The keyboard has pretty much full functionality, however, the magnet that attaches it to the bottom of the tablet is very weak compared to the new one. I imagine this is likely due to the placement of the magnets being different. If you're also wondering about the back cover, this does not fit perfectly because of the change in camera design.

The keyboard itself works but the back cover doesn't fit exactly around the camera housomg due to minor camera size changes from s8 to s9.

I bought a cheap cover for the 9 (the one without keyboard), used the backing of the new cover (so the camera is lined up correctly), and the keyboard attachment of my 8. Works fine for me.

Unfortunately for me, I made the mistake of buying the Tab S9 last fall (at a good price) and after using for a while realized I would have appreciated the S9+. I checked and trading in the Tab S9 is not a possibility at all. Oh Well! I would have jumped at the chance.
