What is the difference between a deceptive stroke and a trick shot?
- A TRICK SHOT is by definition 'trick' something that you want to ''show off''. They are difficult to pull off - but very fancy, and they don't have a high chance of succes , but a quite high chance of a failure. - A DECEPTION is a certain types of strokes that confuses your opponent. Trying to keep your opponent guessing by showing 'one stroke' but performing 'another stroke'. The technique related to deceptions is however not that difficult compared to the technique in trick shots. These deceptions are easier to pull off, not that fancy, they have a higher chance of succes, and a low chance for a failure.
So that means a deceptive trick shot is a fancy stroke that confuses your opponent, risky and has a very low chance of success and high chance of failure…?
@@Vincent-en2nw Great question 😂 What's listed in this video is only deceptions. Some of them might be a bit trick shot like. Some people don't know the word deception, so that's another thing we try to help with badminton terms and definitions.👍✌️
Thank you to you both for doing these videos, your recent mini series part 2 helped me to play the 2 best matches i've ever played last year and helped my team to beat one of the best teams in our league. Hope you both had a good christmas and happy new year. Look forward to more videos next year. :)
Hi Admin, I have one qustion if someone hit smashe but did not touch the shuttle can he hit the shuttle coming down..will it be a foul or treat as deception?
We do not see similar shots often in international games because these shots cannot be played when the player is forced to move quickly all over the court. In these exercises, the player stood at the same spot and was fed with the shuttlecock. This allows the player to focus only on the arm movements. In a real game, however, hitting will not be so "comfortable." The deceptive shots can deceive the opponent but at the same time substantially increase the rate of error (because of the additional movements involved). At the end, it's fun but not necessarily worthwhile.
Nice wok! btw Which racket are you using.. I think n90 woods? I used to have one - Loved it! and unfortunately broke it in half. And cannot seem to find the same model anywhere...
Great video man!! I tried and I am successfull..looking forward to videos Btw .love this channel I will recommend this channel to who are eager to learn badminton 🤙 @Badminton Exercises
can u pls make a video on the deception used by lin dan against lee chong wei in the finals of men’s singles world championships 2013 in the opening game at 8 all,pls reply as soon as possible pls!!pls ill be thankful to you
Wouldn't the last one be better by showing a drop shot and lifting instead ? As Tai Tzu Ying does in like every matches and still catches her opponents off guard.

If I am on the 2nd corner of ground then how could i even think of playing de accelerated shot I should have to be on the net to play it and opportunities are only given by luck But otherwise vedio was nice I learnt something nem
The boy in the video has proficient skill and I believe he can confuse his opponent by most of these shots, but this video still has some problem. The tip of deception is not " fake missing", actually, we trick out the opponent with timing and small racket deflection by our fingers. When we do the " fake missing", the racket movement will too slow and cumbersome, it will let us make errors in the real game and can't get good effect. BTW, the no.10 shot is useless trick shot.
You seem very critical 👌 Obviously you can't 'fake hit or fake miss' the shuttle. But when you explain it that way, everyone understands you 🤘 The definition about deceptive strokes as you see, we totally agree with you. Maybe we could expand that definition to also include timing that isn't happening in our fingers? Best regards
Well done , iam following you guys for about 2years and the quality of your videos are so good, totally I love it

They are not used often. The player must normally have a lot of confidence to play them.
Are deceptions useful in real game? Can you do some deceptive returns in singles on low serve and how to do deceptive clear?
