The track workers should have removed those white hubs because they are a flipping hazard like you just saw he would have slided safely into the mud but went into the hub which caused the flip.
Buck Rid Did 3.5 seasons mainly at turn 1 for Club and Arrive and Drive racing. Lap 1 was never boring and remember every single incident. Have even flown a kart myself.
Hello Everyone. This called racing. Do not blame the markers. Racing has it's risk. People are hurt or killed in racing. The so called idiot with the camera is there to take pictures and may not be authorized to be on the track, so do not jump the gun in your conclusions about him. Once again stuff happens in racing and and sad to say, people Will get hurt and or killed.
Still the track should take better precautions of a flip like that, like having an ambulance first hand in the middle of the track, so i blame the track but, yes stuff does happen in racing.
Brave little kart racer! It is interesting for us, in the UK, to see how things are done in the US. Particularly the care of the officials correctly immobilizing the neck - and the speed of the para-medics in attending at the circuit!
Same thing happened to me when I raced kart I hit the plates and rolled mine but I had miggit wing cart so I had a gage it’s scary my belts beat the hell out of my neck just thx full I was okay and am happy to see the boys okay
great response by the officials and everyone involved, but why are there not paramedics already trackside and ambulances closer to the track in case of incidents, this is mandatory in british msa motorsport. Good to see you were ok and back racing the next week all the best
Betty Swallox what the hell else is he standing there for ? Seriously, why is he there on the corner, if not too take photos. I guess he should have tried to catch the gokart in mid spin, thrown himself underneath the crashing car, that is going what 60-70 miles an hour ???? What a selfish asshole for not putting himself in harms way to save a kid ??? People on TH-cam tend to be such moronic fucking idiots, it makes one sad for the future of the human race. A select few people may be smart as hell in this world but the average American is dumber than fuck, seriously thinking impaired, and gets dumber by the hour. I'm not kidding. Its like common sense doesn't even fucking exist, and never did to begin with(whatever the fuck that means), people just go straight to 'dumb as FUCK' do not pass go, no money for you. So Betty what was the photographer supposed to do in this instance, set his two thousand dollar camera down in the dirt and run to help a child he could do nothing to help, why because he is not a paramedic, that's the two guys who run up seconds after the crash. In fact I am quite sure the photographer would have been instructed to NOT HELP, too stay the fuck out of the way in the case of a crash so that emergency services, what little there was, can do their job unimpeded(Google it dumbfuck), that's probably why he has that 'I don't know what the fuck I should be doing right now' look on his face .
First and foremost glad you are OK and got back out there!! I am sure this was posted before but: Why wasn't the EMT on site in a UTV ready to go at ALL times. 1 minutes passes before he shows. Time is critical. Why wasn't an ambulance on site, most if not all sanctioning bodies require it. Almost 5 minutes before rolling onto site. I have worked events that had to stop because an ALS ambulance had to leave the site because of injured driver,(btw I was a 1st responder at that time and working on race team not the track and arrived at scene with in 20 seconds from 50 yards away over 2 fences and grabbing my bag and I am not an athlete, victim had 2nd/3rd degree burns) The photographer should have gotten out of there if he is not helping, post a picture of my kid's accident and you sat there, @% need I say more Yeah there is more I could say about how it was responded to by the corner workers but off my soap box. Could all accidents be handled better? Yes!! We learn from the errors and mistakes we make, and get better. Training is key, Go Fast!! Have FUN!!!
Way back in the day when we raced without bodies, I can remember hooking a guy's wheel and flipping end over end 3 times. I remember my two older brothers caring me off the track. My kart was destroyed. It bent both the rear axle and frame. I recall convincing my older brother to let me borrow his kart for the feature. I started dead last and captured the feature. My brothers had to help me both into the kart, and life me out after the race. He then took me to the local hospital and I discovered I had 5 broken ribs, but if you love racing as I have, ( I have been involved in racing over50 yrs.) you know it is worth it.
quick question. ..is it just me or does anybody else have a problem with the photographer in the red shirt just standing and not helping the kid when he first flipped! !!???!!
