Out of the top guys i think xu xin has the most interesting style. Left handed... pen hold... with the unconventional backhand. Not to mention crazy playstyle.
1:37 three beautiful shots in one play: reverse backhand lob, backhand loop from way back followed by a forehand loop. Next forehand loop ended the point. The camera captured the amazing curves from his loops. This man's loops carry such beautiful curves, equivalent to Michael Jordan's elegant hang time in the air.
People watching Xu Xin for years probably saw that it wasn't a question of the power of his backhand. It was the consistency with it that was the limiter. Relative to the other very top pros, it was behind. But times have changed and if you see any younger penholders now who have been playing RPB from day one, their backhands are great. Honestly they play a lot like shakehanders. They're just doing it with penhold.
You could not have said that better. The modern ph players like Alexis and Qi Dong use penhold as shake hand and play closer to the table..none even come close to xu xin in terms of how beautiful it is to watch
I agree but just my opinion but for me the point of penhold is to have a strong forehand not a good backhand so I kinda don’t like modern day penholder
A joy to watched 'cos of long arms n legs as he covers the floor well. Also his arching shots since his anticipation gives him time to prepare his shots.
funny going back and watching these highlight videos and seeing just how much Adam had covered him (esp since he recently actually got to play with Xu)
Of course, he can make superb backhand shots. But its not consistent enough, but his forehand on the other hand compensates so much he has been top 3 for a decade.
If Ryu Seung Min developed RPB during his heydays, he could have continued to play many years more. having said that, his FH is still the most brutal in Table Tennis history.
no. I've talked to players who've played him. His fh is not that strong. He had a ton of spin early on with Bryce + Speed glue, but nowadays with the plastic ball spin matters less while speed and power became more important. they say the most powerful fh of that area was WLQ. in demo videos, you can see his fh loop *after* bouncing could break through glass panes.
Ryu Seung min seems to be your favorite player. He's my favorite player as well. I think I've watched every single match on youtube that features him lmaooo

I Really Mourned When XX Retired for Real.. The only Player that Consistently Refused to Be Defeated By Non-Chinese Top Player (in My Book)... Now all We're left with is Chorimoto's and No Style having and Not Fun to Watch Players.. 😔😔😔
agreed Harimoto is annoying af and most of the top players nowadays are just "see who can counterattack faster and stronger". Literally who got better reflex and movement wins. No style whatsoever. It's almost kinda sad watching all these stat check meta games.
Not really. All top players execute forehand strokes far a lot more than backhands. Unless for chopper. But some of them do have legendary backhand power far ahead of other players, such as XuXin and Kreanga.

The most beautiful playing style ever in table tennis. Nothing beats this

He appears to be so casual great to watch
XUXIN IS PLAYING TENNIS ON A TABLETENNIS COURT
Hahaha so true
lmao
Yeah, he's going nuts with the backhand
Simply incredible ...Best !
Thank you, all credits goes to him😂😂
Since XX can develope his backhand, there's no doubt he is one of the best Table tennis player now. So complete!!!!!
Yesss!!! He's the best penholder rn.. I wish we could see more penhold players in future
He was one of the best even BEFORE he developed his backhand...
Hao Wang was the first one.
@@GeminiStar0602 what are you talking about... Ma Lin & Liu Guoliang both used RPB though not as much as Xu Xin & Wang Hao.
There will never be someone as Unique as him..
I believe we both got thay right , thanks
I only played table tennis in the 90s and I really enjoyed penhold the most. Never knew you can play a backhand like this.
Adam's fallen in love with him we all know that🥰

pinhold backhand is not easy but if you master it its so powerful and unexpected you will always defeat your opponent
Insane reflex’s
To beat XX better play short. Out there is XX’s turf.
Yess truee
Xu xin .. the goat entertainer !!
He's extremely UNIQUE !!
Best Penholder of the modern era
video anda sangat bagus dan mempunyai mesej yang luas terima kasih
Ксю, просто бешенный, на задней линии. 😮
That was then. Wonder what he's doing now.

What is his rubber for backhand?

BH is definitely not the strength of XX, who is famous for his FH. If you watch his games you will know 90% of his points are won thru FH not BH.
Which makes it even more amazing that he’s so good at it

He's still basically a forehand player. Wang Hao had a superior RVP backhand. Robert at 67.
Wow seru banget bos 😮
But I still think Backhand is his weakness, his good at forehand ~
His forehand is just killer
Wang hao best RPB not xx. XX best fh loop. M lond and fzd both most powerful fh.
But without medal on wc etcc
❤❤❤
wowww
直板太难出一个天赋球员了横版容易早出成绩,可惜跟马龙张继科一个时代没达成大满贯
想起了王浩 千年老二
Bruh, half of these weren't even won with the BH... lol
not steady
Fan zhendong has a better backhand
Sadly he never has become world champion in the singles.

why is the fps fucked up
Xu xin was good at one point but his creativity was overthrown immediately making him a minor character.
