I posted a pic of the amp under VE 8-60 RCA 997 AMP. It does use a 10 output (UX-210), also a UX-199 for input, two UX-216'S and a UX-876 ballast. I bought it about 10 years ago from a gentleman in Ohio for about $800, it was a little rough, needed cleaning up, new front grill cloth. It also needed an arm for the magnetic pickup which was broken, needed missing tubes and I had to replace 3 bad capacitors.
I did all the work myself to get it back into running condition. It's pretty basic electronics. Used lemon oil products on the wood, and polished up the brass and gold finishes.
My husband and I just received one of these. We have a couple other Victrolas and would like to sell this one. Its in excellent condition...works perfectly. We just don't have the room. Where should I try to sell it...and what should I ask for it? Thank you!
Sherry, I would put it on Ebay. I have had pretty good success selling items. I would probably start the bid at $2000. I had mine appraised a few years ago and that is what they said.
When you refurbished the amp, what did you use for the capacitors? Assuming you used modern replacements, what voltage rating caps did you use for the big 2MF and 4MF original caps? Thanks.
I have a VE8-60 E in fantastic condition -- Walnut Cabinet that I want to sell for a good price.. do you think I should use EBAY ?? how does one ship a item this heavy ??

I will check and let you know...
Did you restore this yourself or was it already in working order? I have one that needs to be restored and am looking fro someone to do the work.
Could you make another clip playing a record with the acoustic head, then with the electrical head, to hear the difference ( if any).