Possible that he can't touch any karts. If he was to touch a kart, he is then liable for anything that might happen to the kid. It's all about insurance.
To all the fools in the comments, I spent years at this track, there are officials designated to helping drivers in the event of a crash like this. The photographer was not one of them and did nothing wrong.
Tyler, I liked how you raised your arm like the pros, after the crowd started clapping when they carried you to the ambulance. Pretty smart to remember to do that. 9/3/20
Oooooo! Common mistake we see in motor sports. Kid thought he could squeeze to the inside. Unfortunately didn't fully clear the kid that was already on the inside & he got tagged to the point where he lost control of the car as the result.
For all of the people wondering why these don't have a roll cage, its because they're "flat" karts, not designed to have them, and they typically don't have seat belts either so if something like this were to happen, the driver could roll out of the kart to somewhat safety. (Not really sure what happened here though) Now there are karts that are designed with roll cages such as champ karts, like the ones I race. The drivers have to recognize the danger that comes with driving these or else they wouldn't do it, simple as that.
I had a bad one myself back in "72"screwed up both knees and torn rotator cuff. I'm really paying residual for it today. We didn't have any para-medics back then but there was always an ambulance on hand.
nice compilation bro i love this video, and i would like to see it in my next crash compilation. Do you mind if i throw some crashes from this video to my next crash compilation ? I will give you full credits in the description..
I’ve seen worse. When i was at a track there was a 2-stroke kart that flipped over in a race. It tore off his skin, it was about an 1 inch wide, and it dug in about 1 inch in his leg. And thy had 2 Ambulances.
foxkart61 then he would have had a great time getting sued for breach of contract. you know that waver they make you sign? yea. it's a contract. he was following the rules of the track. the safety and medical personnel responded quickly and efficiently. the camera guy would have just gotten in the way.
The photographers aren't suppose to do anything or else he'd be in the way. There's a procedure and the track workers are following it. "Unless you're a parent or worker, stay off the track..."
Hmmm, nobody noticed the white (speed bumps, pylons)that obviously sent the car in a upward motion???If those weren't there, this accident probably never would have happened.
He's not a safety worker he's a photographer so if he helped he'd be in the way the announcer even announces "If your not a parent or worker get off the track."
Connor Allen He takes one picture of the crash and then stands there mouth breathing in the way of the video. That guy just spent 3500 on a camera and lens, doesn't make him a photographer. I do agree that he doesnt need to help as he is not part of the safety crew.
Every motorsports emergency staff I have worked with assures me that the 1st thing to do is control the field, 2nd evaluate the situation DO NOT rip a kart off of an injured driver until you have verified no further harm. then attend to the driver. the additional 15 to 30 seconds will not further the injuries but unplanned action may further hurt a driver. it is hard to see a racer get hurt then what looks like inaction take place. yet that is what it looks like when things are done correctly
I don't kmow... I race at Penn's Creek Raceway Pennsylvania. My very first race in the heat race...I ended up on the corner four wall... a tire went under my car and I was TOTALLY sideways! it was insane :o
OMG I cried when you flipped although I know you said in beginng you were fine and racing the following week it's still scary as a parent and racer myself to watch. I had a BAD wreck in Jacksonville Florida on 08-03-2014 during practice of all things I got the need for speed and didn't back out the gas going into turn 1 and 2 hit the wall flat out left my mark on the wall killed my kart and ended up in the hospital here in St Augustine with 3 cracked ribs REALLY BADLY bruised tailbone and a REALLY bad bruise inside of left leg from steering rod bruise across lap of left leg from bottom of steering wheel and bruise on right hip were it hit the clutch and broke the clutch. Like you I was on the track in Volusia Florida the following week on a new kart to practice I was in points there and needed to get feel for new kart went from a 96 Predetor to a 08 Prowler. I learned my lesson the hard way do NOT flat foot Maxville track LOL still have a little of the bruise on inside left leg. I cae as close to flipping to the right side as you can before you flip. Glad you were alright though did you end up with any injuries at all from it???
