The bass began to play lines instead of just the root at the beginning of the century. It went on to climb all chord notes and so became the walking bass. Everybody can instantly feel the "walking" character of this bass style. The piano soon adapted this accompanying figure for the left hand for blues (and jazz). In my tutorial I show you the basic principles of the walking bass pattern in blues piano in the key of C.
But we will also look at easy variations and some early tricks.
I will expand further in the second part inspecting extended blues forms and simulating upright bass playing techniques like "slaps".

Love your humor!! Keep joking while you teach! I'm subscribing based on your wit. Also like how you play with nuance which is actually rare in this techno world.

    GREAT TEACHING!
Every one can make easy stuff look complicated, but it takes a genious to make dificult stuff look easy. That is what professor Fuchs is doing in this tutorial. Just as he is always doing when giving lectures on line. It is for free, but just like in churh on sunday services you can give a voluntarely contribution.
I am allready looking forward to the following tutorials in the serie on walking bas.

thank you Christian! Piano lessons are always too much advanced or too much idiot, while you are offering a betweening style between the styles in between, that's i really needed indeed, and i think a good teacher is a grooving teacher.. I said

But if you change from a C blues to another scale, you must know the notes, not just the hand pattern.
