The fact of the matter about Joker's origin story is that, yes, nobody is really sure who he was before he became the Joker. Not even he's sure of who he was before, he's just that insane. The closest to a definitive origin story we get is the flashbacks to his "past" in classic Killing Joke story, and even then, we're not sure how true that is, because he admits, "Sometimes, I remember it one way, sometimes another. If I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice." The only real consistent parts of his origin story are that he fell into a vat of toxic chemicals, and Batman was involved.
Na we know that's jokers confirmed origin at least in the comics because of the 3 joker story where we actually get to see his wife and his son and batman admits he's always known who joker is

Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, and Tim Drake are actually Bruce’s legal adopted children. So yes, you were correct, they view Bruce as both a mentor and a father.
You should rename the title “Krysta and the Simp Chronicles of Jason Todd.”😂 great reaction, keep it up. I'm so happy that you enjoyed it!! A part of what makes it hurts so much to me is the whole dynamic is looking at this through the lens of not only Batman losing a wonderful sidekick, but Bruce Wayne losing his son. Robin!Jason was so sweet and really adorable especially in the comics and had said that being robin made him magic. The og version of how Jason came back was that Superboy Prime punched the universe and that caused of a wave of events, one of which was Jason waking up in his grave. The lazarus pit was the second version. I personally like a weird mix of the two. And it's okay i get the jason todd thirst, lol
There isn’t a definitive joker origin but the one from The Killing Joke comic is the most widely accepted one and that’s the one that has him as the red hood falling into the chemicals
It's been confirmed in the three joker storyline where we even get to see that jokers wife and kid from the killing joke is alive living in Antarctica and batman's always known who the joker is
Talia has always been a baddie. Also Ra's has his eyeliner on point. I love the fact that Jensen Ackles plays the voice of Red Hood in this movie since he's a big fan of him.
Great reaction @Krystalogy as always. Jason Todd is such a fascinating character in the DC Universe, and Jensen Ackles did a great job as Jason Todd. Who knew fans unanimously deciding to kill off Jason in order for him to return after 18 years as Red Hood would be one of the best decisions DC has ever made and a very much welcomed addition to the DC Universe. I'm excited to see Red Hood in live-action on Titans TV show in Season 3.
It's also interesting that it wasn't unanimous and there was some vote tampering by someone with an automated phone dialer. It was a lot closer of a call than we realize.
The Whole Point of Joker's existence is to prove that Batman can break. You talk about putting down Joker like a rabid dog, but to Joker that would be the ultimate punchline if Batman killed him. Joker by his own death would prove that Everyone deep down is as twisted as him
I've always loved the mutual respect between Ra's and Bruce. Just the fact that Ra's felt so responsible for Jason's death that he tried bringing him back for Bruce shows why he's one of my favorite villains in Bruce's rogues gallery.
Ra’s may be immortal and may want prefer Batman to be his successor rather than Talia, but at least he does have some respect for the Dark Knight and his familu
The only reason Jason ran out the lazuraz pit like that is because last he remembered was trying to ecscape and run and that’s the only thing he remembered when he was resurrected.
The reason why Jason wanted the Batman to kill the Joker was because he feels as if he was meaningless to Batman because of the fact that he was alive Jason didn't care that Batman didn't save him when he was upset about was that Batman didn't murder The Joker after he died cuz it made him feel like he was nothing at that point hell he had a new Robin not too long after Jason died which was tim funny part is that Batman was going to kill the Joker he had a gun and everything but Superman stopped him comic book wise but anyways back to the movie Jason pretty much made him choose because he felt like he chose the joke over him and if you think about it that's like the worst thing ever to have a insane Psychopathic murderer be chosen over you by your own father and that is why Jason made the Batman choose
Jason was heartbroken that Batman didn't avenge him that alone to him felt like he didn't love him at all cuz he once said this to Damien while fighting him: let me tell you something about your father he pretended to love me then let the Joker Get Away by blowing me up
Something I need to say, the robins and Cassandra Cain (3rd batgirl) are all Bruce's kids. They even refer to eachother as family through the good and the bad. Jason being the most vocal of the robins in that regard calling each of the other robins his brothers openly and calling batman his dad every other comic. I love it
The Lazerus Pit can heavily extend the life of the user but after you are in it you lose all sense and reason and become a rage filled hyper aggressive person. This state usually lasts for 20 minutes or so before the person's mind returns. However, if you put someone who had died in the Lazerus pit....there is a chance it will drive them insane.....