***** Oh we know all about Volusia :) My daughter and I did the 2014 race season there last year she in Jr Non Restricted myself starting in Adult Novice (my first year ever on a go kart of any kind started the season with only 2 races under my belt) but after 3 or 4 races into the season they got rid of Adult Novice so I moved to the women's class where I finished the season in second place only 22 points behind the leader :) My daughter and husband are there today racing as a matter of fact she's still in JR Non Restricted. I just LOVE that track as well as the owners just a good track filled with good people =)
Parents should not be out there only trained emergency responders. We have an ambulance with 2 Motorsport trained attendants, the RD has first aid training, along with one more track official with medical training. We have suspended parents for jumping the fence and grabbing their driver...this is DANGEROUS...
there are soooooo many idiots on the comments that don't know this sport and are saying that the camera man is a asshole for not helping. there are rules restricting certain people from the track in situations like this. his job there was to take pictures
those white things buried in the track are horribly dangerous, poor kid drove over one and was launched .. whatever curbing is necessary on most kart tracks, but it should slow a kart down, it should not flip a kart or cause accidents.
You think the guy with the camera in the red shirt would drop it or should I say lay it down and assist with lifting the cart over! Didn't see him taking any action photos? Glad to hear you made a quick recovery!
David Charles they do have kart classes with roll bars, the flat karts you don't want to wear a seatbelt because you will get stuck under the kart if you roll over. I know it didn't happen here but most of the time you get thrown out in a bad crash.
This is why more karting tracks need roll cages on circle track and road course karts. I race road course karts and would feel so much better being strapped in with 5 point harness and having a cage in between me and the track in the event of a rollover or flip. That's just my opinion.
pretty sure the camera guy is doing exactly as he was told. the guy on the tannoy clearly tells people to stay off the track unless a paramedic or worker.
Of all of the comments I only saw 1 asking how the racer is. How badly he was injured. I see a lot about the camera man that did exactly what he should have been doing, staying out of the way so trained responders could do their job, but no one asked how the driver is. That was a really bad crash, How badly were you injured and how are you now. I really believe that all karts should have roll bars and 5 point harnesses. Best wishes to you.
Tyler Nelson you live and learn and rookie mistake is right way to put it, it does happen unfortunatey sometimes when it does in racing someone gets hurts but it isn't on purpose and you learn from it. The tracks we run here in North East Florida use tires inside track not the yellow concrete circles as in this track here. Im still a rookie just started last year only had one major accident thank god and I was the only one involved well me and a wall LOL and I was hurt but back in another kart the next week as you were. You can't make everyone happy there are those that will hate on you so try not to let it get to you. You'll especially have haters if your a female driver such as my daughter and I are ust let it roll off your back. Just glad your alright and no one else was hurt and that yes you learned from it
Wow...you are a seriously BAD human being Jason Perry. There's a reason why they don't give 8 year olds drivers licenses, they're not gonna be great drivers. But you had to be mean didn't you. I bet you could outwit a 4 year old, or kick a 9 year old's ass...good for you!
This is pretty rare though it does happen from time to time and it can creat a scary moment, the carts are light and the participants wear head and neck protection, never seen anyone that didnt continue racing the rest of the season after a flip.
Poor kid, laying there on the ground. Surprising how much air he got when he flipped... As for everyone going on about the photographer, standing around I'd be willing to bet he isn't allowed to step on the track. I'd be tempted to regardless, but it would probably be a mistake. Kid got help real quick. Aren't they cute the kids in their cars going around!
That camera guy probably isn't covered by the tracks insurance. If anything were to happen to him, he could go after the track and sue the hell out of them, because he wouldn't have health insurance.
really shouldn't have watched this knowing im about to do my very first go kart race IN MY ENTIRE LIFE on a 20 person track outdoors with i think 4 laps.....dear god
The photographer got a nice shot of the guy upside down.
I was about to say he probably can’t do anything
The track workers should have removed those white hubs because they are a flipping hazard like you just saw he would have slided safely into the mud but went into the hub which caused the flip.
They should replace them with a white line
Leocomander dude there there to show where to run and I race go carts and they have those yes one has ever flipped
Those are called a disc and we have them for a reason
thankyou for repeating what we literally juss watched in the video
They won't flip you unless you hit them at the correct angle I've hit them before meny times
This is like naskart
Lol

It depends because that roll cage will also increase the kart’s center of gravity making it easier to roll over in the first place.

