@@denofearthundertheeverlast5138 hey Den! Totally! That bass fishing is basically what the 2500c was originally designed for. Hi mate, really looking forward to the finished reel. Not sure whether you can get them for that reel, but pretty sure the one size fits all in ABU, it does in the larger sizes anyhow. That is a ceramic pawl.May be another little add on.Cheers.
James! It’s been a minute! Hope all is well with you my friend. To respond to your suggestion, you read my mind and I did actually pick up a ceramic pawl! It must have come after this video was made though and so that is the reason it was not included. I think the ceramic pawl has 2 advantages over the steel one. 1. Weight. It might not be a big difference but the pawl on these reels is something that needs to move when you cast. 2. A lower coefficient of friction. I can’t tell you how much lower but it’s on of the reasons why ceramic ball bearings spin longer than stainless steel bearings. Anywho, thank you for chiming in and it’s good to see you again! @@mojondro hey Victor! I actually don’t use the trout magnet as a benchmark. Maybe I did when this video came out a while(years) back? It’s a bit mind boggling but soft plastics work well at the very least. Anywho, getting back to trout magnets… I think people mainly use that as a benchmark because it weighs about 1g and it’s the smallest lure/jighead that most people can think of.
