Well they still released characters after Season 3 was over. I'm not sure if they will be doing a Season 4 after Eagle is released. I've heard a rumor about a new Killer Instinct in the works. If it is true then maybe we'll hear about it at Microsoft's E3 press conference this Sunday.

You can customize your characters in the in-game store. On the main menu go to Store, then Fighters and pick the character you want to customize. The Conker outfit is only available for the Retro Costume Rash.

It is a very difficult game. You have a lifebar of 6 points, but damn near everything in the game kills you in 1 or 2 hits, and you only get between 3 and 5 lives, and only 3 continues. There's only...8(?) stages in the game, all of which are fairly long and difficult as hell.
HOwever! The difficulty is both frustrating and entertaining. If you'd like, watch the 4-way Battletoads race between ProtonJon, NintendoCapriSun, Pcull and...I honestly forgot who the 4th person was. It's highly entertaining
