Mommy Golden Retriever Disciplining Her Pups. Big Brother Plays with them.

This is Goldie's second litter: Jack and Jill. The pups are 6 weeks old and have become a handful. Mother dog disciplines them in Mother Nature's way. Then we see the pups interacting with their older brother.

I genuinely think if there were no humans around supervising, that dog would kill those puppies. It seems to get off from the sound of the whining and seeing them squirm around. I have never seen that kind of behaviour from a mother dog before!

Labs aren’t my favorite dog but lab puppies have to be the cutest puppies, hands down. It’s hard to watch em do that to the pups but it has to be done to toughen em up a little so they can stand there ground when needed. Thousands of years ago they prob wouldn’t make it past the age of 1 year old if they had not been taught this stuff. ❤️🐾🐶

I've never seen a mother dog drag/nip a pup like that before to correct, usually a bark or growl is enough or putting them on their side in submissive state....seems she's been abusive.......
EDIT:: After watching the vid again mths later, could it be that mom is playing with her pups....?

Omg they're playing where they pooped and stepping on the poop 💩 and dad even lay on the poop 😧. Yuck! We never let our Goldie play nor go near his poop after he goes. And not pick it up right away...😳

That's not daddy dog fighting with mama dog about discipline. That's Big Brother telling mama to back off His little siblings cause she was getting a bit hard on them. They were doing nothing but running around. There was no reason for the mom to really be disciplining them at that time, Big Brother was protecting his younger siblings. That was just my take on how I saw that go down.

I watched the other video and thought it was ok for the mother to discipline her pup this way but now seeing her interact with other pups i see there's a pattern and it is unhealthy, it is how she normally interacts with her pups and it is not safe, for a mama dog to discipline her pups there needs to be a triggering behavor from the pup. This is a traumatized mama dog taking it on her pups. Watch out for it is not ok
