I can relate to your ordeal. I got my antigen test within 24 hours , but the one health wanted my pcr test info because they hadn't updated to the new requirements. I just sent it in anyway, and it worked. Upon arrival, I had to show the one health pass like 5 different times and was never asked for my insurance papers. Lots of stress for no reason but made it through. I'm renting a car out of Manila for a couple of weeks and have a different stress test every day, but it's all good because I'm here. Thanks for sharing your information with those still planning on coming.

The experience he had at the airport with the clerk is Testament to how Filipinos really view and disdain foreigner; they think they know why you are coming and they begrudge you because they think you are wealthy and they wish they had what you have - freedom, wealth and prosperity these are not the angelic people many vloggers would like everyone to believe.

    • @hanglee5586
      @hanglee5586 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Yeah we are rich compared to the 70% of Filipinos who make $600 a month and less. That percentage of Filipino cannot even go to a foreign country nearby. That’s the truth and reality in the Philippines 🇵🇭.

Funnily enough I got my one health pass march 14 without uploading the negative PCR test ,it was 3 days prior to boarding from Sydney to Cebu?
I had no issues whatsoever entering Philippines.
Just had to show all doc's at immigration on entry.
It was a super smooth process for me ☺️

Hi Paul, One Health Pass was a real pain , it had glitches , I got it done just as you did. I up graded to Business Class for the flight (PAL) , because I’m 6’ 2” and 215 lbs and didn’t want to be packed in a can like a dead fish, Philippines Airlines was wonderful in Business Class, I assisted a Handicapped Veteran that was sitting next to me the whole flight , what great person . We were escorted through every thing at Manila Airport and Customs just waived us right on through, and I mean just waived with a 😃 smile and I was sweating customs because I had electronics, five tablets, one laptop, four phones as personal items that were brought as gifts for my sister in law’s family that lost everything in the typhoon earlier this year.. Got to Love The Philippines , you never know what to expect. I left the attitudes at home.
Enjoy More in The Philippines Salamat..

I have been writing on your site for 2 years about my intended trip to the Philippines. I've just reviewed my plans "I'm not going" although financially things are quite good for me. I'll stay in Australia. People also going to Thailand where I have been often are telling stories as bad as your experience or even worse with airlines and things have improved a bit but not quite so bad with immigration. But now worse with airlines.

PAL - means palaging late (always late) the international ground crew and flight attendants are one of the worst unfriendliest in the industry. Of course if you fly businesses class they treat you differently and you can check in 3 luggage at 70 not 50 lbs each and you get to go in a lounge until you board.

I'm sure everyone remembers flights to hell and back. My memorable flight involved United Airlines which kept taxiing to the runway, then turning around and returning to the gate, THREE TIMES. We ended up taking off 2 hours late, I missed my connection in Tokyo. In Tokyo I was informed there were no seats on connecting flights available for the next three days. I had to stay in a cheap hotel at the airline's expense for those three days. All I got was breakfast. But at least I did eventually get home.

Every time I have gone through that airport I always get off the plane on one side and every time my connecting flight is on the farthest gate possible. It seems like it is like 10 miles from one side to the other especially when you only have a one hour layover.

i can relate to the stress side of the test, they wanted an RT PCR test which was very hard to get in my area of the midwest, but it was within 48 hours of leaving the country or your first flight proir, i left for manila on feb 25th... im curious when it was changed to 24 hours because im not sure i could have pulled that off. i returned to the u.s. on march 18th and have been wishing i was in phi ever since. Take care kids i hope to meet up with you someday...hope to be back around christmas.

Airline travel can be annoying under normal circumstances. And normal is long gone. I just booked a flight from LA to Manila for January 2023. It will be near the end of a round the globe trip from Bangkok to NY to LA to PHP and then back to Bangkok. Perhaps by then we'll have fewer hurdles to jump over.

I’m glad you made it home safe,
    Sounds like a little stressful,
I hope that test goes away when it’s
    my time to visit.

All that matters is that "you win". Glad that you had a good time with family and also glad that you made it back home safely. As for the ordeal, we've all been there one way or another hahahahahahha. All that matters is that at the end of the day, you win ;-)

Wow Paul, that was an amazing story. Talk about Murphy’s Law, everything that could go wrong did go wrong with you, ha ha. But the amazing part, is how cool and patient you were. The thought that went through my mind as you were telling your story is, once “Junior’s” mind was a made up that he was gonna give you a hard time, why didn’t you have the more experienced agent “come back again” to review all of your paperwork, and wave you through, once she realized what a jerk the kid was being? Bottom line, this is a really great blog you put out, to make sure we have our ducks lined up in traveling to America, and coming back to the Philippines again.
Hey Paul, I have a really important question to ask. I’m 66, and will be retiring to the Philippines by the end of this year. From watching yours and Mae’s blogs, I think Valencia would be a great place for me to retire. But could you do a blog about the medical situation in Valencia? In other words, is there a major hospital that rises “close” to the level of American hospitals, for us old farts, ha ha?

I feel for you Paul and the frustration you endured with that J/O. Been there before. But the shinning star is the Extra money you had to spend for the room night and covid test was cancelled out by the bag overage fee that you escaped. Glad you made it back safely.

Hi Paul, Peter from Brisbane, we had lunch in Duma a month ago.
I didn't know anything about the One Health pass until I got to the check in! , "Junior" grabbed my phone and filled it out for me in 5 minutes! (Plane was only half full so guess that helped

Reason why I halted my traveling. The test and so many more hassles made me decide to be stuck in Manila for 2 yrs. I hated too much "activities" when you're about to fly.
