@@maryannhernandez9788 every laptop heats up, but for your information this laptop is actually pretty well cooled. it gets hot, but never to the point where you don't wanna put it on your lap.
In Indonesia, Apple stickers are used on cars, motorcycles, and helmets
Use them for decorative purposes

@@breyerhorsestudios2964 if you have an intel mac or are buying one, go for the storage because the ram is somewhat upgradeable. Unfortunately now its not possible at all so id say upgrade ram and just buy an external drive

@@breyerhorsestudios2964 Definitely 16GB RAM as it is not user upgradable, and you can always get an external SSD drive if your 256GB becomes insufficient.
I'm from 2024, and I just today bought the base model of m1 macbook air this laptop is the goat. It feels good to be here with my macbook air

Now 3 years later and I just bought one of these for a great price. The battery life is amazing and it will not warm my hands (does not overheat). I’ve been using nothing but iPads for years and having this beauty is such a delight.
My new M1 MacBook Air was delivered a few days ago (just before Thanksgiving) the 512GB model and I love it.
Don't slide it on the table, the sound is killing my brain 😂
That’s what I like with the air, the shape and the function buttons and now it elevated thanks to the M1

Getting 16GB RAM instead of spending on extra storage would've made more sense in terms of future proofing.
You can always get an external SSD but you'll be stuck with 8GB RAM.
@@apathak34 Yes - but 256gb storage is a minuscule amount and I’d just need to travel everywhere with an extra SSD. I couldn’t warrant the pro because it was so much money just for 8gb, so same goes for Air. I’m not in dire need for the slightly better performance so didn’t bother :)
Also, I use 8gb slow memory on my daily driver Windows machine, so 8gb mac will be more than enough tbh

I got the M1, gold, 8gb ram, 256gb version today for 15% off lol (part of black week, im amazed that the M1 version was part of the sale). Im super happy, finally Mac`s arent 100 years behind windows laptops anymore in raw specs. This M1 chip is super impressive in every single way, what im most looking forward to is the insane battery life tho.
Interested to see if this base model will be a decent video editing rig. Trying to decide between this or the Mac mini.

I have the Dell D6000 for my 2017 Air and it lets me attach 2, (maybe... 3 long story) external monitors. I love having my laptop and 3 monitors. Not having multi-monitor support even with a dock would be a deal breaker. :(

I’m curious about heating problems. Does it really stay cool. I mean if you have to do video rendering or even just extended zoom calls, will this new M1 Air keep its chill, or will we have the old Air oven effect? Will it just slow down?
They know nobody uses the stickers, but they know if they take them away they will loose customers 😂

The maximum I have in terms of power consumption is rendering and uploading 40 Minutes 4K video once a week and it is not profesional work. I just love the writing experience with the Air. Yeah, if you plan on doing any photo editing, video editing, music production, or you'll be hooking up an external monitor and running a few apps at once you definitely will benefit from 16GB. Otherwise you'll be more than good with just 8GB.
Get the 16GB, 8 is kinda borderline already and in a few years it'll be problematic.

I was originally going to buy the pro but i would have to wait till june to save up for it, but looking at the performance of the new air i think im just going to get the air and then i will be able to have it by February (ive been using an ipad mini 4 with a Bluetooth keyboard but its small screen and that fact that it is rly showing its age makes me rly need a computer)
I’m unsure if I should get the MacBook Air or Pro. I use my old entry level 2013 unibody iMac mainly for school and music production (Logic and Ableton), with occasional Photoshop and Lightroom, and it grinds to a halt constantly with most apps taking ages to open.

Here is a good video -- M1 Macbook Air vs 2020 iPad Air with the keyboard. I'm pretty on the fence.. I have a Macbook 16 inch but looking for a travel/backup/everyday setup while the 16 mostly sits on my desk. Likely will start editing a video on the portable setup and some photo editing too. I figure the heaviest lifting will still be on the 16 with a dual monitor.
After using it for a while, can you compare the air and pro and recommend which would be better for a Computer Science College student? (Though might video edit and mix on the side too)

Please check the max conditions where the ram is not enough. Considering the cpu and gpu are using the same memory, does the macbook’s display paired with a second display limit multitasking?

Mobile apps run natively so yes, absolutely, about like a 5000$ would, if I'm not wrong m1 support natively also final cut pro, so again about 5000$ of performance in your hands, and if it doesn't you will have to use rosetta and then you'll get the performance of a 16 inch macbook 2019.
