How did an alligator transform a kid's birthday party into a jaw-dropping event? Well, hang on to your hat as we look at some of the deadliest zoo attacks.

    No animal should be put down because of something an ignorant human does. As a child I enjoyed going to zoos but now that I’m way older I realize that they are not nice places. Animals should never be removed from their natural habitat to be put on display.

      Not all zoos are bad. The one in Zurich puts a lot of effort into creating big enclosures to make the animals feel at home. Right now they are building one for lions and such. Its really cool to see.

      The zoos are the last refuge for some animals that have been hunted to extinction in the wild, fueled in part by the neverending demand for aphrodisiacs in China. If none were in the zoos under captive breeding programs, then none of these certain species of animals would exist at all! There needs to be a special Go Fund Me page set up so that the international community can help fund, provide aid for the millions in China with a dire need for Viagra, Cialis etc. That way, the Siberian tigers (down to 500 in the wild!), the elephants, the scaly pangolin, the remaining rhino species can be left alone. We need to help those in China out with the vital pharmaceuticals they need so they can leave these rare animals alone! In the meantime, we're counting on the zoos and other wildlife facilities to save & propagate the few remaining representatives of many rare species, while the rest of them continue to be hunted down for the commercial they hold as aphrodisiacs in traditional Chinese medicine. Apparently herbs alone, or the myriad of combinations that Chinese herbalists are familiar with, aren't effective enough to deal with the bedroom issues that many many men in China have. Therefore, a harmonious Ying/Yang☯️style balance of concern is needed so that the needs of those living in China and that of the planet's endangered animals can be properly addressed. That way, it's a win/win for everyone.

    I'm glad some people in this video acknowledge that it's not the animal's fault. Animals will do what they're programmed to do, what their DNA tells them to do. Yes, humans can definitely form bonds with animals, but we don't understand them as deeply as we think we do. And putting animals into enclosures often gives them a negative change in behavior. If you go to a predatory animal and test its patience, don't be shocked when it doesn't go well. Trying to swim with polar bears is probably the stupidest thing I've ever seen in my entire life.

      Cats in general go insane if they smell weird stuff. House cats will try to kill their owner if they can't recognize their smell and smell something else. They literally go by smell to recognize their owners and such. The lion probably had no idea that was his owner if the smell was strong. K9s can recognize faces too, but cats can't seem to.

      @LiveFreeOrDie2A
      He should've mentioned that in his video, I know obese captivity animals can be heavier, I can say: Polar Bears can reach 2000 pounds, which is I believe a record for a captive Bear, Bart the Bear was 1700 pounds.
      Plus that stupid 650 psi Lion bite force, they mean to tell us that Some Dogs, Wolves and Gorillas have a stronger bite force than the Lion?
      I hate it when people don't properly provide well researched information to the public, either do it right or don't.

    • @whitmerule2753
      @whitmerule2753 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@bttawfiq Yep, lions actually have a relatively weak bite force for a carnivoran of their size. They rely more on body weight and numbers to bring an animal down and choke it, rather than on crushing jaw power. Despite (because of?) this, you very often find people saying 'this animal had a bite force THIS MUCH STRONGER than an African lion!' to prove how powerful it is, because we all love to think of lions as icons of power. Of course they're powerful, but they don't need the strongest crushing bite in the world to do it.

    • @bttawfiq
      @bttawfiq หลายเดือนก่อน

      @whitmerule2753
      While your analysis makes sense, it still doesn't explain why a Rottweiler has the same bite force, or how lone male Lions are able to take down Buffalo and Giraffe then chocke them out with the neck bite (we all have seen the videos on TH-cam, several)
      Plus, if numbers are a factor, then Hyenas and Grey Wolves won't need that 1000 psi crushing bite force!

    • @whitmerule2753
      @whitmerule2753 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bttawfiq Because there are more ways to overpower prey than to crush its bones. (Just ask a t. rex vs a giganotosaurus or spino!)
      You're implicitly equating bite force with effectiveness as a predator. But there's a lot of different ways to hunt, and every animal adapts differently. Snakes and birds of prey, for example, have fairly weak jaw muscles - macaws' jaws are much stronger than those of eagles, because a macaw has to crack very hard nuts, whereas an eagle just has to pin prey with its powerful hind limbs and rip off bite-sized chunks (neck muscles, not bite force).
      Lions aren't trying to crush a buffalo's bones. That would be practically impossible. Their tactics are basically piling onto the prey, combining shock and exhaustion with attempting to choke off the air supply by hoping one of them gets the throat. Blood loss and the sheer impact of heavy bodies play a factor too. Their shoulder and arm muscles are formidable weapons and more than enough to keep them attached to their prey while they try to clamp down on the weak area with their jaws.
      As for rotties and hyenas - rotties have been bred as guard dogs to hang on with a defensive grip, and hyenas are literally crushing and eating bone. Hyenas aren't really using that to hunt, but to consume parts of the prey that other predators can't access easily.

    Yelling, clapping and trying to distract the tiger is a good move, but I'd hardly call it heroic. Heroes typically risk their own well-being to help another person. The onlookers were safely behind a steel enclosure and had nothing to lose. If that makes them heroes, then we're all heroes, and if we're all heroes then what's the big deal?

  • @ryshadjamal4063

    Killing animals that humans CHOOSE to keep knowing the risk should never be killed. Leave them alone and stay away from them. They do what they know.

    I never have nor would I ever "taunt" an animal, caged or uncaged.
    That is not something I would ever do whether at a zoo or in the wild.
    Being a Native Cherokee, I was raised to respect all animals as we are taught as children that animals are our relatives, which is why all animals understand our Cherokee language.
    That's not meant as a joke either. I've spoken Cherokee to all types of animals and they've all responded to me very nicely.
    Also, my Native name, Kiasax, means Bear on the Left. So, why would I disrespect any animal, when they're my relatives?
    Blessings to you and yours, and wado, which means thank you, for your excellent video.

    This is one thing that bugs me,if zoos are meant for the protection of wild animals from wild human pred@ors and preserving the animals, why kl it when it acts like an animal(obviously to protect the person) but at the end of the day still goes against what it was meant for.

    Those photo ops are also terrible. They declared and detooth the animals and give them drugs to make them placid. I can't even imagine what that would be like. Having my nails and teeth removed and kept doped up while people take selfies all day, then thrown in a cage at night.
