I had the same idea as you, but using two reverbs: one to emulate a mic right up to the speaker (no pre-delay and little depth), and the other to simulate a room mic (with pre-delay and a lot more depth). The idea was to mix these two sounds and find the best setting for my taste. Then I found out that the Strymon Bluesky can get pretty close to that (though it’s a mix of reverb/dry instead of reverb/reverb, which was the original idea), so I don’t need all that extra setup. Still, it could be interesting to try different types of reverbs from different brands. That way, you could get a unique and original result, which could be really cool. For me, it’s important that the pedalboard is compact because of travel and weight, so I gave up on the idea. But it’s there for anyone who wants to give it a shot. Greetings from Brazil!
LS-2 style pedals are a must for bass players too. You can retain the clean low end, and add gainy mids and drive sounds on top, whilst scoping separate EQ/compressors for both. Anothr amazing pedal for this is the mini mixer by EHX. Lets you stack 3.
I like using a gated fuzz in Channel A and a dimed Rangemaster clone in Channel B. It's fun to plug an EHX Attack/Decay (with the internal comp deactivated) into the front of the LS-2. You get the bright chime of the Rangemaster plus the added texture of the gated fuzz, both being pushed by the Attack/Decay's volume swell.
Thank you for making this! I’ve been looking for a video like this for months. I thought using a Fuzz And Distortion at the same time would need an A/B box going into 2 separate amps - this is a much easier solution. Loving the power chords and high gain demo.
I use an ABY. Great for stacking gain, especially if You want that Recto Wall of Sound and a beautiful ambient clean or lead! The line select is an amazing tool! That is an incredible board
1. Kohlekeller Studios has a similar video, and it pushed me to buy some gear and try for myself. For anyone curious who can afford it, do it. The "Stylish Fuzz" from Donner is a cheap and workable Fuzz pedal if you lack one. 2. Those MXR EQ lights are blinders, ain't they?
I'd rather listen to a guitarist who knows how to use 4 guitar pedals really well than a guitarist with 20 pedals who sounds like shit. When it comes to guitar pedals, quantity does not necessarily mean quality.
@@Joe-mz6dc True, nice pedals can’t compensate for poor playing. You gotta have a good tone w/o any effects, then you can build on that. One thing I do sometimes is play electric unplugged…you’ve got nothing to help you, you gotta make sure your playing is solid!
Thanks! I planned out the Signal Path, but I had Brian Omilion wire it up. He's over at the Guitar Sanctuary in McKinney, Texas. Check out his Instagram page @Omilionaudio. His work is quite Masterful.
Thank you! It's the Vertex Effects Tour Compact Pedalboard with the standard riser. I also have in there both the Power Module and Buffer Interface Module by Vertex Effects.
Awesome when someone explains into detail how he meticulously tweaked his guitar tone with a ton of high end gear...and than records it with his phone or $90 home studio setup 🤦♂
LS-2 is hidden gem of Boss pedals. I have one since its beginning.
Agreed!

Damn, pretty good sound and equipment, chapeau bas!
Its different. Its like having two rigs going at once....dang thats pretty cool

Thanks, I'm glad you found this video useful 😀
I also believe this is the reason for Helix and Quad Cortex Users. No firmware needed. Rock and Roll!
Pedals always gonna sound x10 better

Thanks! I wish I had bought the line selector years ago, it's so versatile.
Tones sound good man 🤙🏻
So cool! 😎
I'll be checking out that boss line selector. Nice!

Yeah, it's soooo bright! I'm glad I have it underneath the riser.
😮tengo que aprender mucho.
I’d just push that TS8 into the Big Muff in series, instead. I’d love to hear a comparison between the sound on this video compared to that
That's a great idea. I'll make a video about boosting the Big Muff.
Parallel is the best period.
Yeah, I feel it's underrated. Everyone talks about gain stacking, but you don't hear much about Parallel drives.
Your whole board is ridiculous! I literally have 4 pedals right now 😂
Lol Thanks! Yeah, it is pretty ridiculous. It definitely satisfies my "tone-quest".

😂😂😂😂 Hendrix only use 3 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
Great video but holy shit your pedalboard is awesome did you put that one together yourself?

your pedal board reminds me of metroplex, I r jelly.
What a great pedalboard. What is it?

@@dude_crush_I have the same board with the modules too! 👍