Personally i would have had joker know imedeately as jason pulled out the crowbar, because he actually does have the same crowbar he used to beat up jason as a suveneer
This Joker origin story is the classic one that is the most often used. If you wanna dig deeper into it, I'd recommend you to read The Killing Joke, it's actually a pretty short story.
That flashback was meant to be with Joker’s first identity before he became the clown prince of crime. He had the identity of the Red Hood which was used by other criminals, while Jason had a different take on it, Joker was the first we see wearing the hood.
Great comics you picked up, but just a heads up, you HAVE to read Batman: The Killing Joke before you read Three Jokers, which is basically a sequel to it. Also because The Killing Joke is one of the best batman comics ever, and features what most agree is the definitive Joker origin story.
I love how Robby in Cobra Kai got Red Hooded by Johnny in Cobra Kai Season 3 with the locker now that I think about it Robby and Jason are almost exactly the same.
9:22 Joker has said that he “doesn’t remember” who he truly was before he became the Joker. He’s said that all of his made-up origin stories have blended together to form his own reality.
Under The Red Hood is one of my favorite movies. Introduced me to Jason Todd and Red Hood for the first time. He's definitely one of my favorite partners of Batman as he had a lot of struggles to him. Also, you look very cute Krysta. Just... Had to say it
Fun Fact about Dick: in the comics, each of his buttcheeks has a name. Jim and Juan. Names given by his gymnastics students who were all down bad for him.
Joker has many origin stories, true, but it always leads to him as the original Red Hood falling into a chemical vat after running away from Batman at Ace Chemicals with Bats failing to catch him
If you like this, watch Batman: Death in the family. It’s a choose your own adventure style movie with 7 or so different endings that follows this movie’s premise.
Jason todd is and always will be my favorite robin/ DC character his true origin is in the main continuity of DC comics and it's a crime he doesnt have his own game and Movie yet its insulting
John DiMaggio is a TERRIBLY under-rated Joker voice actor, imo. One of the few to bring his own ideas to the role, instead of trying to imitate Mark Hamill. EDIT: I LOLed at “We will never know peace from horny Krysta”
The full story with the Red Hood is that it was basically a fall guy. Crooks would dress someone up in this Red Hood costume, and when the authorities showed they'd be distracted by this supervillain-lookin guy while the real criminals got away. In one of Joker's backstories, he was a hard-luck schmuck who got roped into being the Red Hood for a job at a chemical plant. When Batman showed up to stop him, Joker fell into the chemicals etc. etc. Jason chose the Red Hood for his comeback as a twisted tribute to the Joker.
So….interesting fact, when Bruce threw the batarang it’s hits Jason’s gun and it explodes. In the graphic novel, the batarang sliced Jason’s throat. The movie changed a lot of what really happened which wasn’t bad, it censored a lot of….horrifying scenes 😩
This Joker origin story is universally considered to be the main origin story but some comics and movies change it to fit their stories. Also this origin story was on the Arkham games so I'm surprised you didn't recognize it.
They actually released a second movie this year I believe and it's an interactive movie where you can choose the outcome. So you can actually see what would've happened if Jason didn't die or what happened of batman made it in time to save Jason. It's awesome it's called batman death in the family.
Hei Krystalogy you need to check out Batman Death in the famaly because this is another part from this Movie and because you asked if there is another movie from this going on there you have it
Joker doesn’t necessarily have a “real” origin story, it’s one the charms of his character. But one of the most acceptable ones can be found in Batman: The Killing Joke by Alan Moore
Read the killing joke. It’s a “possible” joker origin story. They made an animated film based on it that’s very close, but the first 20 minutes or so are controversial to say the least. An extra batgirl subplot that wasn’t in the comic at all. Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill play their traditional roles though, and the comic faithful parts are very good.
I usually hate commentary while watching reaction videos but damn, if you didn't make it good. "Oh there go his gadgets, OH there goes his neck" had to laugh at that. It's super nice to see people enjoy this movie.
