i have a prelude automatic SI 1993 because i bought apanel from the 1996 automatic, i saw that the plug are different. i got to pop in the car but it does not work like it should.
One of the two gray plugs on the passenger side doesn’t go to my dash harness, leads towards the firewall, no reason to unplug it really but the second gray plug on my new harness has no where to go
@@tgoods8245 I think that was my issue I needed the dimmer switch plugged in and turned up cause I tried turning it on and nothing so I called it. Plus I have a RHD so I need to relocate the Gray little box as it is which includes lengthening the wires. So soon ill have mine in once I do that. I'll just try again with the second harness I have is all :)
@@tgoods8245 also so to clarify all you did to get it to work was plug in the dimmer switch? Cause when I plugged my stuff in (minus the dimmer switch) it wouldn't light up. So do I need the dimmer switch in or?
@@Logan-Whatsittoya yea I did the same thing tried checking before putting it all back together and it was a very faint light and the needles didn’t light up but i plugged in the dimmer and it was mint. My original cluster had some resistance issues that caused my gas gauge to start full and slowly go empty every time I started it and the EL fixed that lol
After installing the cluster I noticed my speedometer is off about 7 mph, and my tach is off 800ish rpm. I doubt it’s the cluster, it was pulled from a running parts car, and the original cluster works fine. From what iv read this seems like a common problem with this swap. I grounded the extra wire but I’m wondering if it has something to do with that extra plug. Anyone know what those other 2 wires go to? Recalibration might be an option but if both clusters worked fine before, I don’t see why it would be off now. Maybe the extra plug is slightly more important than everyone believes or do the 94-96 use an updated or different sensor to transmit info to the cluster? Did you have any problems with your cluster readings? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
If I can’t get this working 100% flawless I’m keeping my stock cluster. So for anyone who’s interested I have everything you supposably need. Cluster in great condition 124k miles Wiring harness Inverter box and dimmer. Send me a pm

Chris Spencer analog cluster use the backlight to light up the gauge...EL cluster lights up the gauge like neon light...google prelude EL cluster and you will see images. Which cluster you have?
Is it plug and play. What’s the differences besides the grey box will it just plug right into the box

I'm having a heck of a time removing the tinted plastic cover along the dash. What am I doing wrong.?

Same does everything work as intended? It may be for alarms etc

Are there bulps in teh EL Cluster wich should be replaced before installing it?
TheHondaTuner yes, I would double check the bulps.

Circuit board is fried . You got scammed and.bought a broken gaufe. Should of kept your old working gauge.

Chris Spencer there are two types of cluster. The standard analog and the EL cluster. I installed the EL cluster.

@@TheKirsly 92 I've had every heart of fourth gen and want the newer blue gauges so do I just take and old one out and plug and play pretty much?
Chris Spencer yes, plug and play but you have to make sure to get the original dash wiring and the silver box that goes with the EL cluster.
I did the swap and my temp gauge is now stick on hot any ideas on a fix?
The gauges you bought are broken. The circuit board is fried

Check the negative wire on the passenger side. Need to ground the negative.
kirby ly I fix that problem I had to ground that wire and use the 94 hazard button. but my speedo don't work still???
