I am ridiculously impressed by anyone who could pack for international travel in a daypack. There’s even some room left there for souvenirs. Or you can even just fill souvenirs in that tote bag. Street food and groceries in Bali are cheap. Such a great video! If you had used packing cubes for the clothes you would have better organization in there. But giiiiiirrrllll. I. Am. IMPRESSED!
Thank you so much! I had considered packing cubes but didn't want to buy more things but it worked file without them. I find that small things need their own little bag because of how easy it is to lose them but larger items - although perhaps a tad cumbersome when looking for things - aren't too much of an issue. We're going to Berlin this week and the challenge I've set myself is to carry both my AND my partner's things in that one bag. We're only there for two nights mind so it shouldn't be too difficult but that video will be coming soon! Thanks again for your comment!
Carmen Elaine thanks for the reply! I see! My clothes always get jumbled up in my bag so thats why next time Ill definitely try packing cubes! Yes you should definitely make that video on the Berlin trip. Also, i hope you had a good holiday and enjoy your next trip!!
I think you made a great choice of things you take with you. I would take one thing more - an emergency/survival kit with essentials you could need if you or somebody else get injured or sick. And a small pocket knive or multitool. You could never need these things on your journey, but if you do even once, you'd never regret carrying them in your backpack. I really enjoy your videos :)
Thank you so much :) That's a really good shout, yes. Actually, now you mention it, I have been without those things in the past and regretted it so I don't know why I didn't think of it. Suspect you've made my trip significantly more enjoyable with that comment, thank you!
Sorry I missed it... What is in the food containers? You mentioned quick dry, so I'm thinking some clothing items?🤔 Wait you said they are for cooking. But was something inside them so you don't waste packing space?
Ah, sorry! I've got my pants and socks in there - bad editing, sorry - but, yeah, I used them for packed lunches when I was there! And also for taking home left overs from restaurants on the odd occasion I left anything :)
I always have trouble to pack as light as I wished, even though I pack just one backpack, I always have that panic feeling about leaving something I need behind! It's not easy ...hahaha but with time, we will be able to get better I think. How many days did you pack for? and since you will wash clothes will you just buy detergent, etc, when you arrive? Or is that included?
I packed for twelve days and I was going to buy detergent but just ended up using washing up liquid (for dishes). I used regular soap for the first load but it didn't work properly but the washing up liquid did a great job. I think the anti-bacterial element is very important. I always used to overpack because I thought it'd be less likely that I'd worry I forgot something but, in truth, I think that's just a natural "can't go back now" anxiety that you'll get regardless of how much you take. As soon as the options are gone, there's always going to be a panic.
Thank you! I've thought that too! I've been taking it to work recently and it just fits all my stuff in. Still surprises me that I lived out of it for two weeks.
so nice, I just ordered one vegan backpack as it will replace 2-3 bags I own :) and wow props for packing so lightweight. I need one carry-on suitcase for international travel and I bring a backpack, so I can stow away my winter jacket and scarf for the plane :) but this is really inspiring to reduce it even further
I'm traveling this weekend, maybe I'll make a packing video since I don't have a video for Monday (And I will be gone) ♥ Plus it may help me not to over pack, Lol! Love this video, and you made me look at bamboo toothbrushes on Amazon 😂
Yessss, do it! Ooh also I wanted to ask, what do you use to your brush your teeth? I noticed on your morning routine video that there was some sort of dropper situation. What is that? In fact I'll go ask that again but on the video so if anyone else was wondering then they can read the answer. See you on your channel! Ooh and enjoy your trip!
Haha! I did! This is very embarrassing, but I packed them in the food containers you can see and I did talk about them. But in England we call underwear "knickers", and when I was editing the video it sounded like I was saying a highly improper word so I had to edit it out. 🙈
@@CarmenElaine I'm glad I read through the comments! I didn't really understand why you breezed past the containers! Ha! Now I understand why.! Good thinking and thanks for sharing ♥️👍
Hi Carmen! I am a new subscriber to your channel and I absolutely love it! :) thank you for such lovely content! I was wondering if you posted this video's song somewhere? I am a little bit obsessed with it :) Thank you!
Thank you so much!! That song ended up turning into something else so the version on this video didn't make it into the world. If you drop me an email (info@nixemusic.com), I'll send you the track as it stands if you like.
Undies ?? i REALLY don't know how you are going to manage with so little ,you take a huge bottle and bowls etc but don't add a few more items of clothing

Hello Carmen.... How long did you stay in Bali with these? I've been watching videos about minimalist packing and yours is 😍😍

Amazing how all that stuff fits in your backpack!!!
Thank you! I've thought that too! I've been taking it to work recently and it just fits all my stuff in. Still surprises me that I lived out of it for two weeks.
Where you buy that bag to you shoes?

Great video! But I was surprised you didn't pack any nightwear or undergarments?
Haha! I did! This is very embarrassing, but I packed them in the food containers you can see and I did talk about them. But in England we call underwear "knickers", and when I was editing the video it sounded like I was saying a highly improper word so I had to edit it out. 🙈

The undies I deliberately didn't show but they were in the bowls. And it was completely fine!