Under the Red Hood was a good movie, but it did condense or rewrite some stuff that kinda damages Jason's character and the story compared to the comics (Though the comics also try and retcon this stuff cos the writers loath him and love Bruce) Off the top of my head: Jason wasn't reckless chasing after the Joker in the comics, he'd seen the Joker threaten his birth mother and trusting her, he revealed his identity to her and promised to help. She claimed Joker had already left, then led him right into an ambush before pulling a gun on him and putting it to the back of his head. Despite that when Joker betrayed her, he still freed her and died shielding her body. Another important, missing aspect, is Stephanie Brown, Spoiler and for a brief period, the fourth Robin. She got made Robin by Bruce which was a huge deal to her, but to him was just part of some fucked up mind game to lure Tim back. He basically sabotaged her education, not teaching her to lock the Bat-Plane, doing stupid shit like getting set on fire during fights and then punishing her for disobeying orders to come help him. He basically gaslit and gate-kept her until she was so desperate to earn his approval after firing her for disobeying orders once (When other Robins disobey all the time) that she tried to pull off one of his plans, an insane scheme to take control of all the crime families in Gotham, but cos he never told her "he" was Matches Malone the plan failed and when she tried to fix things she spent five days being tortured by Black Mask (Who then became the kingpin of Gotham) before dying on the operating table. (A fan movement had it retconned that her death was faked and she was kidnapped by the doctor) Interestingly, both she and Jason were hated by the writers and both of them came from extremely poor backgrounds and abusive households and tended to challenge Bruce a lot. Stephanie's debut comic was even on Jason's birthday and both were Robins who died due to a rogue and came back. Both had drug addict mothers and abusive, criminal fathers and Bruce even said in the comics she reminded him of Jason which put his messed up treatment of her into a new context. The writers hated Stephanie due to mysoginy and class warfare and so despite in previous stuff often being shown as very capable and smart they kept rewriting her as stupid and incompetent, and they do the same with Jason, claiming he was the angry, disobedient, 'bad seed' Robin which takes all the tragedy and pathos away from his character, just as sabotaging her skills and intelligence fucks over Stephanie's character. Basically, Jason's birth mother and Stephanie's death are major aspects to either Jason's character or the Bat mythos in general and the movie ignores them to basically erase Stephanie and make Jason out to be incompetent and unable to escape his criminal heritage.
Black Mask was originally a man by the name of Roman Sionis. He was a friend of Bruce Wayne, and was a respected member of Gotham's social elite and owner of Janus Cosmetics. Unfortunately a series of poor business decisions led to him going bankrupt, thus losing both the respect of Gotham's upper class and the support of his own mother and father. Both of them caring more about their own public image then their own struggling son. So, in an act born out of a combination of financial desperation and his own personal hatred for both of them, he had both of his parents killed by burning their house down. Thus, leaving all of their own wealth to him. He then paid his father's grave a visit and carved a black mask out of his dad's coffin. In an inversion to how his parents presented themselves as stand-up citizens to the Gotham upper-class, Roman puts on a mask to be his true self ... the Black Mask.
I gotta say, I love the cast of this movie Bruce Greenwood - my 2nd fav VA for Batman. Too bad he didnt do alot of work for Batman. Jensen Ackles - Jason Todd/Red Hood. Just gonna post this here too. In Death in The Family, the story where Jason died, there were two phone numbers at the end of the issue you could call in to decide if Jason die or not. Many people actually called in to vote him surviving, but allegedly there's someone who set a program to just keep calling the number voting him to die, kind of like an automated scam call. In the end it's 5271 voting him to survive and 5343 voting him to die. That's like only 72 votes different, it's practically rigged. They actually got quite a backlash back then when it came out. And you know what, I love Jason as Red Hood. But since you mentioned that you're checking out Three Jokers, gotta warn you that he's not written consistently throughout different stories. Writers who wrote him either forget, don't read, or don't care about his character development in things like Red Hood and The Outlaws. So he flips flops between letting go and doing his own thing, still wanting to kill Joker, or not mending his relationship with Bruce. It's frustrating to say the least.
