I'd argue anatomy, or even accurate porpotions, is much less important than learning GESTURE, even for sculpture. Anatomy is good to know but even if you have good anatomy, if your gesture sucks then your anatomy will suffer regardless.
I'm new at Zbrush and my main problem is to identify the right shape, I mean, it sounds so obvious and so basic, but even if I take a blueprint for the front and side view and I match it exactly, when I rotate the object it feels weird, the proportions are technically right, but somehow it feels off =(
brother this is just as clickbait as the videos you are complaining about....you dont say anything about the 4 levels in the title, you dont distinct them at all, you also dont show stuff, i get philosophy but this is a visual skill, you talking to the camera about the importance of muscles without actually showing them properly positioned is lame, "There is only like 3 or 4 major sections..." SHOW THEM !!!

Gesture is important, but I disagree that it is more important than what I mention here. Thanks for offering your perspective!
@@Follygon Sure np! My background is mostly 2D so that's probably why. Not to say you didn't give good advice!
