Hi Ian, good comparison video mate. I have two 'NGT toasties makers' which came with free neoprene covers from a well known online store which was "Amazing" lol, one with ridges & one without (and are interchangeable) for cheaper than 1 ridge monkey, I've used them for over 4yr now and they are still as good as new. I do like the idea of the deeper pan being inverted to make an oven. Looking forward to see how it goes buddy. ATB regards Scott 👍🏴🚗👍
@zoepollard4635 good question, honestly I don't know the answer but from my experience of using it, the silicone doesn't seem to have changed at all, it has never melted or gone soft. The grey has slightly discoloured but no different to silicone baking moulds I have used for muffins. So I feel they are safe to use from my experience.
Hi Ian great video, I’ve been looking for a base grill so that pies etc don’t end up burnt in my RM could you please point me in the direction of where you bought yours please or what they are actually called ? Keep up the good work and I hope RM sort out your lid problem! Regards Tom
@tomkelly9454 Hey Tom, thanks for the message. Here is a link to the racks on Amazon, amzn.to/48v8fv2 took me ages to find them. I did make something quite crude in a previous video so check this out too as it might get you by till you get some of these ordered. Thanks mate
@TravelswithaPodengo it would have saved me the mucking around if someone had, so hope it was useful. Thanks for watching 😁 don't forget to check out some more videos 😁😁
3 differnt products mate they haven't sat there and thought Ian is going to want to combine the lids and probably expect people to use the products as intended I.e the oven the right way up.. just get a bbq grill cut it to size and pop it in the Bottom to keep ya pie or what ever ya want on . Problem solved.
But the company never advertised that the lids are compatible with each other so making out that they don’t and saying there shit doesn’t make sense cuz they never said the lids were compatible with the other products
Must be if yours work. A shame though because I already have one of each now 😭 good to know though, thanks for mentioning it. Hopefully I can hook up with someone who has an old grill and I can do a video on that. Cheers mate.
So the old pan wasn’t compatible with new. So you bought a new granite toastie maker. What I don’t understand is why would you then need to take the lid from deep pan to put on the toastie one when they are exactly the same. Other than the actual fixing. Silly video and seems like a dig at ridgemonkey because they didn’t send you the free pan you asked for. And all came about because you have no where to store the big one other tidily.
The big pan lid has a griddle. Where the small one doesn't, when cooking pasties and pizza in the normal one they burn the base so it makes sense to me to fit the griddle on the small one. Then the griddle can be used to lift the pizza off the pan and stop it burning. But the lids don't swap. The point is that they use different size connections so that the lid doesn't swap over, as a manufacturer surely using the same size connections would be easier and cheaper so to me that means it was on purpose. I dont understand why they would do that. That was my point. I then thought maybe the change of fitting would be because I had old and not the new granite, hence why I bought the granite. I didn't want other people to make the same mistake I did.
The lid isn't the same, as I said the lid on the big pan has a griddle on it. Both of the toastie ones are flat. I wanted a combo of the griddle and flat together. It would be the ultimate ridgemonkey then. No more burnt bottoms on pizza and croissant. But it was never ment to be.
So it’s ridgemonkeys fault that you wanted something g they don’t make then. I just think rather than slander their company on TH-cam you should have asked them is there an idea in place to make something like you were asking. However the large pan does what you want and you stated just as you can’t store it tidy it’s a pain for you. So should ridgemonkey change their items based on one man who thinks it’s a pain to get one of the large pans out?
@@Carpagram you completely missed the point of the video. If you research there website there is no mention of if the multiple pan sets are compatible with each other. Nothing is mentioned either way, so after looking on TH-cam there was also no mention of if they are compatible. I think it is fair to say that if you are buying multiple pans you will eventually try to mix and match them. Well this video was supposed to highlight that they are not compatible. And even new ones are not compatible with each other. I dont see why your giving me a hard time about it. Have you even watched the whole video?? Because if you had I think you would see it wasn't a dig at them just a end user disappointed that they purposely made them not fit together.
I have indeed watched the full video. So saying things like “ridgemonkey are mugging us off” in your eyes isn’t digging out the company? As you just stated there is no mention of them saying their pans are compatible with one another. Probably the same as your pots and pans at home. You wanted something they don’t make. Well they do, but as you stated it’s “too big to store” if you can’t see that you have dug out a company then I don’t know what to tell you. Funny though how your having negative remarks about the company yet you were asking them to send you free products which they didn’t 🤔
Where did you get that trivet for the ridgemonkey from please
Thanks for watching, I don't believe I didn't link these in the description. Here is the link amzn.to/3UxGP39
Came here to ask that very question! 👍🏻
Did you find the link
@@ChillVanlife yes thanks! 👍🏻
Hi, was that the standard or large size Pan & Griddle set?

@scott-outdoors hey thanks for the comment. Talking about yours ,do you use the one with ridges much? Does it stop stiff getting burned?? Cheers mate
Is the silicone band ok in the heat of the ridgemonkey 🤔

hi bud.
easy fix, just get some metal tubeing that can fit in the big pan lid, eyelids with a small diamiter,
should fit much better,
Electricians ferrule crimps would be good to try
Interesting video Ian, well done for presenting it. I use Ridge monkey products and this information is good to know.

It's coz your attaching a standard to granite edition as I have both in standard and they are changeable

Interesting Ian, an exclusive!
Cheers Steve!!! Gonna message you later after work, need to pick your brain about my next camp, next weekend.
Defo tears 😢 That does proper suck…. But then I’m not a ridge monkey fanboy either so 😂
pot noodle in a ridge monkey?

Get an SQ Professional. Same concept and has flat and griddle pan. #solvedinone
Well they are two different products! Why would you think the old one fits to the new one. Instead of trolling maybe try putting your idea to them.
Get a file out and tinker, it's only money! 😜
@markwhalebone751 I really did think about doing that! It might have to be done 👍
Ridgemonkey have never said they are all interchangeable, you can’t buy a product and moan you can’t use it differently from how it was made.
@LeeHadley they have never said if they do or don't fit. Well now we all know they don't thanks to me 😁

They are an awful company, who make things as cheaply as possible in china. The sooner people start buying alternatives and funding them the better
@hillenthusiast it's a sad fact but I'm sure it's true, but are there any that aren't made in China??
