The washing of the coils and the fan brings me great joy. It's the simple things.
I’ve learned from you to cut the condensing unit out completely out. Spend the 10-15 minute to clean the booger up. Cutting it out makes the swap so easy. Store managers love the attention to detail cleaning everything. And then it’s always fun to hear the couple of co worker b**ch about swapping compressors on these things. These guys have got a decade or two on me, but this makes so much cents
Damn right it’s the way to go! Not to sure about the 3 n 1 tho
Bro I really appreciate everything you do and how you go through every step leaving no stone unturned ....really helpful for us new guys ....
Thank you for watching.
1 Hour you spoile us..
But the wife ain't fan of the long stupid videos I watch on the living room TV 🤣🤣🤣.
Pfff Nor-cal videos deserve big screen TV.. Women don't understand the fine art of refrigeration❤️❤️❤️❤️
Por que remprazas el relay y over load por un 3 en 1 en un compresor nuevo ?

Your a real master of your craft love the channel.
NorCal is the reason I wash the condenser every time I open the system on prep tables and walk ins.
Gold right there!👍👊 A to Z for the green guys! Supertech style!
Mate, I've been doing this for 15 years, and love it too.
Been doing this 40 years . Does not Get any Better than this !
yeah man, greenie here, and this was a blast to watch. such a stud
Good job man. Thank you for the training.
Very professional, thanks for sharing.
You really love your work!!
Nice little job Super Dave ... Very professional ...
A Complete rebuild, nice!
Cool video! Keep them coming and thank you.
Also the title says “compressor change” but the screen shot looks like a completely new condensing unit. Good job NORCAL DAVE. I hope to be NORMN PAT someday when I get sick of working in the Twins of Cities.
I love the astro van. Its tight but you make it work
Great video Dave from start to finish I like those videos keep up with the good work
Top shelf , Dr Dave
Good work friend, I really like your videos from beginning to end, I encourage you to upload more videos so it helps us a lot to those of us who are starting in this beautiful profession, greetings from Spain friend!
You are the man Dave I like those long Video👍
Right on awesome video keep them coming 😊
Good job .keep sending these good videos
Is it odd that I do this stuff all day then go home and watch others doing it 🤔?
Me too. Lol
Haha, its sad, but I do the same.
Me too also! Sickos
Technically, I am getting paid to watch this.
Nor-Caltitis 😁
Fabulous 👌 work
excellent work👍👍👍👍
Great video.
that was a thing of beauty!
Thank you
must be a habit... inverting the 134 drum... my drum lasts several years and is heavy for a while , so I look forward to sitting it straight up.. good video glad you make the time to share..
Good video Dave little Tecumseh action
Soy tu fan amo tu trabajo lo haces bien
@nor-cal πολύ καλή δουλειά.επαγγελματικη
I order those knee pads taken your word for it. My current pads tear the back of my knees up and after awhile knees start to get sore. 🤙🏻 🏄♂️
Im re-living my day at work.
i'm not an HVACR tech but i sure do love Wagos!!!!
Nice job buddy A to Z video 👍👍👍
🤘⚡️🤘
Good cleaning
Ok thats it, I'm a getting me one of them "Impact Benders"!
Very clean and efficient work Dave 👍, how long does a job like that take you in real time?
We love the burgers. Love it!!!
good video 👍
That is some impressive washing skill 😂
Cool!
Excelent vídeo
Very good.
love your vids Dave! quick question why did you swap supco 3in1 instead of the original starting components?? i get it if they were bad but in a new compressor wouldnt you just run oem?
thanks
Muy bueno muito bom Very Good.
Abraços do Brazil.
Liked the video and would like to know more about the connection of the hard start kit. Thanks
The wago wire nuts?
for this brand new compressor, do you need to add refrigerant oil after you vacuum the system, or right amount of oil is already in the compressor?
Would tell us about that torch lighter? I've never seen one like that before. Great video!
Like that go pro what editor software do you use.?
?
It it's always a pleasure watching you work great attention to detail from start to finish. don't worry about the TH-cam police they're all hacks anyways
Screw the TH-cam police! He was there doing the work not them.0
Great looking job but why are you using a 3 in 1 start just curious
63 bucks for a full tank of juice, jeez mines £80 that's 108 bucks 😫😫😫, another 👌👌 video from nor-cal Dave👍👍👍👍
Awesome video Dave thanks for your videos you make. What happen to the Nerd?
Thanks for the video. Question, when you use the 3 in 1 starter do you lose heat overload protection? Thanks again
The Compressor will still have a internal over load, but you will lose any actual external current overload.
If a 3 In 1 has one, it'll be generic, and not best suited for any specific compressor application. 3 in 1's are a great temporary solution, but the best fix is OEM start gear. That being said, customers trying to save money have had good experiences with aftermarket start component longevity.
brand new straight from the factory after you clean the condenser lol great job Dave
Right on brother I’m in the 916
David do evaporator change out on a maker table from start to finish like you did with compresor
Hi, Dave I’ve been watching your videos for over two year now and I have notice you don’t use the cordless vacuum pump (navac). Does it means it’s broken, or you don’t use it that often now? Keep up making videos 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Still use it on the small units.
That's funny, and true..
If you replace the compressor
Is it a good idea to go ahead and replace the motor also?
keep some old coat hanger wire in your toolbox then you can quickly make pipe templates for offsets etc
You threw put the instructions Dave, haha, just kidding, done like a pro!
