This was a very useful lesson for me because I was working on a song and I could hear that I needed to needed to descend. So I tried to use a descending chord pattern but it didn't sound right at all. I was actually in the same key as this example A Minor. I was on the F Major chord and I wanted to resolve back to A Minor. However I could hear in my head that I wanted to descend in 4 steps. So I tried using four chords to resolve back down to A Minor but frankly it sounded terrible. So I knew I was wrong. Then I tried power chords because they don't have a third so I thought that might work but it didn't. So I was rightly stumped. Then I did what this video did and I stayed on the F Major chord and just descended with four descending bass notes to A Minor and that sounded a lot better. It seemed to sound right. However I wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing but having watched this video I think I am on the right track. I would like to understand a little more of the theory behind this as frankly I was guessing in the dark. Anyway thanks for posting this because in my situation it had a real life application.
