15 years ago, i was only 16 years old and i told my dad i wanted a Fender Stratocaster guitar for my birthday after watching the original Canon Rock video by funtwo. Never had proper training but i watched videos of youtube guitarists and learned to play songs by sight. Now im 31 years old and teaching my 6 year old daughter how to play the guitar.
Not that it matters but Jerryc played the original.. then funtwo

Almost identical to my story. My mom got a check out of no where for child support and we went to media play. I got a guitar and my sister chose a phone. I was 14 or 15. Thought myself with ear and tabs. Had kids and put it down. 34 now and purchased a schekter and am so in love.

늘 존경합니다ㅠㅠ 중1때 음악시간에 우연히 임정현님이 연주하신 캐논락을 듣고 무작정 기타를 치겠다하여 시작한게 벌써 10년이 훌쩍 넘었네요... 임정현님이 마냥 좋아서 그때 당시 유명하던 캐논락 영상에서 쓰신 이펙터 모델, 톤부터 사용하셨던 ESP 모델 따라한다고 금색시트지 사서 픽가드에 붙이고 그랬었는데 지금까지 기타연주함에 있어서 잊을수없는 추억입니다ㅠ 초창기에 임정현님 연주 카피한다고 밤샌적도 있고 그때 많이 배운것 같습니다. 늘 좋은 연주 들려 주셔서 감사합니다. 제 기타히어로중 한분 이십니다!
10년ㄴ이 지난 지금은 펀투만큼 흘륭한 기타리스트가 되어있겠군여 ㅎㅎ

May I say, you've really nailed the Power Stance! As an aspiring power stancer myself, I can only pray that one day I can mimic the same degree of Awesomeness as I strut my legs apart, slightly bent, emitting an aura that all should fear my guitar.

캐논 락 버전 여러사람 기타연주가 있지만 임정연씨 따라갈 만한 사람이 없다고 봅니다. 표현력과 입팩이 정말 기가막힙니다. 빠른 속도에서도 스토카토와 5도 올림음을 순간 순간 표현하는 사람은 드물죠.

That's beautiful .........this guy is great great great ...I had started learning guitar 4 years before this funtwo smashed the scene .when i heard this at the same time i was dying ,i wasnt good enough to go on even though i tried...When his friend uploaded this it filled me with energy ..I can not tell a lie ,it filled me up and i started to pick up my guitar again...I would love to meet him one day...He has affected the lives of many many people in such a good way he will not know .It took me a while to see how even small things we do help others i a big way ,this helped me in a big way but i still cant play guitar lol...i love listening to him though....

14 or so years back when you first played this for the world to see and you were next level then. It is clear to see that even though this piece is probably only 1% better than that original piece, the 14 years+ you've spent to squeeze out that extra 1% is the difference between good and epic. 14+ years to spend making something 1% better hardly seems worth it. Most people wouldn't bother. But they are not you. You have an epic lifetime in music ahead of you. Bravo !! xxx
I was disappointed when he didn't do that very first sweep, and did that weird divebomb or whatever, but he still delivered. Always loved this dude. Was hoping to bump into him when I lived in Korea for a year

Just like jerryc adapted canon to create canon rock, funtwo also performed his own canon rock, and the classics will never be defeated. By the way, jerryc has transformed from a college student into the Asian Music Director of Sony Music.
I started listening to classical music because of Funtwo's original rendention posted all those years ago. I am glad that he gave us an updated performance.

Funtwo when i first saw your cover of canon rock it was first hitting the internet well over a decade ago ..ya blew me away and i have always never forgotten your performance..i listened to your version for at least 2 thousand times a week lol...i think it was crafty by accident you never looked at the camera when you filmed it ...made it more mysterious