Have you tried using refrigerant recovery pliers for recovery instead of piercing valves?
why the compressor have 3 ports?one is discharge the second is suction and the third port is both suction and service port at the same time?
also i would like to ask if the diameter of the liquid line pipe is smaller than the discharge line..
Nice setup with the truck. What would you say it cost to get setup with everything?
heu was wondering why not put in a brand new condensing unit instead of compressor and fan ?
Need a Recovery and vacpump combo calling any suppliers out there.
Dave love your style and videos. But condemning a compressor without checking pressures? What if it was flat out of gas or low?
That bit me a couple years ago. Changed reach in compressor and there was a small leak at the evaporator. Customer was rightfully upset lol.
Not hating, just throwin the chips out there.
That’s usually the case. Evap leak dirty condenser leads to dead compressor. This would of got a coil it was a leaker. Also.
U are great ☺️ sir I am big fan ☺️ sir
Hi dave can you send me please link for the swaging tool kit??
Do you have any idea what unit this was ? I need something very similar
@Nor-Cal can you link those swedge tools you had for the power drill?
I’ll enter in the description
Could you explain 26:34. (The replacement of oem start components) maybe in a separate video. Your videos are so helpful and this one was probably one of the best👍. If your compressor is designed for "x" btu capacity...does it need modification?
I’ve had it cycle to fast without equalization and not start without a start capacitor. I did not have the cap for this compressor so I just installed the 3 in 1
@@NorCal-refrigerationThanks that's interesting I wonder if that was a weak compressor or bad control design 🤷♂️. Definitely have my next question for the next training session 😂🤘👊
@@NorCal-refrigeration if you look in the tecumseh, it will show you which one, but since you installed the 3 n 1 and got it working! Who gives a rats rear end!! Get you some Dave!!!! Yeeeehaaaa!
would you ever use Stay Brite 8 solder ?
An AE3425. Is this a 1\4 hp? Why the 1\2 hp Supco roc? You said for the start cap. Then why not get a compressor that has a start cap? Like the AE4440y. Just curious
Thanks Dave, great video! 👍 how did you remove core removal tool without losing vacuum? When you charge the system do you add extra to account for refr in the manifold and hoses? Thanks. Learning a lot from you ;)
I am assuming Dave pinch off the line then cut the service port and braze it ? Look up true hydrocarbon training video you can see it being done?
You ever shove copper wire or a small diameter pipe in the hoses to reduce line loss ?
No
new guy here. did you flux the joints before un-soldering? never done that, what's the reason? thanks!
Yes it's flux. Keeps the joint clean, and makes cleaning it before the new weld easier, if even needed at all.
Nice video bro, nice tools, but in Malaysia never like this, all they want is cheap work, but want high quality job, I'm so stressed
At 11:45 what was that done for? Is that a flux or some type of cleaning agent? Im just an electrician that loves watching these videos so just trying to learn.
How come you did not put a filter on the recovery unit
I don’t have one that fits at this time.
What bit did you use in the drill for the swaging of the copper line?
amzn.to/3UYl7oZ
What was the paste you used before unsweating old compressor?
Flux.
Why'd you put a 3n1?
How come u didn’t install the compressor grommet sleeves...u tossed in the garbage. Were the old ones still on the bolts
Yes still holding the bolts
Hey Super Tech Dave, what psi you put your acetylene and o2 on?
5 acetylene and 10-20 oxygen
@@NorCal-refrigeration I use 5 on oxygen and 3 on acetylene
My HVAC guy just replaced the Compressor and thermostat but it's still not running like it supposed to. It runs for 2 min and locks up and then starts the same Cycle. A month later it stopped cooling. He so recharged the freon. He can't figure out what's wrong and wants to try a txv valve and or the 3 n1 starter. It's a true commercial kegerator tdb-24-48-1-g1. Any pointers?
Way too many variables to try and diagnose. You need to find an actual pro.
IM ON A SERVICE CALL! Hahahaha yep
I was skipping around the video a lil bit and maybe I didn’t catch it but did you put flux on the compressor joints before you unsweat them? What’s that do?
Keeps em clean and smooth
@@NorCal-refrigeration what flux do you use if you don’t me asking? THANKS!
You trash the external compressor overload with the OEM relay??
I did.
50:31 this world is gonna happen this and that......hey ! I am in service calll, I don't have time for that sXXt.
hahaha.... I love it! this is service guy 's response----focus on your hand! face the problem first!
Between Tecumseh and Copeland, which manufacturer makes the best compressors?
Tecumseh
Congrats on being the highest paid person to ever use that sink haha
What do you guys and gals think of the solder on piercing valve?
Braze on a little service port better. I just use those piercing valves to recover.
Ok thanks
7:30 - How often can you use a bullet before it starts leaking and you have to get a new one?
I’ve seen them on units a long time. I just like not using them. But they work
What knee pads are those? Looks like they've lasted a while
Knee pros the best.
totally agree, I bought mine five or six years ago on your recommendation, they’re great. They don’t slip down. They’re not rolling and they’re really really comfortable.
The commentary alone is hilARIOUS. Honey im on a service call, screw the capitol right now.
50:30 Lol hell yeah 😄
I’ve never worked on equipment like that, how long does a job like that usually take?
Nor-Cal Dave probably 2 hours. For me an eight hour job. 😂
@@davidlopan6649 damn!!! It takes me much longer to screw the goat on that one!
It seems like those small units are just a pain to work on. Very little room to work. The only good thing there is that is that there were no employees working.
Asmr hvac video
Dave, what was the charge you weighed out? You never said. Really nice job. 👍
12oz.
@51:58
@@NorCal-refrigeration no I was wondering what the charge was you recovered
