I would be very careful with a magnetic tank bag in my experience they tend to scratch the paintwork, you would be better off getting of the ring ones where the bag attachment fits to the petrol cap easy job really.
What a story I remember you telling that before please continue your rants and know you are a natural story teller long live Rob's memory. I want a zed sadly I can't afford a fifth bike Willy. 😢
With my tank bank also fit the trap as why would they include one be safe fit the strap before you lose the bag and damage your phone etc.i do use a tail pack for my commute to work looks ok on my Honda cb500x. The heater is in my caravan mains hook up make the most of it quieter than the roof heater supplied with the caravan don’t disturb my sleep.
Thanks for the mention my friend!! Glad to be that little voice in your head to encourage you into another Classic 350 😂. I'm going to have to try to test ride a 900RS sometime, I just worry that it'll be too tall for a pygmy like me.
For a second, I was wondering how that oil filled radiator was going to fit on the bike. 😂😂. The Wayne story was just as good the second time around 🤣🤣.
Hi Willie, absolutely know where you are coming from regarding winter riding, I only venture out on those rare fine winter days. Riding in snow/rain/hail and freezing my bits off no longer holds any attraction for me. I used to commute in all weathers so I do have the T shirt, but thankfully no longer, I can happily curl up in my pile of dry leaves and hibernate until spring. Look forward to some more Rob stories 👍Ride safe, them roads are getting slippery out there.
Love the retelling of that story! I remember the originally retelling as well. The bike is looking great. I have the opposite problem. I have 4 currently and only really ride 2 so need to convince myself to sell 2 lol
A number of years ago i visited the famous devil's bridge at Kirby Lonsdale, while reversing the bike i kept on hearing a bike horn going off intermittently so kept stopping and looked about for who the pratt was, until some one sitting on the wall behind me informed me that it was my tank bag catching my horn as I kept turning the bars. So embarrassing.
Hi Willie you are spending so much time in the garden ,it looks like you're getting green fingers .( Make sure you wash your hands because it might spread to , you know where ) I haven't seen any biker garden gnomes on Z900 s yet , are they hiding in the short shed ? Glad you are enjoying life in rural Suffolk, you're looking very debonair in your sun lounge , very Freddie . ( he's not your secret love child is he ?)
Hi Willie. I bought the givi tank bag that mounts to the gas cap for my Z900 rs. Avoids touching the paint. Also have the Nelson Rigg rear bag for times I need to carry rain gear. Going to upgrade tires, brakes, suspension, exhaust, ECU to SE specs soon.
I'm on my second one of these. I've not felt the need to get either remapped. The original brakes are fine - but the Brembos on the special are definitely better, also the suspension.
I'm so jealous that you have found that one bike you can honestly say that this is the one. I haven't got to that stage yet, but im hoping the RE clasic 650 will be that bike. I still think the Crème de la crème would be bar end mirrors to finish off the front end & give it that old school/retro look from front to back.
Hi Willie, just spotted you have the pyramid/puig fly screen - I've just had a problem with mine. somehow, I don't know how, where the clear section mates with the painted section, bad scratches have been made on both surfaces that do not polish out! there should be some sort of gasket to prevent that as it looks very unsightly - mine is out of warranty unfortunately but I looked back at older photos and you can see the scratches starting within the warranty period, I just didn't notice. Might be worth getting some gasket material on yours before it starts. Looks ace BTW
|Agree with others get tank bag that mounts on a tank ring a bit more money but it will prevent scratching that lovely paint. May I ask, did you notify your insurance provider of the re-map and if so did you have to pay any extra?
I remember that story still funny the second time around Will 🤣 never used the head stock strap on my small magnetic bags, but you need to get some rubber mesh drawer liner under it or it will start to mark your tank under the magnets lay the mesh on the table put the bag on top and cut reg same shape leaving a couple of inches longer all the way around it will stick to the tank the same but no scratching been using it for years on all my tank bags touring, no marks on the tank, before that I used to lay double thickness sheet of cling film on the tank to stop the magnet marks, gardens looking good buddy clematis can go mad mate be aware 🤣 …. Pete🇫🇷
Tank bag is good but I think you should start putting coats of detailing on your paint to protect it? , a good upgrade is some really nice break and clutch leavers 😊😊
I think the plant is Clematis, not chlamydia - the plant can cause dermatitis (from touching leaves). Chlamydia on the other hand . . . is caught from different contact.
🤣 I remember that Wayne story. Are you sure that you and your friends aren't firefighters? You certainly sound like me and my friends. 🤣 I very respectfully have to disagree with your saying that we only need one bike. 1 road bike and one off-road bike as the absolute baseline. 😉 I'm a little surprised that you didn't go with a SW Motech tank bag that uses the locking ring. It would keep the bag off your tank's paint and they are quick to put on and off the bike. Have a great weekend buddy!
When you say 're-map', could that just be the plug-in module advertised everywhere? I've just got the 650 Vulcan and by heck it needs something doing similar! It is so hard to understand a manufacturer selling such a poor throttle, any low-down on why?
No the remap is having the ECU reflashed... I think the snatchy problem on many bikes is down to the Euro 5 emissions so not much the manufacturers can do about it...look into it for yr bike it really is a game changer 👍
@@2wheeledwillie395 according to lots of sources the module is a booster plug costing £147, takes 30 mins to fit and cures everything! Where/what/how does reflashing occur please? Regards.
Yes I bought a booster plug for my last bike (Triumph T120) it definitely made a big difference, took 10 minutes to fit....it riches up the mix so yr engine doesn't run so lean...... The ECU remap is a different level imo...there are plenty of videos on You Tube explaining what it does...I guess it depends on how bad yr bike is and how much yr willing to spend to fix it 👍
Make sure you don't pick up anything metal with the tank bag. My wife didn't realize a screw had attached itself to the magnet until she took the bag off and the tank was scratched to f**k. Always check as it would be a crime to mess up that paint job.
Oh no not a rear tyre hugger 😲 first thing I remove😂.Get the front fender extender but don't know about rear tyre hugger I think 🤔 they look ugly in my opinion & is why I remove them.
@@2wheeledwillie395 well i watched all the z900rs videos in English, then in French (my French is nearly fluent) and then I started watching the Japanese videos. (I used google translate to do searches in Japanese) They’re all about customisation and bike meets. The size of the z900rs bike meets made me look it up and sure enough…!
A tenant of ours had a very angry ex- who would throw stones at his balcony from the street below [we lived on the ground floor] We protested, but allowed her to come into the forecourt where she immediately started to break off bits from his motorbike. I did NOT start an argument with her ! Willie, the hugger should stay in black, or are you talking tail-tidy?
Those radiator heaters are great. I purchased three and they keep my house and garage warm.
Yes they really are buddy! 👍 Game changer for my Garage
