- information on how a rsf governor works and how to adjust the full rack travel to get more power out of you Mercedes diesel / turbo diesel.
plus about a stop solenoid fault that my pump had due to incorrect installation
this is a rough "backyard" method of adjustment that will only improve the power so much...
for the best results buy a modified and pre tuned pump for people
like diesel meken.
I sell ALDA seal kits for the mercedes bosch pumps and you can find them here...

Give this guy some likes folks. Best explanation I've ever seen.
Probably the most insightful injector pump "how to" video
Can you tell me the the adjust of the governor for the 662 om now the rack control is undestand for me but the pump change and the adjust position in the M pumps ..my best regards👍
Hey man thank you so much for this video and the explanation. I'm having some issues with my torque capsule. It slowly backed out on its own causing the RPMs to not come back down while I was driving it. I opened up the pump and adjusted it after watching your video and I added a little bit of loctite. Lasted for about a thousand miles and now the issue is back. I'm guessing I didn't clean it well enough before I used the Loctite. Have you ever had this issue?
will this work on Mercades om617 motor to give me a little bit more power i already replaced the stock turbo with a newer turbo model he221 turbo thank u
what if i turn the rack travel adjustment 2 full turns to get me more fuel will that hurt my motor
Hello, I put an injector pump similar to that one, my problem is that it does not deliver enough fuel for a cold start, how do you increase the starting flow? Greetings from Argentina.
I have an issue... Was hoping you could give me an idea of where to look. I changed the o rings and copper washers on the top of the injection pump, and now my stop lever has resistance in the stop area of its travel, which prevents it from moving back up when I turn the ignition on. I have to give it a nudge for it to flip up and allow the car to start. It's an 87 300d. Any ideas?
Thats usefull info. Thanks.
Im in the process of fitting 7.7mm elements in my 603 pump.
It turns out that there no markings to make sure the flywheel goes back correctly.
Any tips?
Hi good day... Do u perhaps have tutorial video on how to do it yourself??
5:56, I bent a bit the bottom lever side to clear the stock Allen bolt head, visually near 3mm more throttle lever travel.
I really enjoyed that I appreciate
Really good video
Nice video. Good job guy
Hello. Thank you for the nice job that you do, this is very helpful and interesting videos.
I'm looking for a video on how to clean, adjust and replace the non electronic idle control valve on an OM602 engine.
Do you know if such a video exists?
Thank you.
Armand
no sorry.
What else have you done to the engine? I'd like to increase my Om603's torque but don't really care for more Hp. 740nm is a lot of Torque I'd love to have
Look in the vid - it says 740nm at the wheels!
Hola soy cubano quisiera ver una traduccion de este video ya que tengo problema con mi bomba de inyeccion
Does someone know if I want to increase the fuel load I should back out the screw or tighten it ?
turn it ccw bro
@@ahmetbolukbas9216 what does "ccw" mean?
Hello.
Thanks for the informative video.
On my pump i have engine shaking on idle. It seems like rack is shaking on idle. What do i need to adjust?
Thanks in advance.
Shake could be a misfire / non fire of a cylinder.
That's seems more likely a problem with delivery to a cylinder and the pump is reacting to it.
If a pump has an adjustment problem it's more likely to hunt up and down with rpm no make the motor shake.
Get a laser temp gun and check each cylinder output on the exhaust manifold at idle.
That will point out if you have a cylinder that's not firing. The temps will be like 120, 110, 60 ,115 c
@@benzperformanceparts3762 hi
Cylinders fire well.
Its not a misfiring. I know how misfire looks like.
This is some pump issue.
Its not shaking to much. You can fill it on idle only. I'm pretty sure that rack hunts. Also have some tickling noise when driving with no load.
For me it seems like governor sensitivity is to high maybe.
@@amf4591 you might need to tighten up the toque capsule as that's what applies resistance to the rack.
That might stop it jumping around
@@benzperformanceparts3762 thanks
Will try that.
I thought that governor spring is too loose.
First will adjust rack travel, then torque capsule.
@@amf4591 sorry. Yes the governor spring is what you need to adjust. It pushes the torque capsule.
So it's same part. Just 2 different adjustment.
If you have turned the rack travel to far. It will push the governor system past the point where it works.
It does strange things when you go past the maximum adjustment point
Why my lever stays full open also if i push it back 😬
And stays in full throttle
my car is a 2.5 same pump and is smoking horrible, do you think is a matter of simple adjusment or something else like weights or some internal damage
thanks
What did it end up being
Zabardast video
Hi, what timing do you set to the injection pump?
José Joaquín Arias Giralt . I believe the factory setting is 14°
I had to set mine lower due to timing chain wear.
Mine was set to about 10 or 11 on the crank.
But with bigger injection pump you need more timining.
Black smoke racing runs over 8 mm pump and 18° at 40 psi
Good video, very informative
Super vidéo merci
thank you very much for this video Ive been searching for a while. I am going to attempt to increase my pump on a 83 om617. I am going to pair it with a Hy or hx35 and and a/a intercooler. I do have some more questions for you. I still have no idea how to time the engine. could you do a vid on that?
Ben Rawcliffe hello Ben thank you for replying back to me. since watching your video I have removed the alda and tweaked the pump a little on my om617 she's running great. your advice will be some help and I will save your email. in the future I plan to remove the pump to get it built by dieselmeken so your help will be greatly appreciated for an easy removal and install. thanks again
Ben Rawcliffe that sounds like a good idea I will be installing an egt probe some time soon
I've got a "run on scenario"
My motor revs really quickly and it takes a while to get back down
Turn the torque capsule cw in short intervals and check. You may need to try this a few times, hope it helps
A good day is there somebody that can help whit instructions how to replace this diesel pump the marks on the timing and so on
Marthinus Stapelberg
You will have to search for a video on injection pump timing or removal and replacement
Hello nice, I would like to have some help please .... I have a w210 and I do not find information on the synchronization of the injector pump is a motor 606.962 .... what I found is that it is done at 14.5 dpms .. ..soy of chile would be very helpful if I could provide some information in advance many thanks and note that they develop very good car greetings :)
1998 is the car
My question is how to synchronize the injection pump, engine 606.962
@@cjmaxmen Hey Carlos i know it's been 4 years but did you figure it out? I'm in the same boat as you...