those white things buried in the track are horribly dangerous, poor kid drove over one and was launched .. whatever curbing is necessary on most kart tracks, but it should slow a kart down, it should not flip a kart or cause accidents.
You think the guy with the camera in the red shirt would drop it or should I say lay it down and assist with lifting the cart over! Didn't see him taking any action photos? Glad to hear you made a quick recovery!
Parents don't care much about their kids placing them in kart races where there is zero protection...
That's why they wear helmets, racing suits, racing shoes, and knee and elbow pads right?
i am a fello racer as well that had a wreck like that at route 106 race park. dont search it its not on youtube
David Charles they do have kart classes with roll bars, the flat karts you don't want to wear a seatbelt because you will get stuck under the kart if you roll over. I know it didn't happen here but most of the time you get thrown out in a bad crash.
Flipping is an unlikely event and putting roll cages throws out the venter of gravity making it more likely to flip
This is why more karting tracks need roll cages on circle track and road course karts. I race road course karts and would feel so much better being strapped in with 5 point harness and having a cage in between me and the track in the event of a rollover or flip. That's just my opinion.
srrkartracer95 thats too heavy.. it would slow it down
@@Bulletcss they do run these akrts with cages called champ karts. either bolt on to these or a separate type of chassis
@@jantzen92 yes but proffesional cart racing dont have cages because off weight.. i was racing proff carts in bergen norway
pretty sure the camera guy is doing exactly as he was told. the guy on the tannoy clearly tells people to stay off the track unless a paramedic or worker.
finally, someone who knows the rules!
thank you m8
its hard to take this seriously with all the circus music, i expect them to pull their helmets off and have painted faces.....
I'm glad to see tht ur ok and racing again the next week
Of all of the comments I only saw 1 asking how the racer is. How badly he was injured. I see a lot about the camera man that did exactly what he should have been doing, staying out of the way so trained responders could do their job, but no one asked how the driver is. That was a really bad crash, How badly were you injured and how are you now. I really believe that all karts should have roll bars and 5 point harnesses. Best wishes to you.
that was such a ballsy move
Wow... you are a seriously BAD driver. You about cause the same thing that happened to you to someone else at 3:11...
Hey Jason this was only my 3rd race in anything I've come a long way you can see that in my other videos. It was a very dumb rookie mistake.
Jason they were kids really?
Jr 1 lights racing you moron. They dont have years of experience like every else does. Glad you're ok Tyler. Looked like a very scary wreck
You should have sent that little runt in the yellow kart to the fence!
This is pretty rare though it does happen from time to time and it can creat a scary moment, the carts are light and the participants wear head and neck protection, never seen anyone that didnt continue racing the rest of the season after a flip.
I hope the guy will be ok
Clap clap good thing he's ok but that ambulance cost a lot of $
Those white plastic bumps on the inside of the track just seem like they are designed to launch the carts into the air
Poor kid, laying there on the ground. Surprising how much air he got when he flipped... As for everyone going on about the photographer, standing around I'd be willing to bet he isn't allowed to step on the track. I'd be tempted to regardless, but it would probably be a mistake. Kid got help real quick.
Aren't they cute the kids in their cars going around!
why would the picture guy do anything hes there to take pictures not be a safety crew. its not his fault the track doesnt have a safety crew
That camera guy probably isn't covered by the tracks insurance. If anything were to happen to him, he could go after the track and sue the hell out of them, because he wouldn't have health insurance.
go kart crashes are the worst without a roll cage its a whole ton of weights and momentum crushing yourr body and that shit hurts
really shouldn't have watched this knowing im about to do my very first go kart race IN MY ENTIRE LIFE on a 20 person track outdoors with i think 4 laps.....dear god
This is why little kids shouldn't be allowed to operate any sort of motorised vehicles! They're still thinking in cartoon logic.
NikolaJXPL that's your opinion
Rules rules rules, just have fun racing and help someone when this shit happens. Oh wait I could get in trouble.
