  • This is the Car Buyers Guide Skoda Kodiaq review 2017. Daragh Ó Tuama shows us around the spacious, good-looking, simply clever, affordable 7-seater family SUV. He also discusses how it fares against its competitors, which include the Kia Sorento and Peugeot 5008 SUV. This car is sure to do well in Ireland.
The SKODA Kodiaq is SKODA’s first attempt at tackling the competitive SUV segment. The Kodiaq has the exterior appearance of a large, stylish SUV - while on the inside it’s a practical family car. There’s plenty of space up front, you can easily fit three adults in the second row and should you opt for the additional two seats - those in row three won’t have too much to complain about either.
SKODA’s “Simply Clever” features in the Kodiaq include; umbrella in both the front doors, special cup holders that allow you to open a bottle one-handed, door protectors and a “virtual pedal” that electrically opens and closes the boot.
The model featured in this review boasted 19” alloys, keyless entry/engine, interior ambient lighting, 8” touch screen, black Alcantara leather and a rear view camera.
Prices for the Skoda Kodiaq in Ireland start from: €29,395
    Model in this review: €44,145

Thank you for review. One item to mention - when you said how much knee space on the second row when seating behind "yourself" - it doesn't give any info because nobody knows how tall you are. Hope in next reviews you can also mention your height (in cm also, because feet and inches might not give any reference point to people outside of UK and USA) ... only then will be easy to understand how much space is indeed on the second/third row. Cheers.

Thanks Alexey - we'll take that on board. FYI - I'm about 1.82metres.

Car Buyers Guide ok, now it makes everything clear :-)) ... I am 1.90m then it looks even for me it should be enough space. I like this car and plan to sell my Q5 and order Kodiaq.

Very good review, I have a question for you: are the front / back seats comfortable for a long drive? Thank you.

Thanks Ivan, Front seats are large and very comfortable. The middle row is fine, no major complaints - plenty of leg room like in the Superb... and if you use the centre armrest it's nice. If someone is in row three though, it can compromise the space in row two - because depending on the size of the person in row three, you will have to move row two forward.
Row three is fine for kids, adults will get there, but I'd be calling shotgun to avoid getting anywhere near row three! It would be okay for a short trip.