If you want to watch something that's a little bit weird, in the Batman animation, go watch *Batman: Gotham Knight* ... It's an Anime (well 6 short anime) made in different styles. The 6 stories connect together. My favorite is "In Darkness Dwells" (short story with Scarecrow).

The closest to a definitive origin story we get is the flashbacks to his "past" in classic Killing Joke story, and even then, we're not sure how true that is, because he admits, "Sometimes, I remember it one way, sometimes another. If I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice."
The only real consistent parts of his origin story are that he fell into a vat of toxic chemicals, and Batman was involved.
Na we know that's jokers confirmed origin at least in the comics because of the 3 joker story where we actually get to see his wife and his son and batman admits he's always known who joker is
@@whoknows8587 no there isn’t a confirmed origin for him.
@@ImaginaryJ-km7cr sure act like there ain't a whole comic that came out recently that shows that the killing joke is his origin and even shows that his wife and child is still alive
@@ImaginaryJ-km7cr how bout you pick up the 3 jokers story before you start talking on shit you ain't know bout
@@whoknows8587 bruh literally almost everyone in the comments are saying that joker doesn’t have one true origin, I’m not saying that the killing joke isn’t the most common or unrealistic for the joker, I’m just saying what the majority is saying, so don’t get mad at me for saying the word of the masses, I didn’t say anything offensive like geez…
Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, and Tim Drake are actually Bruce’s legal adopted children. So yes, you were correct, they view Bruce as both a mentor and a father.
Amazo could fly because, before his deactivation, he absorbed many heavy hitters like Superman and Hawkwoman. That also accounts to his superstrength.
You should rename the title “Krysta and the Simp Chronicles of Jason Todd.”😂 great reaction, keep it up.
The best example of why Batman doesn’t and shouldn’t kill is in Batman Hush ( the comic not the movie) when Batman’s about to kill Joker in the alley. Also it makes the interactions with Jason, Kate, and Damian more interesting since they don’t share his strict no kill rule.
If you want reading recomendations, read anything of Batman that is Written by Scott Snyder, great stories, they usually involve most of the Batfam, and Greg Capullo’s Art is amazing.
Scott Snyder got too overindulgent and his stories became more vanity projects if anything.
@@lalalarose8197 how so?
@@classicghostrider2715 His All Star Batman and his Metal series are far below the quality of writing he had in his earlier Batman run. It seemed like he let success get to his head and figured even if he turns out a shit script no one would mind.
@@lalalarose8197 I don’t remember his All Star title, but Dark Nights Metal was cool. I’m mainly taking about the Court of Owls, Zero Year and Endgame. Even the Death of the family and the last run with Jim were pretty good too.

this movie was what got me really into Batman and the Batfam as a whole. I have such a soft spot for Jason because of this movie and it will always have such a special place in my heart.
It's been confirmed in the three joker storyline where we even get to see that jokers wife and kid from the killing joke is alive living in Antarctica and batman's always known who the joker is
I recommend watching Batman the Dark Knight Returns part 1 and 2 they are really good
YES PLEASE!!!!!💖💖💖💖
Absolutely
Also don't forget about Batman: Gotham Knight! I feel like people don't talk about that one as much.
I blame any and all nihilism I exhibit on that storyline
Why? If this movie was too difficult for her how is she going to watch those?
"They didn't rectify shit". Wow, that is like, the perfect sum up of this movie, damn.
And that's what makes it tragic.
*Jason getting beaten and wishing he stayed dead*
This girl : "thirst"
Jason Todd has gotta be my fave character of all time!
Fr
He literally reminds me of The ark Knight quote:
"You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain."
“Yeah It better shoot, your head goin be in that bag too” 😭😂 4:56
The only reason Jason ran out the lazuraz pit like that is because last he remembered was trying to ecscape and run and that’s the only thing he remembered when he was resurrected.
It's like Jason would take a bullet for Bruce, but Bruce wouldn't do the same.
Jason was heartbroken that Batman didn't avenge him that alone to him felt like he didn't love him at all cuz he once said this to Damien while fighting him: let me tell you something about your father he pretended to love me then let the Joker Get Away by blowing me up
Superman stopped him no way
Been a year and I will NEVER stop begging for a Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker Reaction
I love it
It’s the sound effects for me 😍♥️😂 7:00!
