    Hey, glad I found your channel. I'm in Australia and thinking about getting away from pythons and learning how to keep colubrids. We only have a few to choose from though, I really wish we were aloud to import/export animals. Thanks for your great videos.

    Hi. I know this is an old video, but in the 6 years since you filmed it have you had the chance to pair up a male and female high yellow since? The way you described the hatchling ratios with HY to 'normal' makes it sound like it could be an incomplete dominant mutation.

      Looks like he doesn't have time to answer your thoughtful question. Weird.
      This guy is a douche. I emailed him about a Green Cat Eyed Snake and he said something to the effect that his whole web page was 2 years old at least. Then gave me something to the effect of "go kick rocks'. Dick.

    hello, we spoke before in one of your other videos before, I recently bought a Siplotes pullatus, here in Costa Rica. Mine is mostly black, not much yellow. Watching your video, and I'm worried. As he/she seems very tame, and is very cool to handle. But hasn't eat'n with me yet, I've had it about 2 weeks, First week didn't bug it much, but have been handle'n often now. but it's not eating...I've offered siberian hamster and white mice... no luck, was going to try with an egg, or a cooderniz later today. I saw your video about sents...but i've read that these do like rodants. And you mentioned here they like jumpers and are always hungry. Any recomendations ?

    Hi! Great video! And great spilotes! I used to have a trio of high yellows but had to down-size because of my family. Do you or do you know of anyone who has any for sale or possibly some ptyas carinatus? (that was a great video also!) Thank you. Are the caranatus docile or pretty aggressive? Thanks you sir.

    • @DMExotics
      @DMExotics  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have no idea where you may find any high yellow Spilotes for sale. I don't have any carinata for sale but do have a group of Malaysians. I think most are pretty chill once you figure out how to manipulate them. They can be a handful sometimes as new arrivals but most calm down a lot once they learn you are not a threat.

    I live in the amazon region of Peru and just caught a between 7-8 foot spilotes (here they are called Paucar/ iguana Machaco) on a farm, which for sure rescued him from certain death by machete if a worker had stumbled upon him instead of me. Took some pictures and released him into a nearby reserve of pretty dense jungle where he would be safer. Gorgeous snake!!

    Dan,
    Great info on one of your many colubrid snakes. Quick Q...do you shave your hands, arms, head, etc so that whatever type of species you are filming abt on any particular day feels less threatened? The reason for the question is because I'd like to know if you feel the animal feels more safe being handled by a (what I'm assuming is a completely shaved individual) so that you don't come off as more like a Silverback Gorilla or other large potential threat?! Please advise. Thanks pal

      I do it to gain the attention of the viewers that are more interested in me than my animals. It’s hard to believe that there are any out there besides the two that have subscribed to thumb down every video we do.... hopefully we get more because any attention is good attention on TH-cam.

    • @jrriley4845
      @jrriley4845 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DMExotics Yes, I am subscribed to your channel. However, I have never gave any of your videos a 'thumbs down".
      You are absolutely correct that any publicity is good publicity.
      The only reason I knocked you this one time is due to the time I inquired abt one of your Green Eyed Cat Snakes and you may have been having a bad day. That said you did reply with some sort of comment that was something similar to "go pound sand".
      Great job (seriously) with your breeding practices. Thank you for the quick reply. JR

    Just got a 6’ Guayana long term Captive Tiger!!! Amazing. She’s surprisingly super friendly and curious, the people I got from, already long ago Parasite treated so that’s Great and she’s smashing mice, got her a really good deal $300 bc I know the person well. Dude bring this series back please! Been almost a decade. And yeah I noticed that tho. Mines almost whitish yellow, its a very interesting shade, and the back half has perfect Krait looking stripes in Black and like a Bronze brown. She looks Great for a long term import so hoping she does good for me! Lady that I got from has had her over 2 years so I shouldn’t have any issues. That’s so cool tho, not too long ago I thought these were they’re own thing. Do you believe it’s actually a Rat snake family or no? To me, I’m not sure where they got that name, it doesn’t look like any rat snake I’ve seen. Even King Rats look more like a rat snake than these, which I like that. Makes them stand out, I don’t care for normal rats like a grey rat snake or something yk so this is Different and nice

      This was the beginning of my channel. I watched other TH-camrs shoveling content down peoples’ throats about all the common stuff. I decided to take a stand. My content hasn’t changed AT ALL. Almost 500 videos most of which highlight uncommon snakes. You have a lot to catch up on with this channel if you have time to watch. The ones in this video are not Guyana locality Spilotes.

    • @DMExotics
      @DMExotics  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +DeeDee Jai They all have proper cage locks now but I was using rigid wire bent in a certain way that slid in and locked in a downward position. They worked fine in the interim but real cage locks are the way to go.

      Anything is possible but the Mexican and Guyanan are two very different snakes. The scalation and even body structure is quite different. I can tell you that you won't get anything that resembles my animal in this video but you could get something high-yellow for your locality type.
