- I had the 4 red flashing lights of death on my Traxxas Maxx 4s ESC.
My truck was NOT under warranty. But after searching the internet and not finding anything, I called Traxxas because the manual recommends it.
This is what happened!

I’m on my third ESC after over three years. All replacements were free. Sometimes (at least in my case) they will just give you free replacement well out of the claimed warranty.
Wow, yeah I wasn’t that lucky. But I can’t complain either. That’s cool.
The problem with what you believe to be a warranty is there is no lifetime warranty as traxxas does state this in every owners manual they have an insurance policy that covers the electronics for lifetime meaning you’ll pay half every-time 😮once it’s powered up the warranty is gone any defects have to be called in before you run it within 30days I’m definitely an xmaxx traxxas fan guy but found this out on my second new xmaxx the esc died the first run so putting in a max 6 esc seems to be a better choice for me cool video 👍
Wow sounds a little shady by Traxxas, but given the nature of electronics and the rc hobby, I can understand. I do miss how things used to be, a lot less small print, if you get what I mean. That sucks about your xmaxx. I can only imagine getting one new and then that happening! I would be pretty dam frustrated. In regards to the max 6 , are you running the stock motor with it? Most of my RC’s have come from offerup or FB marketplace so I don’t have much experience with warranty. I have a little experience with Traxxas now and horizon hobbies. I don’t know if I was lucky but I’m on my third free ESC for my Maxx from Traxxas. My Maxx is over three years old. Sometimes they might give you a little extra warranty.

Yes sir! They do business the same way you do business! That’s one of the reason we have so many Traxxas cars!
My UDR gave me the “lights” last night. I have the receipt and it’s less than 6 months old. Will they still charge me for the replacement?
Yeah you should be all set. You just have to fill out the warranty application.

if you have a traxxas and dont want to use different batteries or ESC/Motors, this is a very good solution rather than paying full price for new parts.