Batman is the WORTS substitute father ever. training kids to be his child soldiers for some personal obsession he has!
I mean, he does dress up like a bat and take his PTSD out on criminals and the mentally-ill, so...
Ras' sees Bruce as the son he never had, so it makes sense he'd have empathy for the Robins (closest thing to grand children before Damien).
Fun fact Jason out of all three of the orphans was the only one Bruce adopted so he actually did loose a son
Personally i would have had joker know imedeately as jason pulled out the crowbar, because he actually does have the same crowbar he used to beat up jason as a suveneer
9:07 Like Joker said in The Killing Joke, "Sometimes I remember it one way and sometimes another." Even he doesn't know his origin story.
This Joker origin story is the classic one that is the most often used. If you wanna dig deeper into it, I'd recommend you to read The Killing Joke, it's actually a pretty short story.
Krystalogy you should totally check out The Batman Vs Dracula ( yes it's a real animated movie lol 😂 )
That movie was fire especially the “The Batman” show the character designs were so cool to me as a kid I even bought the action figures

it is?? wow I thought I saw some fanart somewhere but didn't know it's real lol
If you have not seen the Killing Joke movie,
DON’T. Just read the comic.
You’re welcome
Yes! Thank you!
Lmao
That flashback was meant to be with Joker’s first identity before he became the clown prince of crime. He had the identity of the Red Hood which was used by other criminals, while Jason had a different take on it, Joker was the first we see wearing the hood.
when she spends half the movie pretending Jason didn't get killed because Arkham Knight changed the plot LMAO
😅
I think you would like Batman Bad blood. It's one of the most recent ones but it has a lot of the bat family in it and i think it's a good one.
Jason Omara was a great Batman, but he had a bad run when it came to standalone movies.
Great comics you picked up, but just a heads up, you HAVE to read Batman: The Killing Joke before you read Three Jokers, which is basically a sequel to it. Also because The Killing Joke is one of the best batman comics ever, and features what most agree is the definitive Joker origin story.
You haven’t lost your touch Bruce!
Definitely recommend Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker

I love how Robby in Cobra Kai got Red Hooded by Johnny in Cobra Kai Season 3 with the locker now that I think about it Robby and Jason are almost exactly the same.
9:22 Joker has said that he “doesn’t remember” who he truly was before he became the Joker. He’s said that all of his made-up origin stories have blended together to form his own reality.
"those are the heads of all your Lieutenants that's what I can get done in a couple hours wanna see what I can get done in a whole evening"
*Jason comes back from the dead
Krysta: 😲😂😂😂😂😂
Under The Red Hood is one of my favorite movies. Introduced me to Jason Todd and Red Hood for the first time. He's definitely one of my favorite partners of Batman as he had a lot of struggles to him. Also, you look very cute Krysta. Just... Had to say it
Fun Fact about Dick: in the comics, each of his buttcheeks has a name. Jim and Juan. Names given by his gymnastics students who were all down bad for him.
I don't blame them lmao
You should read the killing joke if you're interested in learning about that Joker origin story shown in this.
Poor Jason...a troubled boy at heart like Bruce
Joker has many origin stories, true, but it always leads to him as the original Red Hood falling into a chemical vat after running away from Batman at Ace Chemicals with Bats failing to catch him
Or maybe he was an ancient being, or maybe he was always a monster? Who knows?
Fun fact: The actor that plays Red Hood now plays Batman in The Long Halloween movie. I highly recommend checking it out, part two comes out in July.
That man said “and one with the crowbar”😂
If you like this, watch Batman: Death in the family. It’s a choose your own adventure style movie with 7 or so different endings that follows this movie’s premise.
This is not my favorite movie……
this is my childhood, Thank you for reacting to this you have made my day
Jason todd is and always will be my favorite robin/ DC character his true origin is in the main continuity of DC comics and it's a crime he doesnt have his own game and Movie yet its insulting
joker's origin story is never explained but if he could choose it would probably be multiple choice.
Another great chhoice for Batman movies.
John DiMaggio is a TERRIBLY under-rated Joker voice actor, imo. One of the few to bring his own ideas to the role, instead of trying to imitate Mark Hamill.
