Its important to point out: A request for production is only served on the parties of a lawsuit. A subpoena is served on non parties, such as a party's bank.

I've been pro se in 5 civil cases, 1 criminal/citation case, 1 family court case, and 1 probate case. I should have become an attorney 😂😅. This video is everything i had to learn on my own in over 4 years of researching and trail and error. The biggest help to me was videos just like this and also setting in on other cases, as well as downloading many motions, looking at format, and reasonings behind them being filed in similar cases. Excellent video sir! A+

Sir, what you have to say on the instance of litigation which has happened in one your given Court-
    "
He is right that NPR is not legal. The rules were framed later on & they have operated in advance. Further, it is his correct & authentic argument the citizenship of each & every one is proved in the same way as of PM. If you are born here in India no document is required under rule 3 of the constitution. His host of arguments are convincing & substantive.
However, the illogical & arrogance in the game awe fully changes the direction.Particularly the legal fraternity knows it. In my one legal Case filed in the District Court, 'Tis Hazari, delhi I leant that my Advocate & myself have won the Case. However, the certified copy will be given in a day or two as Judge is busy.
When my Advocate went over to collect the Judgment Order
Issued under injunction Order 39, we found to our utter dismay that it has been reversed.
So, it is disappointing to see that Victory of both Advocate & Petitioner has been reversed. I was rudely taken aback. This all was happening when no proper Power of attorney & no written statement was ever filed by NIC, who had issued an official circular that 15 lacs of Govt undertaking money has been stolen from the Gov bank account. It all happened & transpired while CBI enquiry is officially going on in the Office. They were checking the numerous files of many officers & i being one of them. They all gave full clearances to me but on this Case which was fabricated during their presence, CBI is keeping silence.
Therefore, you will please that many good & competent advocate just fall victim to the whim & fancy of mischief mongers. And, no check is there.
The arrogance of the officials is hiding the truth & ridiculing the fight of my Advocate & myself who had vigorously fought this false & vicious Case. Thus, the colors of the courage of the Advocate just perished in a jiffy at the hands of hatred, bigotry & corruption. So, pl take proper remedial steps for your fight lest it may not go waist as my Advocate faced it helplessly."

@@attorneysteve I believe it! For me, I learned professional photography NEITHER by taking photo/art classes NOR by talking to alleged photography experts who work in camera stores. Rather, I learned how to light and create strong creative compositions by going out in the real world and just doing photography.
I imagine you don’t necessarily learn law by graduating law school, but by actually practicing law in front of the court and next to adversaries and with real paying clients.

Great video Steve. I started working remotely as an attorey assistant. I need to know deadlines. After the complaint it comes the answer, but sometimes there is a summon of complaint. Summon is the obligation to answer the complaint? You said there are 30 days for the answer. If the deffendant answers the plaintiff presents the POS? and if there isn't an answer there is an OSC? When is there a hearing for OSC? What is the difference between POS and Proof Of Personal Service? Sorry, I need to keep my job , but I'm going crazy! There is no information on the internet until I 've found you!

Hi Vanina, my information is general in nature. Check your local rules to see when a response is due. In many cases it is 21 days (federal court) and often 30 days in state court. But this can vary. Best, Steve

thank you very much, nice work. question: how is it played out when the person making the claim - plaintiff - makes claim and never gives paperwork to follow up on, making the defendant look flaky to the court?

Great video, I have a question from another perspective. Back in October I was involved in a 18wheeler accident with broken bones and more injuries. Currently in my case we are in discovery stage due to them denying the claims, and I just answered the questions they send yesterday. If my answers and evidence to support my claim, is the judge going to read over both our claims and if he feels I have enough evidence, can they rule before trial based on the answers on discovery?

I have read NOT to attach exhibits to your complaint because they will claim you are trying to circumvent the evidence process and trying to get around laying foundation, etc. and they can object to using that evidence later. Can you elaborate on this? When and what types of exhibits to include - when NOT to, and also whether or not you should include an affidavit with your complaint if you are propria persona? Thank you.

I wish an adult in my life had directed me into the legal field rather than journalism; but, then again, I would not have got screwed because of my journalism knowledge which requires me to need an attorney. At least now I understand the work my attorney has on her plate.

Hi Attorney Steve ... how do you sue companies that are registered in another state but not California? I tried to file a small claims case (for statutory damages for violating the Do-Not-Call list), but the clerk wouldn’t accept it. The FCRA is a federal statute. Do you have to file such claims in federal court? Or just Superior court?
