;-)
bonjour je n'arrive pas avoir plus de 50W en sifflant en usb et pourtant 100W en FM un reglage ???? avec micro d origine merci 73

So that is why you sound like Darth Vader !

An explanation of the AMC control would be really helpful.
cut that damn compressor off and set the bandwidth wide
