Ah Rasha- I am one of the keen follower of your TH-cam stuff - I just saw your CV that you and I are from the same UOW. ButI have studied there Civil Engineering then other Uni studied Arch/Eng. But I must say UOW is the best!!! And hence you are product- perhaps you are the next Zaha H

I am writing my CV for architecture and I do get spooked because of lack of experience regarding... well everything... even job applications them selves...
One thing that gives me little chills is that everyone keeps referring between graphical cv and normal cv. I get that a sample portfolio is separate and then there is the main one, but what's the difference? I just hope I don't overthink it

i am probably overthinking and over complicating things.. however just word cv is little to little ?, i am not sure... can you please help me out, this is the 3rd time i am making cv, and i am not sure how to go with it...

A4 is a good size for a CV
As I am making my CV currently, I feel you could do better with the new CV. Considering a study that says CV is read in 6 seconds.

@@SurvivingArchitecture it depends on what you are preparing your CV for. You have to be able to capture their attention to the details you want them to see. Use of bullet points smartly. Using graphics smartly but very limited. Like I liked the way you had used icons for experience, profile, work but you omitted them out in the edited one. Maybe just an addition of another colour to take out the boring element. Everything that is not important goes downwards/to the end. Does that make sense?

I used to think that too but everyone in the workshop had normal word document so I'm assuming that simple CVS work best. What do you think?
@@SurvivingArchitecture Haha... That is what scares me a little. We keep being advice to have it graphical. Not too graphical, but more along the lines of your first one, or something in between.
Well... I am in a region bit sparse for architecture positions so I am a little worried about it and probably overthink it. I guess I'll just give my self a little slack, keep applying, ask for feedback where possible and see., Maybe i'll have to spend a year working something out of the industry until I get there.
I mean... in the end a minimum wage job will pay perhaps 2-3 thousand less a year than Part I graduates job... not even that. So it's more about getting experience.

wouldn’t it be simpler for the first option to briefly go through and if they like what they see amongst the rest they will go through your detailed cv? Reason being time is money and people scan more than read.
I don't think anyone will do that to be honest. Although you can put a simpler resume in your portfolio but one CV should be enough

2 degrees in architecture? Why? Also, sad to see that someone with your talent end up working in retail. I hope you find something in your field and make those who rejected your application(s) regret not having you as their asset.
I studied 2 years before going to Wolv and I worked in retail a few months during Christmas breaks.
On CV "All Microsoft applications"? Are you sure this is ok?

Well, Microsoft makes programs from mobiles to network development. I think what you want to imply is that you master the popular Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) although if you master all the Microsoft Office Professional Plus programs you could put it with this name these include (Project, Visio among others)

First, tbh HR ppl are just like politicians:
They don't know what they do although they are silver tongued enough for others to believe in their words and knowledge.
I don't believe that is true. The person I met was highly knowledgeable with current industry standards with years of experience working along with architects, engineers, specialists.. etc
word of advice, don’t use times new Roman on your portfolio, its hard to pull off properly and not many people know how to
