damn great performance, basically flawless, it seriously sounds just the same as the recorded version. claudio suprisingly had no vocal errors in this one.
agreed. Zach is fine, but Todd had the special sauce. a lot of it is in the sound, perhaps the mix, Todd likely has a different set up for the most part, bass and amp, signal processing, but it's a lot in the playing, having seen Coheed live a bunch in the last decade or so, Zach doesn't play with the same flourish, he doesn't slap, he doesn't cut things up as much.
After seeing the ad for this on playlist last jan or so, I've since been getting addicted to this band, especially live I'd only heard a favor house atlantic and the other radio songs after that one, but daamn. There's a lot that doesn't get the attention it should. Now I listen to coheed and cambria and the prize fighter inferno every day at least 95% of the time and I can't even get tired of it because I either want to hear a particular song or because I'm trying to figure out the story
i know, this song is just so great i cant explain it either. ive been a coheed fan since sstb and i still think this is definately in the top 5 greatest coca songs, but then again how could you only pick 5? much love to fellow diehard coheed fans
@Shadow0876 I'm not gonna lie, the reason I got into Coheed was from hearing Welcome Home and Ten Speed. But thanks to that, I listen to every song Coheed has, and I like 'em.
@ANeonGenesis actually most bands play in half step live, believe it or not they've been playing that way for a long time now. I mean think about it, if you sang live a lot would you really want that much vocal strain performing, They do it so they don't lose there voice, yeah it's impractical to some, but I'm sure he can still hit those notes, 1/2 step just makes it more comfortable.
TBH, theres no way you could say anyone drummed better than Josh for Coheed because he wrote the music and performed it on the album that Chris was playing (minus NWFT).
are you saying that Claudio is going downhill? he only sings deep in concert because if he sang high pitched for 4 nights his voice would be dead and he wouldnt be able to rehearse or prepare for shows or anything, he forces the high pitch because he has such a large vocal range compared to his talking voice, his "prime-time" isnt over, in fact i'd say that since 2004 its just started, wait for their new album i guarantee it'll be that good ol claudio voice us fans have come to love
I like Mars Volta, but Cedric Bixler-Zavala basically has the same vocal range. Claudio uses his much better, AND doesn't constantly use distorted or effected vocals. Claudio is a much more tasteful singer.
no your right man josh is a million times better. chris might have more speed and a double kicker, but josh has the true coheed sound his style is perfect for coheed. coheeds is rock and roll get over it. and when you play rock and roll you dont use a double kick. (generally unless your rush) and dont come at me saying this great rock bad had a drummer with a double kick. IDFC you just need one pedal
TMV is great but Cedric and Claudio are pretty damn similar. Besides, as of recently Cedric's voice has gotten deeper just like Claudio's has. Don't hate. These two guys were both better in their prime-time.
I didn’t like the keyboards in this version, although Wes is great and all. I just prefer the album version so much, someone also needed to do the background vocals. It’s a really underrated Co & Ca song, basically four parts and never lets up.
dude you are smokin some WICKED stuff if you think that co&ca posers didnt arise from rockband's featuring of welcome home, yes it was one of their more well known songs when good apollo im burining star IV vol. 1 came out but the people who liked welcome home back then actually listened to their other songs and yet now we have d bag posers who only heard welcome home on rock band and think the band is either awesome of sucks except for that song, pisses me off
or its posers trying to figure out the wha the lyrics mean:P and when u tell them the legit meaning from the story and stuff they freak and call u a liar hahaah (:
easily one of my fave coheed songs, i must say.. fantastic song.
Thank God Josh eppard is back
Yes. I hate the way this guy drums for coheed. But that would be the same feeling for anyone. He does t have the feel
one of my favorites. SSTB is arguably one of the best albums
If not the best album
The Best Band On The Planet!!!!!!!!!!! we are all children of the fence!!!!!!
The light and the glass is one of the most epic songs they have and it gets no love. That acoustic during live at the starland ballroom was amazing.
It's all about the wah wah solo by Travis. The full band versions from late 2004 were epic
You have to think to yourself... HOW can a band be this good?!!?
damn great performance, basically flawless, it seriously sounds just the same as the recorded version. claudio suprisingly had no vocal errors in this one.
I love that part at the beginning of the second verse with drums and bass.
Wes is a good keyboard player. (I've seen this video like a bazillion times so i figured i should find something new to say haha)
Mister Cooper is a good bass player but Mic Todd just got it... He understood something so raw about Coheed. It's hard to explain...
I think his bass parts are an underrated part of what made Coheed's sound so unique back then.

I would say he's definitely got a voice here haha even a half step down those are still some pretty high notes
@Shadow0876 I'm not gonna lie, the reason I got into Coheed was from hearing Welcome Home and Ten Speed. But thanks to that, I listen to every song Coheed has, and I like 'em.
totally agree, great album, great song, gotta love these guys
Dear Marioh...
THE WORLDS NOT BIG ENOUGH! FOR THE BOTH OF US, WHEN WE LIVE IN THE SAME TOWN!
The keyboardist is shocked people are clapping along at the end! Hahaha

@PPulling4990
Agreed :P this and everything evil especially,oh my god....better than perfect xD
true. very true. glad to see some other diehard fans on here btw
i think in keeping secrets was the best (: but SSTB was deffinelty runner up:D
TBH, theres no way you could say anyone drummed better than Josh for Coheed because he wrote the music and performed it on the album that Chris was playing (minus NWFT).

@ANeonGenesis Lol noone does, most epic and talented band of this age.
im tired of welcome home!! D: its a good song but i think songs like The crowing neverender and the willing well knock the shit out of it!
@GymLeaderGabe agreed
I like Mars Volta, but Cedric Bixler-Zavala basically has the same vocal range. Claudio uses his much better, AND doesn't constantly use distorted or effected vocals. Claudio is a much more tasteful singer.

i miss her too bro. hang in here.
what is this audio clipping
Needs Josh on the kit
no your right man josh is a million times better. chris might have more speed and a double kicker, but josh has the true coheed sound his style is perfect for coheed.

Fuck dude. You dropped this comment in 2009. Claudio hadn't dropped his octave until or 6 or 7 years after your comment.

Their other drummer plays this song so much better 😢
Jordan Owens well Josh wrote so it'd be weird if he didn't play it better.
My ultimate L ride song forever

Shchphinkter11 been a fan since SSTB in 7th grade!
