This is why I watch you Tomislav, I have thread chasers, but it never crossed my mind to do what you did. Gonna try it on my next bowl. I love to watch the wood move.
That’s mad, I’m going out tomorrow and cut my friends tree down and get some green wood and have a go 😊 only joking what a lovely looking bowl Tomislav, free flow and see what comes out the other end. Many times you end up with something totally different to what you started out thinking about, most of it because of mistakes 😂
Very nice looking bowl. Really like the multiple curves. I need to remember the use of the thread chaser as a texturing tool -- the results are quite nice and give a different feeling than using one of the spiral texturing tools. That bowl looks very cool in a warped configuration but I bet that a bowl from dried wood would also look nice. One question, when you have a bowl with the number of different curves and shape on the outside, how do you judge and set the thickness of the bowl while you are turning the inside?
Thank you Mark, that is good question... On this one ,like you said multiple curves on the outside,That is why I put wide rim,to have more of the single curve on the inside, I could follow outside shape but it would not look good.... This separate outside from inside and in this case works as its very busy piece.... Wide rims have hidden benefiths 😀
This wood was really wet, so to speed up drying process and to get it warp right away you can use microvawe, short sessions like 1min and let it cool down , a few Times like that.... Mosty to speed up drying
Thank you, it was around 1200rpm until is true up then I put it on 1450rpm... But I adjust for every blank speed as there could be variations in wood and disbalance so I always start very slow and bring the speed up, some blanks won't allow at the beginning more then 700rpm, so you have to be aware of that.... Always start from zero then add more speed
Looks very nice with the little beads very cool
The thread chaser for decoration is a good idea. I will try that too. Thnx! 😎
Normally not a fan of ogee bowls, but you nailed this one!

Soo true Jim, but that is the beauty of turning, And that free flow is just simple fun☺️
Very nice job, a pretty bit of wood as well. I have some green cherry so must try microwave on some.
Beatiful design

Super travail !! Ou peut on se procurer l'outil qui fait les stries ?
Merci
Thank you, this one is from Carter and son from United States, there are other versions like from crown or sorby
@@tomislavtomasicwoodturning Thank you very mutch👍
Superb work! What size bowl gouge did you use to hollow the bowl? That went really fast.
Thank you, its 12mm diameter,or half inch, this perticular one is short handle version....
Hey buddy. Thanks for the video. Mind if I ask, what speed are you turning at when you started ? Thanks again.

Nice bowl that one. Oxalic acid will get rid that blue staining like magic, if you can't turn them out for any reason.