EDIT: I LOLed at “We will never know peace from horny Krysta”
My favorite line form this is "here's to warm memories "
Bats giving Jason that work. Solid Choreography 🔥🔥🔥👌🏾
honestly Jason Todd is one of the most tragic robins and also my favorite one.
We need more people watching this it’s to underrated and it’s fire.
Jason really used Batman’s government name 😂 😂 😂
She said “that’s a android?!” Girl we’re you expecting a iPhone 😂😂🤣 jokes love these reacts
this was canon in the comics at one point but since dc reboots its universe every 6 months who knows if it still is or not
The movie was never canon. The comic story it's based off of (Batman: Under the Hood) always has been.
The batarang hitting Jason's gun instead of slicing his throat feels much more in character for Batman.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 she really doesn’t miss
This Joker origin story is universally considered to be the main origin story but some comics and movies change it to fit their stories. Also this origin story was on the Arkham games so I'm surprised you didn't recognize it.
They actually released a second movie this year I believe and it's an interactive movie where you can choose the outcome. So you can actually see what would've happened if Jason didn't die or what happened of batman made it in time to save Jason. It's awesome it's called batman death in the family.
Hei Krystalogy you need to check out Batman Death in the famaly because this is another part from this Movie and because you asked if there is another movie from this going on there you have it
Keep in mind that it was the *reader’s decision* for Jason to be killed off. The death was pretty messed up even back then.
I love that Neil Patrick Harris plays Nightwing.
I usually hate commentary while watching reaction videos but damn, if you didn't make it good.
"Oh there go his gadgets, OH there goes his neck" had to laugh at that.
It's super nice to see people enjoy this movie.
2:56 calling Joker “whack” is crazy, I know you didn’t mean it that way, but I just find that so funny.💀
Under the Red Hood was a good movie, but it did condense or rewrite some stuff that kinda damages Jason's character and the story compared to the comics (Though the comics also try and retcon this stuff cos the writers loath him and love Bruce) Off the top of my head:
Jason wasn't reckless chasing after the Joker in the comics, he'd seen the Joker threaten his birth mother and trusting her, he revealed his identity to her and promised to help.
(A fan movement had it retconned that her death was faked and she was kidnapped by the doctor)
Interestingly, both she and Jason were hated by the writers and both of them came from extremely poor backgrounds and abusive households and tended to challenge Bruce a lot.
I gotta say, I love the cast of this movie
Bruce Greenwood - my 2nd fav VA for Batman. Too bad he didnt do alot of work for Batman.
Jensen Ackles - Jason Todd/Red Hood. Best know for his work in Supernatural. Huge Batman fan himself.
Neil Patrick Harris - Nightwing/Dick Grayson. Best known as Barney Stinson from HIMYM. Completely captures Dick's superheroics.
Jason Isaacs - Ra's al Ghul. Best known as Lucious Malfoy.
John DiMaggio - Joker. Best known as Bender from Futurama and Jake the Dog from Adventure Time. Still wimsy, a little bit campy, but has that insidious undertone.
“This is the best day of my life” broke me
I love this movie! Jason is one of my favorite dc characters.
I'm... reasonably sure it's body armor, same model that we saw before get hit with some lasers, and not a, hmm, turtleneck
Jason Todd is a straight up savage throughout this whole film 😂😂😂😂
so great to see your reaction to this absolute banger of a movie, one of my favourites. also somehow, thats the one of the more underplayed Jason simp moments ive ever seen. the fandom is WILD
ALSO YES VIDEOS ON THE COMICS PLZ
Red hood: finally kills the joker who has killed many people and done terrible things
Everyone: this is terrible
If you want to watch something that's a little bit weird, in the Batman animation, go watch *Batman: Gotham Knight* ... It's an Anime (well 6 short anime) made in different styles. The 6 stories connect together. My favorite is "In Darkness Dwells" (short story with Scarecrow).
Ditto. Finally someone else who's seen that. My favorites were probably 'Working Through Pain' and 'Deadshot'.
Your telling me that batman's the greatest detective ,but cant find a clown and a 14 yr old at a abandoned jail hut
