Also, inside box volume must be given as per pioneer company specification. Box size for straight and reverse should be different. You can't test with same size box and compare directly.

When it comes to sound quality, ported is the worst option. Sealed is the best for sound quality. Proven time and time again. You should know this Mr. "Engineer". "Reverse mounting", or invert mounting, as it's actually called... only affects the internal volume of the enclosure. It will give a very slight increase to the internal volume of the enclosure which in turn will change the output, this can negatively affect your subwoofer in the case of its linear excursion. You will more easily reach its xmax due to the larger internal volume. Port area has nothing to do with this, if you design the enclosure with invert mounting in mind. However if you were to invert mount when the box is meant for a normally mounted subwoofer, the port area won't necessarily increase. It all depends on tuning frequency and wattage. Come on, I'm not even out of high school and have just done research on the side and can say that everything that you've said so far is almost entirely incorrect. If you're actually an engineer and went to school for multiple years to get a degree, then it seems like I could get a doctoral degree in acoustical engineering without breaking a sweat.

No... "Best" is subjective in this case. A smaller subwoofer in a sealed box will give better sound quality. A 24 inch subwoofer is unwieldy and unreasonable, definitely not meant for sound quality. You have to have an extremely large motor to make sure that the cone doesn't cause distortion due to its own mass.
@@nkkox bcoz mounting in reverse may chance to damage the coil or subs. All the subs need an air push force. While mounding in reverce that air is flow to the trunk. if it is in a box the sub back air force is flown to the box and vibration of the sub the sub can be minimised.

Mounting it on the outside is actually better because it will keep the coil cooler when playing at high volumes. With it on the inside of the box it will store up heat and burn up a coil faster. However if you just play at normal volumes and don't overpower it you shouldn't have a problem either way. The only difference in reality, is that invert mounting makes it easier to wire. Simple as that.

A subwoofer works by taking AC current into the coil to move the diaphragm back and forth in a linear motion. This causes an increase in pressure on the inside of the enclosure which is released via the port. This port can be tuned to a certain frequency based on the volume and wattage input which will make a DB gain on the set frequency. All this noise is coming from the cone and from the port. I have designed and built numerous sound systems for many many people, many of which have had subwoofers which were invert mounted. Half the time it makes it LOUDER. You don't know what you're talking about. Mounting the subwoofer backwards does not make the "air go backwards." When the cone moves it makes pressure inside the enclosure and therefore the port will be used. It doesn't matter which way you mount the sub, it will create a pressure difference on the inside of the box and on the outside of the box.
